Just downloaded the newest update for Windows 10, I was asked to restart my PC to install it, that was over 30 minutes ago, since then my PC reaches the Microsoft logo and under it, it says Preparing Automatic Repair and then it restarts and does that all over again, what am I suppose to do? I can't even get past it.

I finally decided to upgrade to Windows 10 yesterday (1/17/2016). It downloaded roughly 5.76 GB into a hidden folder : "C:$Windows.~BT"
Then it prompted me to restart my computer, so I did. Once restarted, nothing changed.
So I went into Windows Update, and it just tells me: "Restart your computer to install important updates" and it has a "Restart now" button. I've restarted roughly 40 times or so in the last 2 days after trying various fixes, and it doesn't make a difference.
I checked the update history, and there are a whole bunch of Pending and Successful updates with a "Date Installed" date of 1/15/2016. Nothing more recent either.
Have just installed 10 on a spare drive and installed that drive into my Sandy Bridge and the machine is now going through an endless loop of start up.
I can hear it make some sort of noise as if something wants to go and I have again tried the machine with the old 7 install drive and the same thing is happening.
The other thing is I am not getting a RAM beep or the BIOS to come up on the Gigabyte board (DEL) have jumpered the reset pins for the BIOS but still no BIOS or for that matter any graphics.
Ok so basically, after successfully installing windows 10 from windows 7, I decided to clean my hard drive and reset windows because I deleted my "edge" and thus my apps were not working. The problem then started, the reset went fine until it reached 64% and read "configuring settings" then it just restarted my PC and went in a loop like this;
>startup
>bios screen (Asus/Intel)
>monitor turns off
>monitor turns back on
>blue win10 logo and loading circle
>black screen for 5-10 secs
>install screen displaying 64%
>restarts and loops
I am currently unable to get to my desktop. My system appear to be in an endless loop of rebooting. I have tried a lot and no progress. I was given an error message on reboot and followed a guide to editing the registry to restart the download. The download did not restart however, and my windows 10 is stuck in an endless loop of rebooting. I have downloaded a copy of windows 10 and put it onto a USB, but when I try to boot from USB it takes me back to the BIOS. The BIOS are 'Aptio Setup Utility 2011', and don't seem to allow me to change from UEFI boot to LEGACY boot, although the option is apparently there. Why the USB boot is not working correctly and how to make it do so, I am more than happy to reformat the computer but at this moment in time it's useless. The computer is an Alienware x51 from 2011. As previously mentioned the operating system the PC is trying to boot (or install) is windows 10.
View 4 RepliesRecently upgraded my Toshiba Satellite NB 10A-laptop from Windows 8.1 to Win 10 and have been logging in via my Hotmail account. Went to settings to set up Local Account, completed the password settings. Then had the choice to Sign Off or Cancel. Chose Sign Off (thinking Cancel would void my new Local Account) and now, for many hours, my laptop is locked into an endless loop of Signing Off.

Yesterday I had deleted a Word document by mistake, so I used System Restore to try and get it back. System Restore told me NOT to turn off the PC whilst it was running, and next thing I know after it got halfway through my PC blue screened and I had to restart. Now every time I load up the PC it does the following...
It loads up to the Windows 10 icon > After a few seconds it says 'Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart' with the error code 0xc000021a > It then restarts itself but THIS time it tries to start Windows Automatic Repair instead > It then says 'Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC', and gives me the option to click Restart or Advanced Options. This is where I'm having the most trouble, as the mouse and keyboard don't seem to be working at all on this screen so I can't even click any of the options. It's like the screen has frozen/crashed > The only way off this is to then force a restart using the power button on the PC.
The above just keeps carrying on in a loop every time I turn on the PC now. I still have access to the BIOS where my mouse and keyboard DO work.
I ran the window 10 installation last night on my Lenovo Y50 laptop. Today it is stuck in an endless loop of trying to Preparing Automatic Repair, diagnosing PCs and wanting to restart. I can't get past the limited choice of options to actually do anything useful. I just want to get rid of the thing and go back to Window 8. I am to computer stupid to know how do this. I only recently got the laptop. I don't have a recovery disk.
View 3 Repliesi was updating my windows 7 to 10. it was updating smoothly but then my father hard reset the laptop and now my laptop is stuck, it goes to the booting menu. then the "windows error recovery" screen, and when i choose "start windows normally" it shows the logo and says "starting windows" and then it just restarts. how do i solve this? this loop has been going on for the last 2 hours.

When i rebooted I became stuck in an endless reboot cycle. I don't know how to get out of the cycle.
I get to the login page then the laptop automatically reboots itself if i don't try login. If I try to login it also reboots. So i can't get past the initial login page.
I wanted to check on the status of my Win 10 updates so I looked in "settings" "update and security" and clicked on update. Nothing happened, all I get is the endless progression of dots which goes on forever. Stopping and restarting the Windows update services has no effect on this situation. Looks like this situation has been going on months now.

It now boots past the BIOS and goes through "Windows Updating" to "Windows Diagnosing/Repairing" boot loop. My computer uses an SSD so it is (I believe) impossible to get it to boot into safe mode. Is there a way to boot into safe mode or rollback the update somehow?
View 1 RepliesSo every since wednesday i updated my windows (automatically when shutdown) and when i turn the pc back on it goes into repair and will keep restarting and repairing... I have to keep restoring to be able to even use the pc but windows needs updating and will keep doing this everytime, resorting in me having to restore AGAIN! This also happens when i try to upgrade to windows 10 .
View 1 RepliesI was fresh reinstalling my windows 10 onto my HDD as I encountered an error preventing me from booting the computer up, in the end I found it was my new GPU causing this error (a dead GPU?). So now my computer shows an error message: "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an error during installation of windows". I looked this error up and it told me to press shift f10 to open a console and to type regedit in and to find status on local machine, changing the number from 1 to 3. I did this supposed fix, however, now my computer is in a infinite restart loop, displaying the windows 10 installation at 64% and then restarting again...?

However, the computer has been stuck in Restart for 3 hours. Microsoft... can you access my IP and stop this loop? Is there anything I can do to stop this loop?
View 1 RepliesLast night I was trying to watch some good ole' dragon ball z. When this site gave me a virus. I tried system restore and was denied. So I hard reset my PC which I just upgraded from 7 to 10.
The reset was stuck at 50% for about an hour so I turned off my PC and flipped it back on to see if it'd retry the installation.
To my surprise I'm stuck in this loop where my computer shows the boot up dell xps screen and then restarts. F8, F9, F11. NOTHING WORKS. I can't get to any recovery screen like I could with Windows 7. I don't have a disk because it was of course the free upgrade on July, 29th. Also can't burn one due to not being able to get to my Desktop.
I've been experiencing startup issues with my PC since last night. I go to startup and startup freezes. It seems that something is either stuck or freezing up on loading. Since it doesn't fully boot up, I have been hitting the reset button or holding the power button. It appears that this has made the problem worse. I went to startup this morning and am getting the same thing. Did the same steps of hitting reset and or holding the power button to shutdown. After this I am getting BSOD that keeps restarting and BSOD in a loop. The next boot loaded with repair options. I attempted to do startup repair and have been unsuccessful. How to get out of BSOD restart loop?

I managed to upgrade it to Windows 10 hoping that it will cure the problem BUT still it is a problem to start.
I checked everything and used every tool possible on windows 7 and windows 10 but nothing worked. (ccleaner and others failed)

On start up I get the computer needs to restart and then goes into the loop of restarting from a blue screen, I can get F2 which is the Bios screen but thats all, I can see reboot on this but do not have anything to reboot with as I upgraded from win 7.
View 4 RepliesLast night I was watching a dvd on my desktop when all of a sudden a blue screen came up with a frowning face and said that "Your computer ran into a problem and needs to restart, its collecting info and will restart." It happened quickly so I didn't see what the error was but now my PC is stuck in a loop where it restarts and loads into an empty blue screen. It stays on that blue screen for a minute or so and then restarts again. I tried going into my BIOS or starting in safe mode but my PC won't go into them.
View 9 RepliesI was using a machine with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, and it was working perfect till the day I upgraded to Windows 10. First, I had a few problems during the update, probably due to the not updated (with the last drivers) nVidia card.
My specs:
-SSD hard drive as boot
-MOBO is Gigabyte GA-768XP-UD3P updated with the lastest BIOS from 2013, UEFI.
-a few other hard drives
-nVidia GTX 980 graphic card
Well, I finally was able to install the Windows system, but after the shut down and boot, I couldn't enter it. The computer started to reboot after a few seconds, sometimes I'm able to see the BIOS screen (but pressing any button doesn't work) and then it boots again in a few seconds.
After some search online, I understood it could be a problem of the BIOS that was corrupted (why if it worked till the day before??). I used a very strange system to press the power on button and put down and up the PSU for 3 times, then when I rebooted again I saw the screen with "The main BIOS is corrupted and we have to recover it from a backup".
The setup of the BIOS from backup worked, but with "load optimized default" I then got a Windows 10 blue screen error " :-( INNACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE"
I then entered again the BIOS and changed some info like AHCI, UEFI only, etc.
Then, after a reboot it worked and I could enter WINDOWS 10 finally.
I thought I was OK, then I tried a reboot and it worked. BUT, when I tried to first shutdown and then boot, again I went inside the BIOS reboot loop!!
The update creating this issue: Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3140743).These are the steps of the loop:
1) My PC downloads this update automatically in the background. I have no option to stop my PC from downloading it.
2) I am forced to install this update. There is no option for me to shut down/restart without having to install the update.
3) During the restart, I get a notification that my PC was unable to complete the update and hence the changes are rolled back and the whole process starts again.
This thing has been going on for days, wasting my time and getting on my nerves.Why is Microsoft so dumb?
A) If at all my PC has downloaded an update, why don't they save it somewhere on my PC till the update process is successfully complete instead of downloading it again and again wasting my bandwidth?
B) Why have they not given options to opt out of (downloading/installing) troublesome updates like this?
C) Is there a solution to this issue?
My installation is stuck in a reset loop. The Win 10 Ready to Install came up, so I clicked Start and it rebooted, back to the login screen, and then Windows Update came up saying it needed to Restart Now. After a couple of minutes the Win 10 Ready screen comes up again. I've rebooted about 20 times and get to the same point every time.
View 2 RepliesSo this is not my personal computer, but this is my mom's computer. Its an HP Slimline Desktop computer, not sure about the exact model but it is running with an AMD Athlon X2 B24, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, AMD R5 240 and a Corsair Neutron 120GB SSD.
Everything was working fine when it was running a legitimate OEM copy of Windows 7 Home. However, after the Windows 10 upgrade process, it got stuck in "Welcome Back" Screen and she told me after she clicked "Next" the cursor started spinning, and it rebooted. Now after checking it, Windows wouldn't load to the desktop, it would just go on a bootloop and blue screens.
She didn't back anything up before the upgrade. I do not know what to do.
