I did a reset on my windows 10, then suddenly it went blank screen cant reboot so i decided to unplugged it , when i try to turn it back on cpu not getting any power fans arent moving either

I had recently clean installed Windows 10 on my laptop. Before doing that, all my drivers were working well except for WiFi - a problem since build 10158. Currently I am on build 10240.

When I plug usb sticks into the USB 3.0 ports on my laptop, they don't connect. It's not like the 'not recognised' problem. It simply shows no sign of connection like blinking its LED or any response from the OS. On the other hand, when I connect my Lumia phone in the same ports, it warns me of Slow Charging.

And when I plug it into the 2.0 port, it gets connected. Why is this happening? All of my device drivers are up to date. I believe its not a hardware issue because my laptop has two such ports and both of them have the same problem.

Power Options On Sign In Screen

With Windows 8,1 I was able to sign out of my account and then put the PC to sleep (or shutdown, restart or hibernate) by selecting the option in the sign-in screen. But there is no power icon or any power options on the Windows 10 sign-in screen. I can only put the PC into sleep mode while signed in.

Have been running Windows 10 on a Packard Bell laptop since August and suddenly the login screen password box is disabled on start up. None of the sign in screen options (power options, language, etc.) are enabled. I can't get to any safe mode boot options either so at the moment I'm stuck.

Desktop Icons Position / Dimension Reset Every Time Sign-out / Sign-in?

Until yesterday everything was working fine. This night I shutdown my computer and this morning, when I started it up, I noticed the icons of my dekstop in the default location and with the default dimensions.

I repositioned them , I changed icon dimensions again but if I sign out/sign in , restart , shutdown/startup the computer , all my desktop icons go back to default position and default dimension.

Performance :: Power Down Button Does Not Completely Turn Computer Power Off?

I recently upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 10. When I power down the system from the menu, my computer does not completely turn off. The procedure I use is described below:

Click Windows_Start_button > Power > Shutdown

The system closes applications and appears to initiate a shutdown procedure. Everything appears to be shut off, but my mouse is still lit up. I do notice that the fan stops and everything else appears to be completely shut down. When I was running Windows 7 before my upgrade, my system completely powered down.

I have a dual boot system with Linux, and when I power down from Linux, the shutdown is complete, so I don't think I accidentally did anything to the hardware or BIOS.

I downloaded and installed windows 10 home premium version on my desktop. The blue screen have been annoying me time by time when I'm using OS properly. There are several errors shows up every often, such as bad pool xxxx, page management, no area paged found. I tried reinstalled OS but the problems still exist. How to solve those errors. Someone said its caused by the drive software which I don't know how to pick it up from so many drive tools in my system. When I search for something in the search bar, now I am only getting web results. I am not getting computer related items. For example, if I search for printers, I only get web results about printers. I am not getting anything about the printers I have installed on this computer. This is a recent development. I have two asus m4a78lt m le pc , after installing windows 10 they both will shut down just when the windows 10 window shows, If i press the restart power button again straight away they will start as normal, I have changed cmos batteries and changed a few settings in bios, seems windows ten is setting the system up for a restart every time.

I just rejoined my dad's homegroup, but my computer appears twice... one with my MS account profile picture and name and one without either... but they both show the same folders, etc.

Is it possible that the homegroup is picking up the local account I had prior to logging in with my MS account?

Now my MS account one vanished and now it's just "Chris."

I just downloaded Windows 10 today. I can't see any icons, desktop, find the start menu or anything else. I read it does dual-monitors but I can't figure out how to switch when I can't see anything. I have an Alienware computer. Should I call Dell or talk to Microsoft support? The picture isn't clear but that's my desktop.

I just received this new wintel box with dual boot android and win10, the android version works fine, however, windows 10 behaves strangely, I click for example on MS edge, it launches, if you hover over it on the taskbar it shows with the small window but there is no way it actually launches on the screen! all the applications behave similarly, after fiddling a bit, I could only launch windows explorer by right clicking on the taskbar and choosing win explorer the only application that launched and I could actually see and work with.

Calendar App Shows Duplicate Events

I've been experiencing a problem with the Windows 10 Calendar app - it shows duplicate events. I'm using a Microsoft account (Outlook.com) and have in configured on the computer. Mail app Works ok and syncs. Calendar App shows duplicate events. If I access the same calendar on Outlook.com the calendar shows OK with no duplicates. On another computer with the same Setup the calendar does not show duplicates, Works as expected so this seems a problem confined to this one computer only.

This Windows 10 instalation is about a month old (installed from scratch - no upgrade from 8) ans has all published MS updates instaled and also all app updates. Have tried to uninstall the Calendar app, rebooted, reinstall the app, but duplicates persist.
