View 3 RepliesNever had a problem before in copying and pasting files, from one External Hdd to another External Hdd.
All of a sudden windows 10 will not let me copy and paste multiple files, will only let me copy and paste single files only. I have used copy and paste, Ctrl C and Ctrl V, used copy to folder and paste to folder.
Will Windows 7 Themes work on Windows 10 ??

I go to personalization and see the choice of themes but cant see the small pane at the bottom of the screen which gives options for delay between images fit etc etc..
I just downloaded Windows 10 today. I can't see any icons, desktop, find the start menu or anything else. I read it does dual-monitors but I can't figure out how to switch when I can't see anything. I have an Alienware computer. Should I call Dell or talk to Microsoft support? The picture isn't clear but that's my desktop.
View 6 RepliesSuddenly today I started my PC and got bootmgr missing error. Tried scan disk and bootrec commands to fix to no avail. Used a repair disc and ran startup repair but nothing works. I went to option to reset the PC and it is showing two versions of windows. One says"Windows 10" and the other "Windows 10 Home". Don't understand what happened here. This is a week after the latest build update and my PC was running fine up to this point.

View 1 RepliesSince upgrading to Win 10, I have noticed that with most (but not all) system shutdowns and restarts, it result in a nice red X with the 'Windows was not properly shut down" Clicking on it gives no clues, just says "The previous shutdown at [time] on [date] was unexpected.
There is no other indication other than what the Reliability Monitor reports. I would not even be aware there was an issue. The PC starts as normal with no errors on every boot.
There is an update available for windows update. But when i try windows shows no updates found with an error code 8024402F ... Why am I not getting an update for Windows 10?
View 1 RepliesSo I just today activated my new Win10 laptop and managed to install the old, fabulous XP MSPaint, but how do I get ALL my images to open in that, rather than in the "upgraded" (HORRRRible :exclame: :smash: ) pre-installed MSPaint?
Note: I do know how to change defaults, but when I went thru that process, there was no way to choose the old MSPaint option.
MS Paint keeps showing the last 9 files which were opened. Is there a way so that when I close the Paint, these files could automatically removed. I do not want to make a new user. Or if there is any other free program which is like MS Paint but have option to not to show last opened files.
View 9 RepliesI don't know of any other software that can do this so I usually use Microsoft Paint to do this. Sometimes I want to edit out some information that are in the screenshots that I take. I don't know of any software that can securely blur out the information. I'm always afraid that someone can take the blurred images and then use some powerful software to unblur it. If I use Microsoft Paint's eraser feature, "erase" those information from the screenshot, and then save it as a new JPEG, will someone be able to recover the information that's been "erased" with Paint's eraser feature?
View 1 RepliesI had Windows 8.1 Pro and upgraded to Windows 10 via Windows Update. I can't set as lock screen this service that personalize it. I can do it on my laptop! I don't have Paint either.

View 14 RepliesThe Windows Photo Viewer was perfect for me in Windows 7 so I got it working on Windows 10, too. The new Photos software that came with Windows 10 is useless to me because it doesn't zoom, at lease I can't figure out how as of yet. I just want to keep things simple with the Windows Photo Viewer.
All was OK until I calibrated my monitors & at about the same time there was a Windows update. After calibration the monitors looked much better. But when I opened the Windows Photo Viewer I noticed all photos looked extremely dark. All other photo viewing software shows the same photos normal. I just assumed it was the Windows update that caused this but it wasn't that.
Today I have figured it out that the problem is Windows Photo Viewer software is somehow clashing with my monitor color profile. If I remove the .icc profile, the photos look normal using Windows Photo Viewer. Once the monitor profile is returned, they go back to too dark. As I said, other photo viewing software is not affected by this profile, just Windows Photo Viewer.
I don't have a clue how to fix this other than returning to the default profile which would wreck my Photoshop business. It just seem odd that the color profile only effects the Windows Photo Viewer this way & not other programs.
I've notice that Paint on my pc doesn't have a Text option. I don't know if it's hidden somewhere or if it's just not there.
View 1 RepliesWhy do programs like Paint and Photoshop take FOREVER to load? It's not like my computer slows down as they are loading either. My computer is running well without any issues, but this is still a problem. I was part of the Insider Program and I am up-to-date. Also, the Photos program can't edit any files because of their "file types." This happens to ALL file types.
View 1 RepliesI used cut to move a file and then did not do paste---but then the file disappeared and could not do paste--Did I loose it?
View 4 RepliesI have a work system, and the issue as in existence on 7 prior to my upgrade today, but I wanted to bounce this off the community.
Ok, I cannot paste files. If I have a folder open on the desktop and want to right click and do it, or by KB, I just don't get paste or paste shortcut.
I believed that possibly in the upgrade to 10 on the machine this might get taken care of, but alas not.
I can copy text between apps with no issues.
Looking to see what steps I can take, while it was on 7, I did an SFC /scannow and nothing was amiss...
Malwarebytes and avast scans were fine.
Strangely, I have a lot of problems copying and pasting in Win10.
Many times it just doesn't work, but it usually works the second time I try.
This is the same if I use my mouse, the keyboard, Right click - or use it for Word, Email, or Edge browser
I haven't had this problem for 20 years, but on one PC this always happens.
Everything else works OK on the PC except the History doesn't work in Edge browser.
I can copy but cannot paste in Windows 10?
