View 2 RepliesI just got a new system coming from a Win 7 Pro machine to a Win 10 Pro System . Im having an issue with removing the password from 2 spots : When waking up from Sleep & from Screen Saver. When I boot up it doesn't ASK that's all good! !
What I have done so far: Win Settings ( require sign in NEVER is selected ) and Run : User accounts must enter a password ( That is Un Checked ) I tried signing in and out of my Microsoft account still doesn't work!
I also did all 3 steps here! Still asks for Password after Screen Saver & Pin after Sleep!
Require Sign-in on Wakeup - Turn On or Off in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
As of this afternoon I am being asked to enter a password every time I wake my desktop pc even though I've set it so a password is never required. The message on my pc says, "Authentication is required when this PC wakes from sleep. Security policies on this PC are preventing you from changing this setting." The only thing I have done differently today is set up the mail app to handle my different accounts. This is frustrating.

View 5 RepliesWake up this morning and wife's PC demands a Microsoft Password in order to operate the computer. I know nothing of Microsoft passwords - never needed one before. The solution: Log on to the Internet to reset the password -- BUT you cannot log on to anything without the password. Research on another computer reveals the cute trick of holding down the shift key while restarting in order to get back to a previous build of Windows - BUT you need to do this as an administrator - which you can do by signing into Windows - FOR WHICH YOU NEED A PASSWORD!
View 1 RepliesI had win10 set for auto login, but after updates(I think) now requires for a login password? I reset auto login but reverts back.
View 1 RepliesI turned my PC on and typed my MSN password but I wasn't allowed into my PC because the internet was down.
View 3 RepliesOk so i am furious with Micro$oft now! the other day i was FORCED to change my microsoft account after much nagging i did so and i dont like changing logins too much. (this was a week ago)
now for some random reason on earth without my permission my windows login also changed login passwords to the microsoft account. I DONT WANT THAT! that password is too long and complicated for someone who locks his computer every 5 minutes or so. why did this just kick in now? i changed M$ account pass over a week ago and today it decides to change windows login?! can i change JUST my local windows login separate from microsoft login?
if i try to change pass from settings it it goes online and says you cant use password that has been used before.
after an update at starting, tablet laptop start gives picture/clock screen, that slides to the password screen but when password block is touched on screen or mouse clicked the screen flips back to the picture/clock ... how to deal with this kind of lock out that the typing box won't open and loops to clock screen? have turned off for an hour to see if that does it..but if not...would restarting into a repair or recovery be possible fix...i have never been able to get into safe mode without being logged in but have gotten into recovery during a restart which made me wonder if entering a recovery during boot and reversing the upgrade was possible if all else fails...
View 1 RepliesI have Windows 10 media on a flash drive, and I was going to load it onto my other laptop that had no OS on it. I got to a screen that had said "Setup is Starting". Then, a box popped up saying," Windows cannot open the required file D:Sourcesinstall.wim. Make sure all files required for installation are available", I checked and the file is there, but I can't continue with the installation.
View 4 RepliesI have Aspire V5-573G, which has all hardware requirements for Windows 10. The problem is when I tried to upgrade from windows 8.1 to 10 after 30%, the installation stops and roll backs to windows 8.1, I tried this 3 times and fed up. It gave me error "The installion failed in the FIRST_BOOT phrase with an error during BEGIN_FIRST_BOOT operation".
So I tried to do a clean install, I have booted to USB key, formatted hard drive, but it gave me error "Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x800701E3". Both the way I couldn't install windows 10.
Everytime I open the messages tile, this message keeps popping out, authentication required, continue or cancel. What's this about? I'm on windows 10 mobile.
View 2 RepliesI've had two system crashes over the past day or so with an error saying that a required component was missing. The first time gave the error code 0xc000000f and I had to rebuild the BCD and then do a refresh of the windows installation. I didn't catch the error code the second time but I believe it ended with an e. the second crash, like the first one, required boot media before it would restart, but did not require a system refresh. What could be causing these errors? I'll give my system info below.

We have written several programs in VB.2010. They all have a setup and deploy project to create the MSI file. There is a launch condition for a specific file.
This same technique is used in many other programs we have. All work in Windows 7, 8, etc. but not in Windows 10.
The file is there where it supposed to be.
Some programs work using the same exact file in Windows 10 and some do not. All work on Windows 7, 8.
The file is QBFC13.dll and is in C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesIntuitQuickBooks Search Target is [CommonFilesFolder]IntuitQuickBooks
I have a Acer Aspire which is bought 5 years back.It was running windows 7 ultimate x64 and has 2 gb ram and 500 gb hdd and intel pentium.Three monts back, there was an unexpected shutdown and when started it again,it shows an error and says that
1.Try installing media using usb stick or dvd and
2.Go to the language preferences and select any language and press next
3.And click on repair your computer
I tried doing that and it says that contact your device administrator
Finally,i tried installing windows 10 pro which was download from Windows 10 and there was a slow progress in"Getting files ready for installation 1%,2%,3%............"and at 33% it showed an error that "Windows cannot install required file.Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation.

Having problems with Windows 10 asking for credential verification multiple times? I can get this multiple times a day. I also tried deleting all the credentials related to my account & it appeared to work temporarily & then went back to having credential problems again.. I believe it's something server side because I can verify & then sometimes immediately you are asked to verify again or few minutes/hours later it asks again.
When I look at my account online, sometimes it will show multiple "Surface" computers with the same S/N or with no S/N (Now this doesn't always happen)
I also notice with my email accounts (While using the native Win10 email app) it will state my account is out of date & it will no longer send/receive emails. This happens on 2 MS accounts & 1 gmail account. I have actually reinstalled Win10 & the problem has only gotten worse. Before it used to only happen maybe once every few days.
When Win10 needs verification again, sometimes the store apps will won't open until you verify again. All regular desktop apps continue to work just fine during this process. Also, updates to Win10 & the store apps may stop updating if it's not verified once again.
I want to know before updating to windows 10 is it required to take BACKUP (in external hard disk) of all my data (images movies etc)??
View 1 RepliesMy present Windows 7 computer has the C: Drive (OS) and two additional storage drives, D & E. When getting reading to do a clean install of Windows 10, is it necessary to electrically remove the storage drives in case of any conflicts, if any, during the installation of Windows 10 or can they remain intact during the clean installation of Windows 10?

I bought a new SSD drive and used it to replace my old slow HDD in my laptop. I have just successfully installed windows 10 on it.
During the step shown in the picture below, I clicked on "New"
Which brought me to this step
From here, i just chose "Drive 0 Partition 4", clicked "Next", and the installation began.
Now here is my question, does it make a difference (or is it better) if I had chosen to format "Drive 0 Partition 4" first and then install? cuz my friend is saying that I should always format before installing Windows.
Get error message when I try to save a document or picture on c: 'A required privilege is not held by client.' Is there a way to fix this?
View 9 RepliesWhen I put my computer in sleep mode, it won't 'wake up'. I have to manually turn off the computer and then start it up again. This has happened twice. I'm not putting it into sleep mode until I find out what's wrong and that's exasperating as I normally leave my computer on all day so I can periodically play my games.
View 4 RepliesI have a problem in the installation of Windows 10. I have a CD installer of windows 10 pro 64 bit and I want to replace my Windows 8 OS thats why I perform a clean install. But whenever I try to install the OS. I have this error:
"Windows cannot find the Microsoft Software License Terms. Make sure the installation sources are valid and restart the installation."
Just purchased new PC - HP Pavilion desktop and upgraded to Windows 10 during installation. I've downloaded Google Chrome as my default search engine with no issues. I've attempted several times to download Google Earth. Download fails: "Google Earth needs administrator privileges to install."
I am the only user on this PC and User Account type indicates that I'm the "Administrator".
Why won't Google Earth install?
Laptop does not wake up from sleep when either power button, keyboard buttons or mouse touchpad are pressed. A forced reboot is always required. HDD light off, monitor stays black and battery light and fan still on.
Have had this problem for over a week since downloading and using Advanced SystemCare and Driver Booster. Once the problem occured I uninstalled them but nothing changed. Also there was a few recent windows updates at beginning of March but haven't read anywhere that they are causing similar problems. Have tried the obvious fixes but nothing seems to work.
