When I click on the people app. The app hangs and instantly crashes a few seconds later. Also we are less than 2 weeks until the official release of Windows 10 and they still haven't fixed the people app.
View 2 RepliesI've just installed Windows 10 Build 10122 on my SP3 (finally) and I have a problem. The old people app seems not to be correctly installed and I'm not able to uninstall it...
And the new People app and Store (Beta) opens but crashes after a few seconds...
People app crashes on RTM build, it opens waits at the splash screen and terminates itself. I tried the previous method, changing the contacts.txt file at AppData, but that file is missing.

I also sometimes have problems booting the pc, it just hangs on a black screen and will only eventually boot if i turn it off and back on.

Installed Build 10565 yesterday and everything works great except Hearts. Event viewer indicated it might be a Java problem so I downloaded the latest Java but that hasn't worked.
View 3 RepliesAfter installing and enjoying Windows 10 for a few weeks, I am having problems with the Photo app. I was able to open it up with no problems and it showed me all my pictures but I few days ago, I opened it up and it quit after a few seconds. I kept open it with the same results: it opens , acts as if it is loading some pictures but it quits by itself after about 5-7 seconds.
I am providing with an error report from Windows 10.

Every time I open a java program (netbeans, mc) it crashes after about 3sec. The aplications works when I run java 32-bit but I can't run anything with more then 1,5Gb of ram and if I change to 64 (deleting 32-bit and installing 64-bit)the aplications just crashes after 3sec. I've tried running both java 7 and 8 but it still crashes. I believe it's a problem with windows 10 but I'm not sure...

I have Windows 10..Just recently I have found that when I open a folder on my desktop which opens in maximized mode, and then go ahead and click to restore the window to a smaller size, instead of doing so, the window restores to the width of the three buttons at the top (minimize, restore, close) and then the file explorer window crashes and freezes for a few seconds, my screen goes black for a few seconds, then I am returned to the desktop, where the window has closed.Is this a sign of hard drive corruption?
View 1 RepliesEvery time I turned my PC on it would stay on for a few seconds then reboot, no BIOS screen or anything showed, I finally got it to work and it said my BIOS was corrupt and it gave me an option to retrieve a backup, which I did and then it started working, it then came up with "Windows can't start up" it gave me recovery options, I tried system restore, no luck, I then completely wiped my PC and reinstalled everything through the recovery, it turned on, every thing was fine.I then turned it off to plug in all of my cables and when I plugged the power cord in, it started the same thing except now it turns on then INSTANTLY boots up again and it continuously loops until I turn it off.

View 1 RepliesI'm not entirely sure if it's hibernate or sleep. But it's the only option available in the shutdown menu, so i hope you know what i'm talking about. It's a desktop. And it does put the machine into sleep, but it instantly turns the machine back. How to troubleshoot this kind of issue. I've found plenty of people having problems not being able to initiate sleep, but my problem is getting it to stay in sleep.
View 9 Repliesso apparently my PC has started to do a thing were it will just randomly drop all network processes (connections) and it either recovers slowly or not at all and a restart of the programs or the PC is needed..

So I just installed a security program, and my windows 10 pc oddly goes to sleep and wakes back up instantly, twice. It seems like it stopped, but I would like to know if this should sound an alarm for any malicious activity.

I've been testing the command prompt in various different ways, but only found one way of making it work, and that was in a very impractical way (Windows 10 advanced restart -> command prompt). This led me to think that it may be a virus, or some other program, executing at startup, but so far, I have not been able to find which it could be.
In terms as precise as I can give, the problem is : When activated, the window executing the command closes instantly, before running any command, or giving me a chance to enter input.
This problem does not occur however, when the command prompt is executed without any other programs. I have tried going through background processes, but I haven't located one yet in which malignant code may be in-bedded.
This problem began to occur when I had Windows 7 btw - if that is of any use.
I sometimes connect to my Windows 10 PC at my work place from home.
When I was using Windows-7(work place PC), I was able to select the menu button (lower-left) and select 'Lock Screen' menu from the shutdown sub-menu. I recently received a new desktop PC which is Windows-10, but I found Windowns 10 doesn't have such 'lock-screen' menu that I can choose with my mouse. So the only way I can lock the screen is using Window-L button which is ok when I'm at work. But when I'm remotely logged in from my home, if I press Window-L keys, my home notebook is screen locked, not my work place Desktop.
When I upgraded to Windows 10 I set up the People App to list my contacts by syncing with my Outlook account. It worked great until this week. Now it attempts to sync followed by a message in red under the account saying attention required. When I attempt to open that account to edit the setting I get a dialog box with error code 0x008072ee2 that says "something went wrong". The only option is to close that window after which the account tries to sync again as the process repeats itself.
How can I delete this account and start over. I have remove the people app and reinstalled it and I have re-registered all of the apps with no success.

When you click to add the account it goes to the store and comes up with an error. How do we get this to work?

Get the message that my Browser needs to be updated, click on the message and it tells me my Browser (IE10) is the latest version.
Am using IE instead of Edge due to many Malware instances using Edge... they are not there in IE10.
I have a contacts cvs file from my live mail 2012 but have not been able to import it to the People app.

When displaying contacts - with FB and Twitter installed - clicking on "showing" lets me select contacts from my email accounts but not my social apps.
When clicking on "Get social apps" in settings, I get a message saying Your search for "" had no results.
Works fine (ish) on my Wp10 insider build.
I've searched around for an answer to this but I couldn't find anything. Does the People App in Windows 10 bring in profile pictures from Facebook? This worked great in Windows 8.1 and all the mobile versions (even WP10 preview) but for some reason all my contacts in the People App have blank pictures and I'm not sure how to get this fixed. I have the Facebook app installed but I'm not sure if there is anything else I need to do. It's annoying seeing all the blank pictures.

View 3 RepliesProblems syncing Contacts to one PC - how to fix!? I have the following setup:
- My contacts in the Microsoft Account on the web (People.Live.Com) with Outlook Contacts, Windows Messages, Skype and LinkedIn-integration, works perfectly
- A Lumia 925 with Windows Phone 8.1 and full sync to my account which works fine (including LinkedIn)
- A MS 950XL With Windows Phone 10 and full sync to my account which works fine (without the LinkedIn-integration)
- a PC with Win 10 Prof. which also works fine with all contacts showing up in the "Contact" app on my PC (except the LinkedIn integration)
But then also a laptop with Win 10 home, setup in exactly the same way with the Outlook account, Skype etc. but where the contact sync worked initially BUT HAS NOW STOPPED WORKING!
If I add a new Outlook contact on any of my other devices it syncs with all but the laptop and the same is true for changes of contact data. Somehow the sync function of contacts to the laptop has stopped working!!
I have forced sync but no new contacts show up. The settings in the Contact App on my laptop is the same as on my other PC (same server, same setting on what to collect and how to sync my outlook account, ticking the same boxes on how to filter the contacts etc). I have uninstalled and reinstalled Skype, Messages + Skype-app etc. but cannot make it work. I cannot detect any other differences between the devices and all other things work great.
I set up my Yahoo mail account in the new Windows 10 email but my contacts aren't listed. So, I see I need to add my contacts from Yahoo to the new People App but when I go into the People app, Yahoo isn't listed as an option to import from.
