Just installed my new RAM and took a look at system to see that I only have 4 GB usable out of the 12 installed. I've done everything I thought of and nothing has worked. Why this could be?

View 1 RepliesI have recently upgraded to Windows 10 Home from Windows 7 Home. And I replaced my 4 RAM sticks with 8 GB RAM but my system shows : Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (3.23 GB usable).
View 9 RepliesI've just installed my windows 10 and since it was running slow on a 2gb ram, I decided to buy a 4gb stick on my 32bit system. Long story short, it only shows 2.2gb usable. 768mb(or something close to that figure) is reserved for the videocard but I think I still should have 1gb more. Ive tried the unchecking the maximum memory and didn't work. I've tried all possible solutions that I could find on the net yet no progress. Except for one, which is updating the BIOS, of which I am particularly bad at trying to figure out how. Anyway I'll just attach some of my computer information ....
View 9 RepliesMy computer reads that I have 6.00 GB RAM but only 3.37 GB is usable. I've seen that using x32 versions can cause this but I have yet to figure out why my x64 version is doing this.
View 4 RepliesI just noticed this. I never had this problem under Windows 8.x. Checked my BIOS and everything looked good. IGPU is turned off. Setting the memory in msconfig Boot|Advanced doesn't work.
View 9 RepliesIn System Information it shows that I have 64-bit Operating System. Why is it showing only 4 GB of RAM is usable, out of 6 GB available? And how to enable it to fully use the whole 8 GB? Because I had in stalled 8 GB of RAM to this machine.
However, when I went to check by myself, by right-clicking on 'This Computer' icon and selecting Properties. Under system, it says that I have x64 based processor, and 64-bit OS installed. Here, you can also see that I have highlighted that there's 6 GB of RAM available, but only 4 GB usable.
And this here is a snipped screenshot from 'System Information, well, it also says here that I have 64-bit version of the OS.
I have a laptop, and have 4 GB of ram installed.. but only 3.85 Usable.. never had such thing.. my other laptop have 8GB and its fully usable while my desktop has 16GB and its fully usable? why does such thing happen?

Did a clean install of Windows 10 in 64 Bit and now on my properties it only says 4GB of Ram are usable instead of the full 8GB. (Pic Attached)

View 6 RepliesI've notice that on windows 10 and 8.1, task manager would show the my max cpu core speed is 2.3-2.4 ghz. However, my Core 2 Quad q8400 is rated at 2.66 ghz. I tried changing the power settings in windows and try lowering my cpu temperature, but my speed would never reach 2.66 ghz.

One of the things that is perplexing me is that my external hard drives seem to be impacting my startup performance. Following start up Task Manager performance tab shows one of my external drives (G) working at nearly 100% and the noisy disk drive suggests that it is working hard. The disk transfer rate also indicates movement between the PC and the drive. This is despite Drive G being used only as a storage/backup device with no automated actions configured. Yesterday Drive G became very hot as a result.
If I disconnect Drive G, my second external hard drive Drive F takes its place and task manager shows the same activity as previously shown on G. If both drives are connected F shows no activity.
I'm facing a problem with the task manager. Suddenly both of my HDs stopped showing any activity in the task manager and are constantly show 0% although there is activity and despite the fact that in the resource monitor activity is shown properly. What the fault might be?
I think they've stopped after I connected an external HD. But I am not sure though so don't rely on that being the issue.
I have been having some really annoying performance problems after upgrading my laptop from win8 to win 10.
My laptop is a asus ux32vd, with an Intel i7-3517U cpu.(normal core speed: 1.7ghz, turbo: 2.4ghz)
CPU-Z is showing ~990mhz constantly, no matter how high load there is on the cpu, and what temperature it is(usually around 50-60C).
I just cant figure out what is going on, and why it keeps throttling. Everything is running really slow, chrome is slow, facebook is tough to scroll through. Tried resetting the power plans to default, that didnt work. sometimes it works for changing power plan, and the restarting, but its not consistent at all. What it could be?
How to confirm if win10 supports VBox? I've been having a few issues, specifically with ethernet / network drivers. First time ever tho.

I bought windows 10 around the time I made my PC (I did not get a free upgrade). So I have a product key and the orignal installation usb that came with it. Right now I have windows 10 running on my PC and installed on my HDD. Just wondering how to reinstall it on my new SSD for faster boot up.

I want to do this because we have many people who sign into the PC via our Active Directory through the network. If I can get a .reg file that just applies this to all users that would be awesome!
is it possible to uninstall the first installed OS (Windows 8.1) in the SSD that has also win 10 installed into the second partition without losing data in win 10? If not from windows tools maybe using some software? Currently this is how my SSD is:

I have, so far (my PC was upgraded to Windows 10 two days ago), found two applications that don't appear to be compatible but weren't flagged ahead of time. These are AnvSoft Any Video Converter Ultimate and Samsung Kies 3. I'm guessing I'll find more as time goes on.

View 1 RepliesI buy this laptop ROG GL552JX-DM019D together with Microsft Windows 10 Home English 64bit License OEM DVD . I tried to install the OS with Windows 10 from the DVD, but I could not, because after I typed the serial number of the DVD with OS , I received the following message:
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disk. Windows cannot be installed to this disk space. Windows must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS.".
when I reset my PC due to a pop up war from IE running in the background, My PC seems to be running better but I am missing preinstalled apps. Facebook, twitter is not there and when I went to windows store the message is ..

Shows the facebook icon and under it has the the file size and it just continues to say pending
So , I tiried the " fix " in powershell but some of the commands used do not exist it says. I even went to windows club to find out and their commands did not work in powershell either
