View 9 RepliesI have a Dell Venue 8 Pro with 1gb pf RAM and it seems generally slower with Win 10 than Win 8.1. I've compared fresh installs of both OSes and Win 10 is noticeably slower to me. I'm considering putting this tablet back on 8.1 and not upgrading to 10.
View 9 RepliesI just upgraded to Win 10 on my Acer Aspire One netbook, but cannot get the bottom of the display to be visible. The start button/task bar is off screen, and I cannot find a way to fix it.
The native display of the netbook is 1024X600, and display was set at 1024X768 in Win 7, and worked fine. Now, even if I set the display resolution back to 1024X600, the icons just get bigger, and the bottom ones are mostly off screen.
I even tried 800X600, but that was just worse.
Without the start button and task bar, it is hard to try anything.
I have an Asus x205at netbook with windows 8.1 installed. I have installed windows 10 preview via windows update . windows 10 runs terribly slow and jittery on my netbook.I have tried to rollback to win 8.1, recovery options etc but none of these options work all say they have encountered a problem.
i have installed the wifi driver but can not pickup any WiFi devices. my usb will not detect a usb modem.I have created a uefi bootable usb with a windows 8.1 64bit install but it will not install 64bit to my system as the cpu is 64bit but the efi is 32 bit. I tried with a 32bit win 8.1 but 32bit is not supported by microsoft with uefi install.
how to make windows as fast as possible :-)
View 7 RepliesSo far I only received a restore point for when I installed a LAN driver and when I make them manually. Why can't it create more like it used to?
View 4 RepliesI am using a small tablet with Windows on it. It already has little space (32GB which is actually 29 GB), with Windows eating up a ton of space. Now, with a virtual partition on the tablet reserved for system recovery, I have less than 5 GB left, not enough for Windows to update. I would like to merge the virtual partition so as to get ~5 GB extra space, in or to do so I would like to make a recovery disk on a SD-card.
The problem is, Windows does not seem to recognise the SD-card when I try to make a recovery disk! Is there a workaround, or did I get the SD-card in vain?
I've notice that on windows 10 and 8.1, task manager would show the my max cpu core speed is 2.3-2.4 ghz. However, my Core 2 Quad q8400 is rated at 2.66 ghz. I tried changing the power settings in windows and try lowering my cpu temperature, but my speed would never reach 2.66 ghz.
View 7 RepliesMy PC performance with Windows 10 is very good except when it isn't
One of the things that is perplexing me is that my external hard drives seem to be impacting my startup performance. Following start up Task Manager performance tab shows one of my external drives (G) working at nearly 100% and the noisy disk drive suggests that it is working hard. The disk transfer rate also indicates movement between the PC and the drive. This is despite Drive G being used only as a storage/backup device with no automated actions configured. Yesterday Drive G became very hot as a result.
If I disconnect Drive G, my second external hard drive Drive F takes its place and task manager shows the same activity as previously shown on G. If both drives are connected F shows no activity.
I'm facing a problem with the task manager. Suddenly both of my HDs stopped showing any activity in the task manager and are constantly show 0% although there is activity and despite the fact that in the resource monitor activity is shown properly. What the fault might be?
I think they've stopped after I connected an external HD. But I am not sure though so don't rely on that being the issue.
I have been having some really annoying performance problems after upgrading my laptop from win8 to win 10.
My laptop is a asus ux32vd, with an Intel i7-3517U cpu.(normal core speed: 1.7ghz, turbo: 2.4ghz)
CPU-Z is showing ~990mhz constantly, no matter how high load there is on the cpu, and what temperature it is(usually around 50-60C).
I just cant figure out what is going on, and why it keeps throttling. Everything is running really slow, chrome is slow, facebook is tough to scroll through. Tried resetting the power plans to default, that didnt work. sometimes it works for changing power plan, and the restarting, but its not consistent at all. What it could be?
Is it possible to make a .reg file to optimize my visual effects for best performance for all users that sign into one PC?
I want to do this because we have many people who sign into the PC via our Active Directory through the network. If I can get a .reg file that just applies this to all users that would be awesome!

View 3 RepliesI have downloaded all ISO images of Windows 10 through Media Creation Tool. Each ISO image is consisted on both versions (x86 and x64) of respective windows.
Now, I want to convert all Windows 10 ISO images in a single bootable USB in a way which will give me the list of selection of installation windows 10 at the time of installation.
Whenever I try to create a system image or run recimg I get error 12289 and the backup fails. System protection is turned on and maximum space used is set to 20%. I have no third party backup software installed and this is a real not virtual machine.

View 8 RepliesMy gamer Laptop (ASUS G55VW ROG) is now upgrated from Windows 7 SP1. It went smooth and without errors. Before fiddle around too much I want to make a bootable USB-key with Windows 10 installaion to make a clean install possible if I mess windows up so it can't boot. But how do I make this bootable USB-key? I know I can "reset" the PC from "settings", but that only works if it can boot .I had the understanding, that it would be possible to make a DVD or an USB-pen to make a clean install? And what about cd-key when cleaninstalling from that bootdevice?

I would like to make my PC more secure. Windows 10.

Is there any way to make selections and then update like we did in win7 or win8.1?
