I was more than disappointed to find after downloading this major update for Windows 10, that the Mouse settings have still not been addressed. Apparently, this is one of those flaws that will go on and on.
I am using an ASUS Rupublic of Games Laptop with an ELAN Input Device and a Logitech MX Revolution mouse with the latest updated software for that.
I have a kind of big problem with 10 Pro. My problem was "ok" in 8/8.1 Pro. As title says, I would like to give WiFi priority over ethernet. Why ? You may ask, I'm using laptop as a hyper-v machine ( prepare migrations from 2003/2008 to 2012 and others IT Admin things ). I know where to change priority but Settings aren't saved. Even after setting WiFi on top of ladder, after going to the settings again it's 3'rd. That way I have no internet connection because of my VM Networks and their DNS settings.

The plan was to use the SSD as the primary drive (C: ) and the HDD as the slave drive (D: ). I have reinstalled Photoshop CS6 onto my SSD and I planned to continue saving my files onto the HDD, however it continues to display this message whenever I try:
I tried changing ownership as suggested here: Windows 10: You don't have permission to save in this location..... and here: Owner of Files and Folders - Change in Windows 10 and it seemed to go as they said it would... but I still have the same problem.
Am I able to operate programs through C: and then save them on D: ?
2 out of the 3 computers at work I have installed Windows 10 Pro on, have an issue of when I reboot the computer, the desktop icons, that were arranged in a certain way, have now all moved to the very left of the desktop. I am running Classic Shell on the machines and so get a desktop view immediately when booting. It's annoying. Windows 8.1 does not do this.
My work computer has both XP and Windows 10 PRO on it as a dual boot. It had a Windows 10 preview edition on it since back in April or May. Then when we decided to move into Windows 10, I merely bought a DVD of Win 10 Pro and when running in that preview OS on the one partition I installed the DVD and did and upgrade. Works fine, but every once in a while I see the explorer view of folders and when I close the folder {X} it magically appears again and click the X again to close it.
For the time I installed a program called DesktopOK ver 4.16 on the one computer and seems to be holding it's own so far (no moving icons back over to the extreme left.

This happened after install of November update, or 1511 (for the 11th month of 2015), or build 10586 windows 10 update.
I recently built a computer about two weeks ago. Everything had been great up until today. These are the following error messages that occur about 10 seconds after seeing the windows 10 desktop and all the way until the starting of windows.
Bad pool caller
Bad pool header
System service header
Dpc watchdog violation
Kmode exception... (I couldn't get the rest)
I have about 10 seconds of desktop before a error message or a freeze. I've tried safe mode and it locks up, ive tried trying to repair windows from the boot disk and it loads forever or locks up. Maybe the two week old hardrive has failed?
I have a laptop and use an external wireless mouse.With Windows 7 and 8 I had the mouse device settings set to "Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached" checked. I would turn on the laptop, get to my desktop and receive a notification that the internal device was disabled.
Since upgrading to Windows 10, I have noticed that disabling the internal device does not stick. Every time I turn on the laptop, I have to go to Mouse/Device Settings and check that box. Yes, I do click Apply when I check it and it does disable it. At least it does until I turn on the laptop the next time. How to get the setting to stick so I don't have keep checking that box?
I notice that the Mouse settings still will not be saved in Windows 10. This is one of those things that will drag on for ever before we see it fixed?
View 5 RepliesI downloaded Windows 10 a few days ago, and every time I turn off my computer and log back in, my mouse settings revert back to their defaults. The defaults have a lot of annoying extra features, and the scroll is backwards. Every time I change the mouse settings to my preferences and apply them, on the next restart they are back to defaults.
How to make my settings permanent? I'm sure once a patch or two for Windows 10 comes in the problem will sort itself out, but in the meantime?
Just upgraded to 10. Not blown away so far, but it's a lot less stupid than 8. Glad they gave it away for free, seems like the fair thing to do considering they actually charged people money for 8.
Anyway, I'm here because my mouse settings keep reverting back to factory every time I restart the laptop. I can't stand finger gestures and tap to click, but they keep coming back like a bad case of herpes. Unlike my herpes, I'm still hoping I can cure this problem.
I see a lot of people have had the same problem recently but most when using Logitech/Synaptics. My problem is with the Microsoft basic optical mouse v2.0.
View 3 RepliesSo, I recently upgraded to windows 10, and I was trying to change some settings to do with my mouse, and when I tried to open the additional mouse options: settings>devices>Mouse & Touchpad, but whenever I click "addition mouse options" an error comes up saying "windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them" however, I have administrator access on my computer. This was working before I upgraded to windows 10 (I was on windows 7)
View 4 RepliesI have successfully activated hibernate mode (S4), yet whenever the PC is hibernated a shake of the mouse or the press of any key on the keyboard just wakes and turns on the PC. Needless to say I do not want this to happen. Hibernate (S4) works as confirmed by the fact that when it's waken up, the PC goes through the POST phase of the boot before loading W10. In addition a powercfg /a gives the following output

Sleep (S3) works too. Although it seems to have the same effects on the hardware (turns off the CPU fan), the waking up it's much quicker, without POST. In addition, here's the log from Windows event viewer:

I saw threads about people complaining that their audio and mouse is lagging, but in my case, it happens when I download something with bittorrent or when I'm installing something.
on Win 8.1 and Win 7 I have no problems playing games while something is downloading in the background, now on Win 10 64bit I can't even normally play music either on youtube or on windows media player.
Hard disk usage is hardly 40% and starts cutting, and cpu is not more than 60%.. But when I download something from Bittorrent or when i'm installing, a process named "System Interrupted" pops up in Task Manager and consumes CPU(10%-20%).
My audio is realtek, and it is updated (22-09-2015) and so is my graphic card and everything else. I saw that process "System Interrupted" is usually visible when there is a driver problem.
I've really had it with Windows 10 now. The latest upgrade made my computer slow to a crawl, and disabled my ability to change the features on my Logitech mouse. The mouse now moves 1:1, so that I must move it 18" to get from one side of the screen to the other. The Logitech website claims the mouse is for Windows 7, not 10, so I must buy a new mouse? It worked fine before this last upgrade.
I would really like to go back to Windows 7, but my restore disks don't seem to work. Perhaps buying Windows 7 disks has become worth it.
Microsoft has shown their incompetence with their latest upgrade. We used to run a program to optimize compiled code to make it faster. That concept must be unknown to Microsoft.
This morning when I logged on my Surface Pro (1), my Micosoft Wedge mouse quit working after it finished installing a Win 10 update. The mouse shows up in Device Mgr/Bluetooth, and it says it is working properly, but it isn't. I've tried reinstalling the driver, and checking bluetooth settings but cannot find what the problem is.

View 8 RepliesAny way of making it so that when I press the Power Button on my Windows 10 desktop that the computer will power down without me having to click with the mouse to turn off various programs or clicking the "restart anyway" button that appears. I managed to do this with windows XP in the past. I think it might have been a registry alteration?
View 6 RepliesI have had this issue for only a couple of days now. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers for the mouse, sound card, and headset, which still hasn't worked. I've seen other sites talking about an "Intel Technologies Access Services" which isn't showing up in my task manager or services (I'm assuming that's a good thing). I guess I'm just not exactly sure what else to try at this point.
View 5 RepliesI have this constant loading going on somewhere in my computer. it interferes with my games or if I put anything to full screen it automatically pulls it out of full screen and minimizes it. It also interferes with my typing. If I'm trying to type in an address to go to a website the flashing loading will make it so I have to keep clicking in the address bar to finish typing out the address. auto saved usernames are also an issue. where I'll type the first three letters of my username. It will pull up then immediately disappear. I have to be really fast to click it or result to the constant clicking of the username bar to put my username in.
Also an issue with right clicking anything. the right click "open, delete, new folder, etc" will come up and before I can move to click what I want it disappears. I restarted my computer and it went away once. I thought the issue was resolved and paid no attention to it. I then turned my computer off and back on after a virus scan and the problem persists again. I tried turning the computer off and on again but again the problem continues. how I can find whats constantly loading/causing the flashing loading icon next to my mouse?
I have a Surface 3 Pro with 2 external monitors hooked up using StarTech USB VGA adapters. Since the update, my mouse does not show up on my remote Windows Server 2008 R2 VM's when the Remote Desktop window is on one of the external monitors (works on the Surface Screen). The cursor is there, just cannot see it.

I drag a season of TV over to a hard drive, drag another season over while that one is copying, and all of them copy slower and slower to all finish at the same time. I'd like a Consecutive copy rather than a Concurrent copy. Seems like a small thing, and rather than installing alternate file management programs (teracopy) I was wondering if there was a slick way to change it natively in WIn10?

I want to have my settings set to Adjust for best appearance but when I restart the computer, it'll be set to custom but all of my settings will still have a check mark in the check boxes but not all of them will take affect until I change it back to adjust for best performance which I think is only a couple of options not taking affect.

But when I click on music files, it automatically starts playing in Groove and NOT windows media player. I have restarted Windows several times with the same results.
View 2 RepliesI added a registry tweak that unlocked the power option to park the CPU...I am running a PC so battery life or power use is not an issue..just want to be clear about the min and max settings....thought it would be just ON or OFF...its the %s that confuse me....So if i set the min to 100% I assume that turns oof parking completely ?If I set max to 100% this allows the CPU to go to the max it can ? So is the min setting for parking ? and the max to just restrict the max the CPU will run ?If these assumptions are correct....what are the %s in between for ?
