Pixelated Lines Of Color Preventing Startup

Sep 10, 2015

Alright, I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro shortly after it released. By upgraded, I mean performed a clean install.

More or less, the computer has worked fine for the weeks since. Now, for the past 2 days, I have been unable to use it because at startup the computer's keyboard and mouse turn off, and the screen displays broken lines of pixelated green, pink, and blue. (To be clear, I make it into and/or past the BiOS totally fine)

I don't have many support options due to the fact this PC was put together by me. So, to that end, my specs are:

MSI Z87-G45 mobo
Intel i7-4770k (no overclocking at present)
NVIDIA GTX 760
Samsung EVO 120GB SSD (have reinstalled Windows 10 solely on this, still producing the same errors)
[Random Thermaltake something something] 750W gold-rated PSU
Corsair h100 series liquid cooling

As I said, everything had been working fine. Then I put the computer to sleep, and when I returned the next day, the screen flashed white fuzziness. On restarting from that, the colored lines are all that happens. I am able to boot into safe mode. That is another weird thing, the colored lines (and keyboard/mouse power off) don't happen until after I go through the bios screen, and see the initial Windows 10 loading screen, then they shut off, and the screen turns to the lines within 20 seconds after.

I'm pretty lost. I'm assuming since I can force it into safe mode (at that split second when I have the windows 10 load screen), the problem is lying with hardware. I have confirmed all wiring is correct, dust is clear, and everything looks/sounds as it should. The only thing that was happening before this was that I would get intermittent "Nvidia kernal has stopped working, but has recovered" notifications popping up. As I type this I'm sort of realizing my graphics card must be done.

Computer Will Shut Down - Pixelated Blue Screen?

Sep 7, 2015

Starting today, every once in a while my computer will shut down and show the new blue screen of death, which shows the sad face and it says how it is collecting information. However the image is always at 100%, doesnt fill my entire screen, and is pixelated. Honestly it just looks like a picture ripped off google. Which makes me think it is a virus.

Live Stream Videos Playback Choppy And Pixelated

Dec 12, 2015

I produce a LIVE STREAM video show online every Saturday via youtube and google hangout.  I am using the windows 10 operating system.  Here lately every show that I do, once it is finished and I go to watch it, my program plays back....choppy and pixelated.  My viewers are watching it LIVE and they tell me that it is doing the same thing LIVE, it is coming across extremely distorted. I have checked my internet speed with my ISP. They actually came out to my place and said there is nothing wrong with my internet upload or download speed.  I have 40 mbps down, and 5 mbps up.  So I am not sure what else to check.

And behind the pop-up, windows is indicating that the DDE Server Window is preventing shutdown. Sits there until the okay to terminate is clicked.

Endless Loading Screen Preventing Login

Mar 10, 2016

Both of the last two cumulative updates have resulted in the endless loading circles with the solid color background, right before the login textbox. Before I was restoring to before the update to fix the problem. I also used the show/hide update tool to prevent the update from installing again. But yesterday's cumulative update has the same problem. Any way to fix it without reinstalling windows? If I wait 8 hours or so, I can usually log in, though the screen locking after 15 minutes has the same issue.

I can remote desktop in from an android tablet.I can press ctrl alt del and restart from the endless loading screen.I have tried the dism and sfc commands, neither of which worked.I have also tried turning off fast boot and disabling my video cards.

Security :: Unknown Chinese App Preventing Signing Out

Aug 16, 2015

When signing out of windows 10 this week I noticed a message that appeared for a few seconds, telling me that an app was preventing signing out. The title of the app in question was expressed in what appear to be Chinese symbols. See attached photos of the message.I have never before seen an app or program like this(ie one with chinese symbols) and am concerned that it is something malicious such as spyware. I searched for this app on both task manager and on the program list (accessed via control panel), but couldn't find it, which makes me more suspicious - this could mean it is deliberately hidden, or simply that I am looking in the wrong place!For what it is worth, my McAfee subscription is up to date. Have just run a full scan - no issues detected.

Preventing Windows Or Driver Update From Reinstalling

Jul 29, 2015

IF needed .... How to temporarily prevent a Windows or driver update from reinstalling in Windows 10

'Symptoms: In Windows 10, your device is always kept up to date with the latest features and fixes. Updates and drivers are installed automatically, with no need to select which updates are needed or not needed. In rare cases, a specific driver or update might temporarily cause issues with your device, and in this case you will need a way to prevent the problematic driver or update from reinstalling automatically the next time Windows Updates are installed.'

Drivers :: Horizontal Lines Flickering - AMD Graphics Card

Aug 2, 2015

I've had a problem with windows 10 and my acer PC with an AMD chipset. I constantly have black horizontal lines flickering across my screen. It is worse when running games or Chrome.

I've had this problem before in Ubuntu when I tried using proprietary drivers instead of the default open source ones.
I didn't have this problem before I upgraded from windows 7 sp1.

It doesn't stop me using the PC but is rather annoying ^^.

I would attach a screenshot but I can't seem to get a line in a screenshot

PC: Acer aspire 7750g with internal SSD and HDD
Graphics hardware: AMD Radeon 6600M and 6700M graphics chipset.
Driver version: 15.20-150715a-184226E driver with CCC version 2015.0715.2138.37093

Apps :: Text Editor With Multiple Search Replace Lines

Sep 8, 2015

I am looking for a text editor which will allow me to take multiple lines from one text file (I also have the information in a spreadsheet) and will then replace then lines in another line of that document.

I am trying to make a list for my books and comics.

<Book Series="{name}" Number="{no.}" Volume="{year}" </Book>
<Book Series="{name}" Number="{no.}" Volume="{year}" </Book>

For the comics it would need to replace the above format so;

<Book Series="{Batman}" Number="{01}" Volume="{2011}" </Book>
