View 3 RepliesI followed all instructions on closing tabs at shutdown but nothing works.
View 7 Repliesmy CD player keeps popping open ever since windows 10 installĀ
View 4 RepliesThe search box keeps popping open at random. I turned off Cortana but the search box keeps coming on. This is very annoying. If I want to do a search I'll open it myself. How can I stop the Cortana / Search box from popping itself on?
View 2 RepliesIn Windows 8 simply double clicking an application would open it but after upgrading it to Windows 10, the application doesn't start up unfolds it's opened from the right clicked menu.
View 3 RepliesFiles, mainly photos won't open and come up with error box: " The application cannot be started because it is currently updating"....
View 1 RepliesSay I set MPV as the default media player. For ALL media types. Then I go into my music library via file explorer and double-click an mp3. It will ask me which app I want to open it in "or keep using MPV".
Even though there's a "Always open using this app" checkbox, it doesn't listen to it and if I shut my computer down or even just log out, it completely resets that open with dialogue... so if I go to double-click an MP3 again, it pops up.
I've double-checked that MPV has control over it's mime types in the control panel (not just the Settings app), and like I said it asks if I want to "keep using MPV". And that's just one example, it does it with my web browser more often than my media player.
I bought Lenovo Y5070 laptop recently with these specs: Intel Corei7 4720, 16 gig Ram, Geforce GTX 960m 4 Gig DDR5, and the second graphic card of intel 4600.
I installed windows 10 on this laptop with the latest drivers but I have a big issue with multitasking, e.g. I can not run photoshop easily when another application is open, it takes time and a lag and small hanging (sometimes) to open the second application (for example media player).
My email on Windows 10 keeps closing when I'm using it and returning to my desktop - it's very annoying. I am using a brand new laptop and downloaded Windows 10 about a week ago.
View 3 RepliesI followed Brink's tutorial here: Shut Down Computer in Windows 10 And I saw that there are 2 ways to fully shutdown Windows through cmd: /s and /p. What is the difference between these 2, if both of them are said to perform a full shutdown?
View 3 RepliesI just upgraded to Windows 10 a few days ago and ever since, I've been getting a random popping noise in my speakers. I have tried everything I can think of. I've updated my drivers and my Bios. (From HP site) I've uninstalled and reinstalled the audio (Realtek) driver. This problem never happened in Windows 8. I'm about to switch back to Windows 8.
View 3 RepliesSince I upgraded to Windows 10, many things have been problematic. However, my issue currently is that the Date and Time keep popping up and remain popped up. I am referring to the one which shows and entire month calendar, along with the time, day, etc. It would usually occur upon clicking on the time and date in the lower left hand corner. Whenever I click that to get rid of the expanded version, it shows up again a few seconds later as if I clicked on it.
View 3 RepliesI have noticed a couple times while using my laptop that my ram and memory usage goes up while doing nothing. I go and check processes and find that store, calc, movies & tv, calendar and mail are all running even though I haven't opened them up. Are they updating in the background? I usually will just end them, but if there is a reason they are running than I'll just let them be.
View 2 RepliesI have noticed this problem come up on my Dell 7537 (Check out my profile for details) when I close the lid to put the computer to sleep, the HDD light turns off, but the fan continues to run, even after several hours. When I open the lid back up, it is just a black screen where I have to hold the power button to do a hard reset. The same thing happens with initiating a shutdown sequence, although that one only does it some of the time.
View 3 RepliesI installed Windows 10, but now when I try to open Settings, it appears then disappears instantly. I tried rebooting but it changed nothing. Also... when I right click and choose Personalize... it won't come up
View 1 RepliesWhen ever I walk away from the computer for a little while, when I return all more programs have closed. I'm not sure what minimum amount of time passes before this happens but after an hour it's always displays this behavior.
View 6 RepliesI downloaded Windows 10 yesterday evening on my new laptop, which, according to the tests I ran prior, is fully Windows 10 compatible. Nevertheless, just since downloading Windows 10, when I fold down the laptop's screen to close it, it freezes. I open it to a black frozen screen that is unresponsive whether I tap the touchscreen, keys and/or power button. Therefore, since Windows 10, I have to reboot my laptop every time I open it in order to use it, which is an inconvenience that nobody should have to suffer. The laptop never had so much as the slightest glitch before Windows 10, and I want Microsoft to fix this.
View 24 Replieswhy the Command window keeps popping up all the time and I did look up as to whats going on and can't seem to find the problem, restart, turned it off and just let it sit there doing nothing and yet still pops up, the 29th is when everyone was able to get it so I did and have not had this problem with windows 8.
View 7 RepliesAfter upgrading to 10 there is a program window that opens for about one second then closes every 45 seconds on top of whatever I am doing
View 7 RepliesI don't know what triggers it and have yet to zero in on some gesture or part of the screen that calls up the black box.
But sometimes it just seems like it randomly pops up when I'm doing something and I have to X it.
On my Windows 10 installation (Home, 64-bit), I have disabled "Show app notifications" AND "Show me tips about Windows".
However, every now and then a message pops up (from the "Action Centre" just next to the clock) stating "Language typing feature - Install typing features for your language".
I do not want to install any language features, how can I disable this?
My default libraries keep popping back up, after they've been deleted.
Camera roll, pictures, saved pictures, music, videos - they won't die. Sure would like them to.
When i click on the icons located on the system tray (Battery, Wifi, sound volume, notification, and time). nothing happens.
View 6 RepliesI've just installed windows 10 on my laptop. Initially a box on the left hand side telling me about cortana kept popping up so I switched cortanat off. Now the box just keeps popping up constantly, asking me to start typing to search the web or for apps etc.
I'm not 100% sure yet but it seems to be connected to scrolling down but also seems to be popping up quite randomly. In the last half hour it has popped up at various intervals from as little as 10-20 seconds to as 'long' as 2-3 minutes. There is no 'close' box and I can't see how to get rid of this really annoying feature.
So, I have a windows 10 desktop and I'm having this issue with my Realtek Audio Driver. Every time I enable any sound effects to adjust the EQ for my audio device, I begin to hear a popping or crackling sound whenever any audio is heard. But if I disable the EQ effects, the problem is gone. I've tried installing Realtek's Windows 10 drivers but the problem persists.
View 1 RepliesEverytime I open the messages tile, this message keeps popping out, authentication required, continue or cancel. What's this about? I'm on windows 10 mobile.
