Aug 11, 2015I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 ~5 days ago. Since then, Powerpoint 2013 opens/works fine, and saves/opens new files.
But any Powerpoint 2013 file that I work on on a Windows 7 machine or that a colleague sends me from a Windows 7 machine appears with an error message. "Powerpoint found a problem with content in xxx . PowerPoint can attempt to repair the presentation. If you trust the source of this presentation, click Repair." If I click 'repair', then it simply tells me it cannot open the file. (To be explicit - if I then open the file on a Windows 7 machine, it still opens fine.)
Troubleshooting:
- I have tried to repair the file - nothing happens
- Both versions of PowerPoint are PowerPoint 2013
- This applies whether pptx or ppt file
- I have tried 'quick' and 'complete' repair without success

Sep 1, 2015I am running Windows 10 via Boot Camp on the new MacBook Retina. I have always had the slimmest/lightest notebook as I travel extensively for work and the new Apple product is impossible to beat in that regard (and Sony went out of the VAIO business). I hate OSX, never run it, I just boot straight to Windows 10 and things are awesome. Except...
I am usually the key presenter at important board meetings and customer meetings. I have a big/heavy notebook at work which I use 90% of the time, but when I hit the road I'm using my sleek/light Windows 10 MacBook. Issue is, when I arrive at my destination and am shown to the presentation room, I boot up Windows 10, launch the Powerpoint file from Dropbox, and -boom-, within 5 minutes I'm speaking in front of a large group.
I am concerned that at my next presentation, I'll whip out my thin/light notebook and as I start presenting I'll see some message about Windows 10 updating -or- Windows 10 needing a reboot to install updates.
Does Windows 10 know enough not to interrupt a full-screen Powerpoint presentation? Is there a mode to disable automatic updates? Or with its new update protocol I am at risk of an embarrassing update moment at my next series of live presentations?
Screen Goes Black / Disappears
Oct 14, 2015Upon start up of my PC it loads up then the screen goes blank, like its in sleep mode, no mouse nothing, if I turn the monitor on and off, the screen appears for a second or two then disappears again.
I tried restarting in safe to check drivers but it does exactly the same thing here. In safe mode however, under monitors Generic PNP Monitor has the Yellow Exclamation mark indicating an issue. I have tried uninstalling this and also my graphics drivers and it seemed to work for the first time. Next day I turned on my PC again and the same thing is happening. I have to constantly turn on and off my monitor so I can navigate to the relevant areas to uninstall drivers etc.
I have tried a Google search but everything I have read has said something about having a mouse pointer on a blank screen but I do not even have that.
My graphics are built in, not a separate card which the driver for this is labelled Intel HD(R) Graphics. Unfortunately I do not have access to another monitor to check to see if the monitor is faulty. Just to add, this just started randomly before a fresh Windows 10 install.

Quick Access Disappears On Startup
Feb 2, 2016I upgraded to Windows 10 several months ago and the Quick Access menu was working normally. A few months back however, all of the pinned items disappeared and I cannot pin anything to the quick access menu either.
I can find and all I have been able to do is temporarily fix the problem by deleting the "5f7b5f1e01b83767.automaticDestinations-ms" file in the C:UsersRobAppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsRecentAutomaticDestinations folder.
Deleting this file does bring back the quick access folders that I had pinned before this problem started to happen, but every time I restart my computer, the quick access menu is again empty and nothing can be pinned to it.

Sep 2, 2015I updated my tablet from win 8.1 to win 10. I pinned the store app to my taskbar and is was there for a while, but then disappeared. When you point the mouse to where the icon should be, the app is there and will open, but you see no icon. This also happens for the netflix icon and the shazam icon. All other icons are okay. I honestly am not sure if this started before the upgrade, I think it did, but not positive. I have tried to unpin and repin them, but the same thing happens.

I still get the black screen after I restart, but I just press the power button on my laptop, put it to sleep and then I press some button (any) and it's fine.

of the screen but I have it expanded to 2 rows, e.g. twice as "thick" vertically as the default. When I right-click on any pinned icons on the bottom row and move the mouse up vertically to access the jump list of that particular program, the jump list
disappears. It seems to be a focus problem of sorts as if I resize the taskbar back to the default, the issue doesn't happen.

Feb 23, 2016Recently my mouse pointer has been disappearing when the system wakes in Windows 10 Pro. I can still see it highlighting when moving the mouse and the dialog open with a right click. It only comes back if I open the Task Manager or a separate window. Strangely if I manually put the computer to sleep through the power menu this issue does not seem to appear, it only shows when the computer sleeps after the allotted time.
Not sure if this is an issue with Nvidia Drivers or a Windows Update.

When my computer comes alive from screen saver mode, sometimes though not always all the icons are missing. The task bar is there but clicking on any item there does nothing. It's like everything just seizes up.

The result are icons with a black border but without and graphics. Have run the DISM utilities and SFC /scannow. A re-boot corrects the icons back to a normal state.

Text Disappears When Mouse Rolls Over Button?
Aug 11, 2015I recently upgraded to Win 10 from Win 7. I thought the upgrade went very smoothly.
After I started exploring I noticed that the text in what I call buttons disappears when the mouse moves over it. For example:After pressing the left mouse button on the start prompt when I move the mouse up to high lite all apps or power or settings the text in the button disappears. The button still functions normally. I also have noted that buttons imbedded in some email do not show at all.

Dec 17, 2015My windows 10 laptop acts really weird with the the audio devices. I am using a tascam audio card for some audio editing and the internal realtek for everything else. Since i installed windows 10, the audio playback will stop whenever i am playing a game or talking on skype. It might do it or might not, but it happens everyday usually about 20 minutes of using the computer. Then, i have to restart the laptop so that everything goes back to normal. Thats it, the sound stops, and i have to restart.

Opened Small Frontal Window 1 Disappears Behind Other Ones?
Oct 26, 2015I mostly work with many programs simultaneously . For Ex. 9 programs1-9. I clicked on the program icon1 (at the task-bar) and wanted to reach its opened (smaller) window1, but before my mouse reach it, it just disappeared behind other (bigger) opened windows2-9.
Ok, if I minimize windows 2-9 and just let only window1 on the desktop, I always can reach it, for sure. The problem: it is just annoying, time consuming & distracting to have to minimize the other 8 windows2-9, just to be able to access the window1 I'm needing. The click on the program icon1 only shows up its window, but doesn't command it to STAY IN FRONT TILL I SWITCH to other programs.
I'm speaking from working hierarchy/ efficiency, I simultaneously need other programs 2-9 too, but depending on the workflow, I instantly only want to reach the program1 at first.
Explorer Refreshes Taskbar Disappears And Appears?
Sep 22, 2015Since I upgraded to windows 10 and a new cheap ram 4 gb I have had this problem where the explorer.exe process refreshes.
It is the same thing that happens with android smartphones when you have open to many programs and when you try to go to home everything disappears and appears again because it is refreshing the home process.
Or used to happen with window 7 or 8 where everything disappears and you had to open explorer from task manger to continue to use the computer again if you remember.
Now this happens when i am using chrome because that is all I do on the computer and chrome is known for eating ram and the ram is constantly over 60% .
This happens too frequently it is not one of those things that happened once in a while like it would with windows xp 7 or 8.
These are my theories but I still don't know what cause this.
Do i need to add more ram or is this a bug from windows 10 ?
