View 9 RepliesI am unable to print any email - either by using [Ctrl] +P or by clicking on the Print button in the dropdown menu. I get a message saying: "Nothing was sent to print. Open a document and print again" .... Windows 10
View 2 RepliesAs of yesterday, when I press the PrntScr (Print Screen) button on my laptop, it does not copy to the clipboard. So for example, if I PrntScr my desktop and try to paste it in MS Word or MS Paint or anything, it will simply not paste anything, or paste the last thing that was on the clipboard. If I open the clipboard and take a screenshot of something, nothing happens on the clipboard.
I know the physical key is still working because I have Dropbox screenshots enabled, and whenever I press PrntScr, it shows me a notification saying that the screenshot has been saved. Also, ALT+PrntScr seems to work, but that's only for the current window, and I frequently screenshot my entire workspace. I'm not looking for alternative screen capture software -- I like the simplicity of the PrntScr key.
This key had been working fine for me for the last year I've had this laptop. No software was installed or anything like that over the last couple of days.
I was printing emails ok from the windows 10 mail app on Sunday but when I tried today, the print panel was different ( black and different layout, rather than normel screen) and emails would not print. On clicking print box there was no indication of anything happening and no message. I am able to print from documents on my pc and see the print panel I expect. If I go into, say gmail via the web I can print ok and again see the print panel I expect?
View 5 RepliesI am unable to print anything from Windows 10 apps on my desktop PC. Both my HP Envy 7640 and Samsung Laser are wired to the home network.
However I can print from Chrome Browser and Paint, Photoshop and Word. Just not from the Mail app or Edge Browser. After pressing print a section opens up with the printer listed in a drop down menu, but says "connecting" all the time, which it never does.
I have used the troubleshooting feature, removed the printers and installed them again, even via the add a printer option on the apps themselves, but nothing has worked.
To print an e-mail I have to open Chrome and access the email provider site directly.
I would like to copy all of my email contacts from my laptop (windows 10) to my new Apple air2 ipad. and if so how is it done? Can they all be copies together, or does it have to be done 1 at a time?
View 3 RepliesSo, instead of using my browser for my emails I set them up in Windows Mail, but although it will show all the folders it won't show anything in my inboxes. I've tried syncing but to no avail.
View 1 RepliesI refuse to believe that Microsoft would have omitted this basic function. How does one Import from Windows Live Mail into the Windows 10 Mail App?
View 6 RepliesAll mail and calendar events have vanished and will not sync.
MS when they can't even make an email client?
Upgraded to Windows 10.
Everything was fine for about a month until I had a disk crash. After several days I got that fixed and did a clean install of Windows 10.
Now I am trying to reinstall Outlook 2010 from the original DVD. Valid product key (setup validates it).
Setup runs, then encounters an error (doesn't tell me what), and backs off all files.
As far as I can tell, Windows 10 is saying the SETUP file is incompatible, not Outlook 2010 which Microsoft states is still compatible with Windows 10.
having problems printing out an email attachment I can go into it put can't print it out.
View 5 RepliesWe all know that IE, Firefox, etc have the option to copy the download link of an ongoing download job. But it seems Microsoft had something really great in mind and has apparently removed that feature from Microsoft Edge I wonder wheres the 'Edge'??
how to bring back the useful 'copy download link' option of an ongoing download link in Edge?
I have never had any problems printing attachments until today, which tells me it must be a system difference (I recently downloaded Windows 10 to my computer)
When I searched it advised to open the FILE TAB, under printer CLICK PRINT OPTIONS, in the print dialog box select PRINT ATTACHED FILES BOX...
I only know of one file tab and I cannot access it from my email.
the email offered an update to windows live mail ,so I did it and now mail will not stay open ,,, I cant even get to the email to copy its contents here ,I will have to look on my other machine to get it ... I never line the new mail app ,just because it new maybe and not use to it, I will use outlook.com instead for Microsoft mail..
View 9 RepliesI need to reinstall Windows 10 on a duel booting computer, on separate drives and whilst I can transfer most of the personal data off the Win 10 drive to a new temp folder on the other drive and then back later to a newly installed clean version of Win 10 on the original drive, I cannot ascertain the various email data files (all of them). I have 4 separate email accounts in "live mail".
View 3 RepliesI have been using Windows Live Mail for years and have 3 email accounts synced in it. After some recent changes to my PC, the program is suddenly very slow to change between email folders. What I mean specifically is if I click on one inbox, and then click on my deleted folder, there is literally a 5 second delay before the view is switched to the new folder. This has never happened before, it normally take mere milliseconds to change between my email folders. Switching between any folders at all, even if they are empty, takes 5 seconds!!
As for the changes made to my pc, I recently was screwing around with my drive partitions and made a really stupid mistake. I accidentally created a new volume which took up my whole secondary HDD (not my OS drive, but where my emails are stored). Some quick google searching got me a free software that recovered my partitions and after a quick reboot my PC appeared to be working fine again. Except for Windows Live Mail... which when I opened had lost all my email accounts. I re-added them, and for some reason they started to download all my emails from the internet and wouldn't recognize the mail folders where all my emails are stored on my secondary hard drive.
It took over an hour to download all the emails again, which were stored in the default location on my OS drive. I normally keep them on a secondary HDD to save space on my OS SSD, so I was forced to delete all the emails on my secondary HDD where I normally keep them and then direct Windows Live Mail to move all the emails it had just downloaded to the location I just deleted my emails from.
So at the end of the day I made a really dumb mistake, fixed it, and then had to do this weird workaround solution to get my email storage working the way I am used to. All this screwing around now when I use my email it is super slow to switch between folders...
I have already tried doing a full defrag of the drive where my email is stored, as well as a repair of windows live essentials from the control panel. I have heard that addons can cause problems like this in WLM but until today I didn't even know WLM had addons. What I can do before I try reinstalling Windows Live Mail. If I do that I will have to re-download all my emails again...
slow to learn with my windows 10..question is,I can't find the button for "print" when i'm viewing my gmail..Where is it. Is there a different way to print?
View 4 RepliesI've already been to the Custom Default Programs settings, Yahoo! Mail is not listed. I want to be able to use a program not related to a browser, with an E-mail link, and it automatically send me to a browser with my E-mail so I can start composing the message.
How can I do this on Windows 10?
The Mail app is no longer syncing my email automatically. I have to open the app and click the sync button manually for email to update.
I see the app no longer runs in the background as it did when I first upgraded to Windows 10.
And if not, is there an alternative mail client that you recommend that will run in the background and sync emails?
This might be a really stupid question but i CANNOT find the setting to combine all my email accounts on the Windows 10 email app and it's really frustrating me, i searched all over google and can't find anything I just dont see the option anywhere.
View 4 RepliesRight now, if you select Microsoft Print to PDF under Print, it sends the file to the Documents folder in OneDrive.
Where do I change the location so it saves it to the Documents folder on the PC?
I have an Outlook account, of course, but I don't use it. Instead I use my Yahoo email, but for some reason the new app won't let me add it. Instead it only wants my Outlook email. Is there and way to add a Yahoo email?
This is what I get when I select Add Account in Mail settings.
Given command for print in Edge is opening the Print Dialogue Box on full page (screenshot attached).
Sometimes the the taskbar overlap the print button. Is there a way to open this box in small size.
The print spooler chokes on both of my Windows 10 machines when trying to deal with certain pdf files. For instance when I tried to print [URL] ... via my browser (Chrome), it printed the first 6 pages, but the printer showed an error when it came to the seventh page. When I then tried to create another job just to print the seventh page, it just hung around in the print spool and nothing happened at the printer.
I tried this several times on two machines. It was also impossible either to cancel the job in the print queue manager or to stop the spooler in the services manager in order to manually clear the print queue, which meant that the only way I could clear the queue was to restart the machine. I got the same behaviour whether I was printing to my physical printer or to the MS pdf printer. I also got the same behaviour when I tried to print from a different browser (Edge). This is not the first time I have had a problem with an unprintable file like this in Windows 10.
there doesn't seem to be a way to print a standard 6x4 photo using the Windows print function for pictures. how to do this as it was possible on earlier versions of Windows.
