View 8 RepliesI have a high resolution screen, so the taskbar seems disproportionately small by default/ In prior versions of Windows I would just increase the taskbar height and icons would adjust in size accordingly, but not so with Windows 10. How can I resize them, or is this deature just not implemented yet? I am using build 10130

Ever since i install windows 10 i've not being able to use the commands on my functional keys and also i can't reduce or increase the brightness on my pc.
View 1 RepliesI am using Internet explorer 11 with Windows 10 pro 64 bit.
I am referring to the controls in the upper right corner of the webpage window (the minus sign, the overlapping squares and the "X" symbols). The minus sign and the X do what they are supposed to do. The overlapping squares symbol is completely inert when it is clicked. Thus all I have is a full screen or no screen at all. I thought this was a browser issue, but I got the same dead overlapping squares when I used a third party browser. So I am thinking this is an operating system problem, perhaps the new Universal Windows Platform. I have been using Windows 10 since August. This inability to reduce a page window size started three days ago. Could have been an update or perhaps something I did.
What do I keep doing to decrease the size of the icons on my desktop? It's not killing me, but it's INCREDIBLY annoying to have to resize the icons every three minutes. This never happened in Windows 8.1 by the way.
View 9 RepliesProbably a simple answer, but I can't find out how?
View 2 RepliesMy desktop icons will not open full size. Each time I open one I have to maximize it to full size.
This has only happened recently, I presume since the last auto update.
How do I reset to open full size automatically.
How do I change the font size of my desktop icons in Windows 10 ?
In old versions of Windows you could do that thru Control Panel Display Appearance
But i don't see that in Windows 10. How to do it ?
So, I decided to just do a reinstall of Windows 10 after having a couple of issues and downloading software such as iObit that is questionable at best (just found that out, glad I did some research online) and everything has been going really smoothly in terms of updating programs, apps, etc., but I just found this weird glitch or bug if you will. Take a look at the screenshot attached. Doing the simple ctrl+mouse wheel will make the desktop icons larger or smaller, but for some reason the text size is still SUPER small. My resolution settings are normal for Windows 10 (250% recommended) and I've never encountered this issue before.
View 8 RepliesI would like to change the size of text in certain windows. In this screenshot you can see a window with somewhat small text which I would like to enlarge. Ironically, it's explaining my options for increasing the size of text in some situations but it doesn't appear to offer an option to increase the size of itself. This however, is the text I want to increase the size of. I don't spend much time reading titlebars because there isn't a lot to read. There is much more reason to increase the size of text in these dialogues or whatever they're now called.
View 5 RepliesHow to increase the size of the applet windows that windows 10 opens for, in this case "OPTIONS" under TOOLS in Media Player. In the screen shots attached the window simply gobbles up the dialogues and options under almost all register tabs.
One can also observe the same behavior under such windows of some other dialogue boxes of some other software applications i.e. (Preferences) Adobe's Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc. It is not the case with all applet windows, but only some. I am using a large Samsung 26" screen so the screen size etc. can't be the problem..
I am sure there is some setting somewhere that allows one to change the size. It is quite frustrating and security risk otherwise, not being able to access the settings of an application.

I am having Dual Boot PC XP and Windows 10 on different hard disk. Windows 10 have been upgraded from Windows 7 but the System Reserved Partition on Windows 10 remained 100 MB ( 30 MB is free space ), wherein if we clean install the Windows 10 then System Reserved Partition is 350 MB. Now the problem, if I create a backup then the minimum 50 MB free space is required in System Reserved Partition otherwise backup fails. I tried command fsutil usn deletejournal which was advised by someone but it increase the free size from 20 MB to 30 MB only. I am hesitant to use partition manager software because once I have used this on another PC on a simple partition and though it has increased the size of the partition but data of my other partition was deleted.
View 9 RepliesHad 8.1 then downloaded 10, unfortunately when I originally installed 8.1 I made my C partition too small and it's almost full all the time.
Is there anyway to increase the size?
Also I want to reset my PC right now since it's gotten extremely sluggish for some odd reason and I can't see any thumbnails for many things despite trying loads of stuff suggested on the web.
When resetting will I get any option to change the partition size?
It is easy to increase the time an Outlook 2013 Desktop Alert stays on for a long time (hours or maybe all day) by using the registry hack below in Windows 7. This won't work under Windows 10. The longest time I can get by any method, Control Panel or hack is 5 minutes. How to make it at least a couple of hours or preferably all day?
Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice<version>CommonDesktopAlerts
Value name: TimeOn
Value type: REG_DWORD

I just installed windows 10 but I dont quite like the small size of the taskbar icons. How do i increase their size without increasing the size of everything else?
View 1 RepliesWhen the computer comes back after being in sleep mode for a while, all the icons and fonts are in much larger size and with very poor definition. If I shut down the computer and start again, everything comes back normal. This issue only started after the upgrade to Windows 10.

View 4 RepliesI have just plugged in a second monitor to my PC, the resolution of both monitors are as recommended (1) is 1366 x 768 and the other (2) which is the main display is 1920 x 1080 - I would like to increase the size of the font, task bar icons etc on my main display (2) but when I go to the "advanced sizing of text and other items" and then to the "Change only the text size" I cannot select specific items as this part is grayed out and I cant click on it. Could it be because I am trying to change something on the (2) monitor (even though it is ticked as my main display)?

View 1 RepliesI can't get the desktop to properly size up on my screen. You can notice in the screenshot (in the lower right corner) that part of the taskbar is cut off. I have tried making adjustments via the NVIDIA control panel to no avail.
I'm using a 50" Plasma HDTV and it is hooked up to my PC via HDMI. My previous HDTV was a 42" LCD and I never had a problem with desktop size and position.
Running Windows 10 on a Dell Venue 8 pro Tablet. Several months ago, and just yesterday I lost my desktop. Turned on the Tablet went to the desktop picture after signing in and ... nothing. No live panels, no desktop icons, the action center would not appear. Just the desktop picture. If I tapped on the picture, the icons would appear for a split second. Anything pinned to the bar along the bottom would work. I was able to get to system restore and restore to a couple of days ago. That worked. What happened. Don't really know how to fix other than system restore.
View 1 RepliesI swear the more I use Windows 10, the more I hate it. It is beyond a doubt the least friendly of all their OS'swhere do you go to change the desktop icon text size and font? or is it another Regedit thing?
View 1 RepliesI just installed Build 9879 over Windows 7 on a spare machine and it went as expected except for the size of the Icon fonts and size of the taskbar. They both are much larger than they were on Win 7. I can't remember how to make them smaller. I make the icons themselves smaller (medium) by using View on the desktop but the fonts and taskbar are way to big. How to reduce them under Win 10?
