I have tried properties - customize - turn system icons on or off
But the power/battery and volume icon are greyed out.
Win 10 pro (upgraded from Win 7 Pro)
I would like to eliminate the sound when I adjust the volume on the sound icon in the lower right hand area of the task bar . Wat steps I can take to be able to still adjust the volume, but not hear the loud sound it makes when adjusting?
View 3 RepliesJust upgraded to Windows 10 and noticed that every time I adjust the volume a notification at the top right pops up for a few seconds. Problem is I'm used to adjusting the volume of my music frequently and that little box is right where my bookmark bar is on Chrome. So when I go to click on my Youtube bookmark, it turns the volume from ~10 all the way to 100, killing my ear drums.
I was really hoping there's a way to disable this volume control but have found nothing and I've turned the sound up to 100 about 3 times today.
So, this last update seems to have killed the start menu again. After reboot, it might work, it might not, but not too long there-after it just quits working all-together if it was working before. Same with search and Volume toggle. Dang! Mines an AMD machine which is perhaps a factor.
View 9 RepliesI just did a clean win10 install yesterday, everything works fine except for my audio sound volume. My device is compatible, it works just fine under Windows 8.1 but its way too small compared from my Windows 10 now.
View 1 RepliesThe sound icon is missing from the taskbar,
View 4 RepliesSince going from Win8 to Win10 tech preview I have had to increase my volume a lot more than before to hear anything. Volume issues with Win10?
View 9 RepliesOn my headphone all works fine, but the sound through the integrated speakers is much lower. With some movies I can put the sound up to max and still its not loud enough.
View 3 RepliesAfter installing windows 10, I can't hear any sound from my computer, and low volume when play audio files.
View 2 RepliesI've got a really weird problem with my sound on my PC. Whenever i try to listen to anything on my computer using headphones, i can hear the music/background noise perfectly clear, but when the volume is High, sound stop for 2/3seconds, and couple of seconds sound - and again. Headphones are new and I do not use Realtek.
View 1 RepliesSometimes when I play videos there is no sound even though the volume is at 100% on both my laptop and the video. Is there any way to correct this?
View 5 RepliesNo matter what I do the volume setting is always lowered at startup. I hope there's a setting somewhere that I'm missing. Could it be a Realtek setting/problem?
View 1 RepliesHow do i turn off the beep sound heard during volume adjustment? I can't find any settings for the same.
View 2 RepliesYesterday my sound icon disappeared from my notification center. I have searched the internet for a solution and the ones I have found have not worked. In the enable windows icons page, the switch for the sound icon is grayed out. I cant change my volume...

Settings-apps and system sounds properly configured
How some of the search results just lead to the settings app opening with the name of the search result in its search bar, but nothing in the results of the app? What I'm talking about is, search up "Show me tips about windows", "turn auto brightness on or off" or "turn on device discovery".
View 3 RepliesI'm running Wn10 and I would like to change some sounds. I'm running a background theme. I have downloaded a Wav file (thefreesite.com), added this file in a sound scheme (mail notification), tested it, saved it as modified scheme, but the sound doesn't play at all (when mail arrives). Is it perhaps not possible to play downloaded Wav files in a sound scheme ?
View 9 RepliesWhen the popup notifications in Windows 10 show up, such as the auto-play ones when you put in a disk or a USB drive, they don't display the relevant icon, just the colored background box (see pic below). The autoplay itself is fully functional and works fine, it's just the icons. I'm not sure if the problem affects all apps or program that show icons on their notifications, but I'm assuming it does since, the app icons at the bottom of the "Settings -> System -> Notifications and Actions" screen were displayed the same way. I reset windows, and this seemed to fix the icons in that settings screen, but not the notification pop-up icons. In the case of autoplay notifications, it is not dependent on the disk, as it does the same for any disk or drive inserted or mounted.
Some of the things I've tried:
Restarting (obviously)
Creating new user (problem persisted)
Resetting the PC (deleted all files, without cleaning the drive. problem persisted)
I believe the support guy tried doing something with the registry, and he also tried updating my GPU drivers (which were already up to date)
In Windows 7 we had the option of selecting which icons were permanently or only displayed when they had a notification in the taskbar. I haven't been able to find where the option is to change the settings in Windows 10, is there one?
View 2 RepliesIn Windows 7 there was a panel to customize which icons you want to show or hide in the Notification Area. Like this ...
Does this panel got deleted in Windows 10 ? If yes, is there a solution to hide/show icons from the notification area ? The options available in the Parameters menu don't let you hide an icon, it just put it under the arrow icon.
Could not find "Notification Area Icons" in "All Control Panel Items" for Windows 10, but I could find it under Settings-System-Notifications. Is that normal for Windows 10? How can I add it in the "All Control Panel Items"?
View 3 RepliesI turn off the "always show all icons" and customize what I want to be shown. I don't like clutter, so I like hiding a lot of the systray crap. Almost every time I reboot though, the "always show all icons" has automagically became enabled again and I have to go in and turn it back off.
View 3 RepliesAfter upgrading to this build, all of the icons and notification center flicker every few seconds. When I click on the Start button, the start menu will open after a while.
View 1 RepliesStart button ceasing to work? I can't access many programs that I don't have as desktop shortcuts. None of the notification icons in the systray activate, so I can't access the notify center or change my wireless signal. I've seen this answered on many other forums, but none of the fixes seem to work for me.
View 3 RepliesI was wondering whether it were possible to open the volume mixer instead of the volume control when left-clicking on the volume icon in the tray. At the moment I have it set to open the old classic menu, but not the volume mixer.
