Sep 5, 2015I am currently using Windows 10 Pro. My query is, when during the remote access session, why the background screen goes black?

View 1 RepliesI tried to log in to my workplace computer using remote desktop web access. website allows me to sign in to RD service website but when I try to login a workplace computer it not respond when I click connect button. I am not sure this problem is MS edge or Win 10. I am using Win 10 Home version.
View 1 Repliesafter recently downgrading and then upgrading back up to Windows 10 I experienced yet another problem. Now I have no remote access connection manager service. This was discovered by a technician via live support trying to create a VPN connection.
The other problem I have is installing virtual machines. Here are a couple of screen captures with the error messages here:
I don't want to resort to doing a complete clean re-installation of Windows just yet. Furthermore I also did come across [URL] and was wondering if that would bring me back to a normal functioning Windows 7 as even downgrading from Windows 10 in the past seemed to have caused some problems.
A friend's Asus 8.1 laptop was stuck in an automatic repair loop so I suggested that he upgrade to Windows 10.
Because he was unable to access his system, I opted for a clean install and I created a bootable Win 10 usb on another pc. I used this usb to insall Win 10 on his machine, skipping any requests to activate.
I was under the impression that Win 10 would automatically activate on installation. I'm not sure he ever signed up for the free upgrade offer before Win 8 on his machine decided to implode.
Since I upgraded to Win 10 I get a UAC query every time I open Excel. How can I make it stop that behavior?
View 1 RepliesI have Office 365 and Windows 10. Every time I open Word 2013 I get the UAC query. Is there any way to get this to stop?
It doesn't happen with any other Office apps.
Just wondering looking at my partitions after upgrading to windows 10 . Do I need to keep the last too partitions? I love windows 10 and had presumed that after a clean install my old windows 8 and 8.1 would be removed are these last too files remainders from them and if so can i delete and how should i do so. Just took a snip of the partitions content!
View 3 RepliesRecently I was getting confused and frustrate that files I were searching for weren't being included in the search results for my queries. It seems that the search parameters are restricted to "Exact word/phrase" and not "Contains.
Example: search "Broad", comes up fine
Search "road", nothing comes up.
In windows 7, I was able to search for a word and the search parameters would include files that "contains" the word in its name and even "contains" the word in a document.
In windows 10, it seems to be completely restricted to.
Using Windows 10 on both PC's.
I have managed to get PC 'A' to remotely connect to PC 'B' but cannot connect 'B' to 'A'.
Both PC's allow remote access.
I used the Win 10 Remote Desktop App.
Win 10 computer can see the XP machine and access shared files, like wise from the XP machine. I can remote control the XP computer using Desktop Connection, it works great. What I cannot do is remote control the Win 10 computer from the XP. File sharing and network discovery is setup on both. The network was established before Win 10, as the group is WORKGROUP. Too many devices to go through and change over to HomeGroup.
The XP computer is the professional version with Remote Desktop installed. I do not get any numerical error msgs to track down the problem. I have tried using the IP address and computer name but neither work.
Since I upgraded to 10, I can not connect to my virtualbox remote consoles like in win 7/8.1. Have Win 10 on two system and they act the same. I can rdp from Win 7 to the Win 10.
View -1 RepliesI have a windows 8 computer plugged in my tv and it has a microsoft account.I try to connect remotely from a windows 10 machine. I cant seem to enter the right user name. I have set up the tv computer to allow remote desktop and it works great with the local user i created, but with it doesn't work with the microsoft account. The name of the pc plugged into the tv is called TV.I also added the user into the remote settings.
Weird is that it works with the local account. How to do this with a microsoft account?

View 9 RepliesI'm using windows 10 and I'm trying to connect to a printer attached to a remote networked Windows 7 Pro computer. When I go to Settings/Devices/Add printer my printer attached to the remote computer shows up. When I click on the printer I get a window that says "That didn't work". We can't install this printer right now. Try again later or contact your network administrator." How to handle this??

i have win 10 pro im change remote resvices session time limit and another method but not solved...
I took the plunge today and did a clean install of Windows 10 pro downloaded from MSDN. The performance is also incredible, everything is very snappy & responsive.
during setup, i opted for "my organisation owns this computer" and i signed in with my Office365 (E3) login details, i also opted to apply the default security policies. the office365 account had only been used to sign in to outlook online, and was never used for Azure active directory / windows login. the setup completed and i can log in directly to the desktop no problem. i noticed however that i could not sign in to one drive, i kept getting prompted for the username and password, and it was rejected every time despite being correct. i have no trouble accessing one drive via the web interface. also, now i noticed that i am unable to access this PC when logging in remotely via remote desktop (from a Win 8.1 PC). the credentials are correct.
it's a mystery. i have a microsoft ID (personal email address - no outlook/hotmail/live email etc) that i've had for years and this is linked with a Microsoft Action Pack subscription. i needed to sign in with these credentials on the Visual Studio license activation screen. i now notice that when i sign in to Office365 via web browser, i am prompted with this question (new since installing windows 10):
Sign in with your work or school accountIt looks like XYZ@MyCompany.com is used with more than one account. Which account do you want to use?Work or school account (Assigned by your work or school)Microsoft account(Personal account) having searched around a lot today, i came across this thread which explains how users are forced to have separate Microsoft accounts - even with the same username/email - to span services like Office365 and MSDN / Action Pack. this seems to describe my situation well, but i can't find any solution to the onedrive & remote login issues.
Is Remote Desktop only available on Windows 10 PRO? I have Win10 Home and the option to "Allow remote connections to this computer" is not present.
View 4 RepliesI am having problems setting up remote desktop. I can not find the program in windows firewall to enable it. was just wondering if this would be due to my copy of windows 10 is not activated?
View 6 RepliesIf remote computer has user password all works well, but if no user password can't log on. In windows 7 this was not a problem,is there a work around so if two windows10 computers have no user passwords you can connect?. This is on a private home network. Don't want to use third party software for this process.
View 2 RepliesI recently upgraded from Win 7 Ultimate to Win 10 Pro. After upgrade, I can only start Remote Desktop once if done shortly after a boot/reboot. I believe it's only a matter of several minutes, but can't say for sure yet.
Shortly after rebooting, Remote Desktop will start and function correctly. If I close that connection and attempt to restart, the "loading" circle appears for about 5 seconds, then disappears. Nothing happens after that.
The mstsc.exe process starts, but nothing happens. A new process will start for each successive time I attempt to start remote desktop. I've stopped the processes and tried again with same results.
I go to Canterbury College and they have the school system set up so that students can do a remote desktop connection a there server and login into their accounts using there own computers. I bring my laptop to college and I have to login to the remote desktop using a shortcut on my desktop to use it. I have searched the web and do not know if it is possible for me to set it up on Windows to let me instead of clicking my user name on the lock screen but let me sign into the remote desktop as soon as I turn the computer on. This will make it easier than login into my home account and then the school account if I could log straight into the school system. At the moment the school laptops automatically connect to the remote desktop server when you turn them on.
View 3 RepliesOnce in a while it seems my computer just freezes an then I get a message pop up an says my remote call procedure failed.
View 5 RepliesI run a plex server which periodically does highly intensive CPU Transcoding, I have found that the OS locks up if my temperatures exceed 70 C (which makes sense). This wouldn't normally be a problem but my computer takes about 15 minutes from pressing the button to settling into a stable state. To solve this problem I'd like to be able to stream SpeedFan to show me my temperatures and if possible have buttons to send commands back to the computer to turn up fans or turn down the affinity of the application (to reduce heat).
View 1 RepliesI had installed remote mouse on my computer but then decided it wasn't something I wanted so I uninstalled it in the control panel, when I restarted my computer the program wasn't in the uninstall list in the control panel but kept starting on the boot up of the computer and still remains in the notification area and pops up. How do I delete this permanently off my system?
View 2 RepliesI am using windows 10 .I have issues to access with Remote Desktop .I did not see any settings related to Remote Desktop.i can see option for Remote access.how to get Remote Desktop option .
View 4 RepliesI have been unable to find anything. It's quite simple, the Remote Desktop options have both become greyed out. The 'allow remote requests' is still available. I have seen posts saying to check group policy, but I have done that and I have no group policy settings set.
