View 1 RepliesI just did read (and do) instructions about removing OneDrive from the left explorer-pane. (and the quick-access pane) after reading a few hour, with instructions it was done in 2/3 mins
but now the question.. since this is about DropBox and not about OneDrive, I want to remove the DropBox item from the left-explorer-pane, but i do not want to remove (uninstall) dropbox...
I recently uninstalled Adobe Creative Cloud. Even after uninstalling, a folder named "Creative Cloud Files" remains in the File Explorer. I can't find a way to delete this. How can I remove this folder?
View 1 RepliesFor Pinned items in Quick Access in Win10 Navigation pane, a gray Pin icon is displayed beside each item.
Can it be removed or made transparent with Reshacker?
Note: I wanted to keep the Quick access feature so that I can still drag and drop in Nav pane.
Got this weird issue that's started today, for some reason my navigation pane is blank....
View 3 RepliesI have this problem on my fresh Windows 10 Pro x64 installtion where the documents folder keep multiplying in the file explorer navigation pane, it sometimes appears when I'm using the file explorer or leave it open in the background for a while. The system folders (Documents, Pictures and the other system folder) are all located in OneDrive and in my case D:OneDriveDocuments.
And this is what happens when I leave the file explorer open for a while. What triggers it so it is hard to reproduce. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with it being in OneDrive but I guess not since none of the other folders are acting like this. The extra Document folders don't appear like that all at once, they appear one by one and when you wait long enough it can become like that. There are no events in the event viewer that seem to be related to this problem so nothing I can show you from there.
I've just found the cause of this problem, it caused by OneDrive syncing the folder. The moment it starts to look for changes or update changes in the folder it will multiply and keep adding more folders one bye one.
Why does drive F & G show up twice in navigation pane? They are external HDs.

View 4 RepliesIs it possible to show control panel and recycle bin in the navigation pane without enabling 'all folders'?
View 7 RepliesI've seen adding shortcuts for these folders to Quick Access, but not rooted in the Navigation Pane. Critical info regarding display in Navigation Pane was found here: URL....Critical info regarding the appropriate flags for display in Open/Save dialogs was found here: URL...These files work on a per-user basis. This avoids having to deal with Ownership/Permissions issues of the CLSIDs under HKLM. So here are the files:
Links-Add to NavPane-Per User-32-bit.reg
Links-Add to NavPane-Per User-64-bit.reg
Recent Folders-Add to NavPane-Per User-64bit.reg
Recent Folders-Add to NavPane-Per User-32bit.reg
As shown below there are 2 drives missing from the Navigation Pane (vertical bar on the left of the File Explorer). How do I show them up there?
View 9 RepliesI'm giving this computer to a friend and I want it to be a blank slate. How do I disconnect all this microsoft account crap from my computer? The MS website gives instructions but there is no prompt to do so when I try. How do I disable the opening password when booting up the computer? I tried the netplwiz command and unchecked the box but all it did was make another user with the same name. Or is there a way I can make a new admin account for him somehow and delete all the other ones from that one?
View 1 RepliesMy Grandma pokes around way too much in her computer that has Windows 10 I used to remove all kinds of things in Windows 7 but since upgrading to windows 10 I all the things I had setup to no longer show are now back again after update. The things I would like removed are...
The power menu when you click Start (I use a CLI command in the Run Box to restart and shutdown)
The Network Icon in the task tray
The Volume Icon in the task tray
Any visible access to control panel (I use Windows+R to bring up run and enter "control")
is there a way to hide or remove the user picture at the login screen?
I've managed to change the background image of the login screen, but that big circle that shows a picture of the user is pointless and ruins my image.
I use this PowerShell command to remove all modern metro apps from all user accounts:
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage
However, it does not remove some apps and I have to remove them manually using:
Remove-AppxPackage Microsoft.Office.OneNote_17.6027.10071.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
So, is there a single command to remove all metro apps at once?
I've been using Windows 10 for weeks. Until today, it started up just fine by displaying my name and no email address. This is exactly how I want it to be.
Today when Win 10 would not recognize a printer, in order to download an "app" to work with this, I was required to provide a Microsoft email account, which I did (an old Hotmail account I rarely use). Now when I restart or wake up the computer, that old Hotmail account appears as "Administrator". However, I do NOT want that old Hotmail email address associated with this computer.
How can I remove it and get back to logging in with NO associated email address?
NOTE: I do not want to delete the old Hotmail account; just want to remove it from my Windows 10 "Account" menu (My name + Hotmail address + "Administrator").
In case it's required to associate Win 10 with an email address, I use Windows Live Essentials with a company email address. I tried adding it via the "Other Account" option, but Win 10 said it did not recognize the email address I entered, sigh.
How do you remove Quick access from the left side of your folders when you have the navigation enabled? I can remove all of the icons under it just fine, but I cannot remove Quick access as a whole.

View 2 RepliesWhich registry setting allows you to open the Links (Common Places FS Folder) explorer navigation pin as a drop down, as was the default behavior prior to the quick access pin being added in Win10?
For example, the Reg below will pin the Links folder back to the Explorer Nav Pane, however since the placeholders in the Links folder are shortcuts and not actual directories, no dropdown is able to be produced in the way that Windows 8 and backwards was able to.
Quick Access unfortunately doesn't offer the ability to rename anything pinned to it.
For example, I have a shortcut in the Links folder for both Start Menu locations (ProgramData and AppData), which I've renamed to differentiate between the two, however doing the same with Quick Access pins two folders named Start Menu as pinned placeholders... obviously a programmer missed that caveat of Quick Access.
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00; explorer shell:::{d34a6ca6-62c2-4c34-8a7c-14709c1ad938};
Links Folder (Common Places FS Folder)
[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareClassesWow6432NodeCLSID
{d34a6ca6-62c2-4c34-8a7c-14709c1ad938}]@="Links""System.

How to Change Navigation Panel Sizer Color?
View 1 RepliesI recently got an SSD, with my old HDD set as a storage. I was trying to move the quick navigation folders on the left of Windows Explorer from the SSD to the D: drive (HDD).
However, with the 'My Music' shortcut, I accidently moved it to just the D: drive, rather than a folder within the D: Drive. This means the 'My Music' now directs me to straight to the D: drive, and when I try and move it, Windows says access is denied.
I have looked everywhere. I just upgraded from Windows 7. I use Explorer ++ but it has limitations.I have no use for a Preview Pane.
