My laptop has been having issues starting up for a week or so. Today when I booted it up, it basically said you can either reset it or turn it off. I was hoping that it would fix whatever the problem has been. The reset removed MS Office and a few other programs I use a lot. I have MS Office on a thumb drive, but it said that the operating system is not configured to run the program.

View 1 RepliesI recently did a full reset with window 10. I did the option to remove everything. I have a SSD that is 250gb. After the process was finish I look back and I only have 143gb free space. I have a feeling my old files are still there but no where to be found. I already deleted the windows old folder. How can I reclaim that lost space.

View 1 RepliesSo I recently got an HP Stream 7. I removed office of course and it seemed to work. BUT I've updated it to Windows 10. And low and behold office 365 returns flashing a offer to try a 1month trial. And no matter what I do it will NOT go away from my start-screen. I clicked the uninstall and it seemed to be uninstalling, but now it's still there only the uninstall button is gone.
I tried unpinning, but all the tiles just go transparent and then it returns to normal after a few minutes, and the tile is STILL there.
Is this really how Microsoft wants to push their office software?
After doing a clean install of windows 10, I am unable to install ms office pro plus. The error is osppsvc make sure you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
View 9 RepliesI am running a dual boot with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 being default and Windows 10 Pro x64 as secondary. I have been running 7 for a couple of years and recently added 10. Maybe I'm not doing something I was supposed to but when I'm in 10 and try to run MS Office 2010, I get an error message that states: "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application"
When I try to run programs from MS Office 2013 a window appears asking me if I want to let this application make changes to my computer. Clicking yes or no does nothing. No error messages or windows appear after that.
Is there something I was supposed to run when I installed Windows 10? Maybe a migration tool or something to that effect?
I am not able to open any office or pdf file. It says o*c0000005 not able to start. What to do?
View 3 RepliesI cannot open an office document straight away like I could do in Windows 7. Is there any setting I am not aware of that need to be changed. Previously I would just double click and the document would open. Now I have to search for it when I try to open in the first instance.
View 3 RepliesSince I upgraded to Windows 10 I am unable to open an existing Office file, edit and save it. I get popup messages saying that I don't have administrator permissions. I am logged in as administrator. Also, I'm told that the files are Read Only, yet when I check the file properties they are not set to Read Only.
View 4 RepliesI am eligible to use Office 365 Pro Plus through my University and was able to use it with no issues on Windows 7, but upon attempting to install the programs on Windows 10 I am unable to activate the programs through the Microsoft Activation Wizard. I consistently receive error code 0x8004FC12 and am unable to continue with the activation process.
I have run sfc /scannow and even did a fresh install of Windows 10 to no avail. I've also tried the quick repair and online repair options using Add/Remove Programs with no success and I keep getting the same error. Running as administrator also does not solve the issue.
From what I remember from installing on Windows 7, I did not even need to undergo the activation process and the programs worked perfectly after installation, so my guess is that the programs are unable to connect and validate my license for some reason. I have tried disabling antivirus programs but this did not work either. Office 365 Online clearly shows I have it activated on my Windows 10 installation but repeated attempts at reinstalling have not fixed the issue.
I checked on the stability report last night, and I found out that the "Get Office" app has been having issues every single day.
The computer does not crash, and there was no error message. Without examining the stability report, one would never know there's anything wrong.
I uninstalled the app, and everything seems to be fine now. I sign onto Windows locally, without using my Outlook account.
ok, got a buddy in the uk who upgraded to 10, now he wants to remove microsoft office 03 as its barely compatible with 10 and he wants to grab a more recent version of office. small problem. he cant figure out how to uninstall it. the usual suspects for enabling an uninstall dont appear to show the program. I've directed him to tutorial Apps - Uninstall in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums and suggested option 4. he's currently told me both hdd's and the ssd all have a folder called microsoft office. he's unsure whats what.
edit: for clarification, the SSD is the drive that has the operating system installed to it. one hdd holds installed games, the other gets everything else.
Yesterday, on w.10 upgrade, everything was fine - after a few scares. Using Office 2010 and all was working as normal. Today I am unable to print anything from Outlook, tells me it's not responding. Word won't open at all. Excell will open but won't print. Tried troubleshooting from within W.10 but nothing works.

I now have several docs that I want to delete but i cannot do so. When I look this up on the internet I am told to delete them as I would any other doc. but I can't do this because I can only delete docs that are on my desktop and I can delete by clicking the right hand button and get a sub-menu with delete on it.
The LO docs only appear in LO and clicking the RH button does not produce a menu with delete on it.
How did I miss this one? I tested Office for Android when there were only Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Then Outlook became available. To be fair, I got an invite, but hadn't paid attention, since I didn't expect more than the base apps in the new Preview.
Now it seems that the whole enchilada is available for Android phones. I'm going to jump off the ledge and guess it's also available for Android tablets, since I haven't read Ed Bott's article.
I have Windows 10 installed on my laptop with MS Office 2013. I want the latest preview build installed first. But it's listed at more than 20th position. How to stop these unwanted Office updates. In previous versions of Windows it was very simple to do that by hiding them. But how do I do that in Windows 10 build 10240 RTM?
View 7 RepliesI'm running Windows 10 64-bit and noticed one day when opening my start menu to open up word that in the programs list (now called "all apps" for some reason) the launcher for Microsoft Office 2013 Word wasn't in the folder labeled "Microsoft Office" but rather, it was under the "W" section as its own program. I went into the file location, and all the applications are in a folder there, but for some reason in the start menu, it's not in the Microsoft Folder. This bugs me, and I can't find any way to edit the start menu's folders/programs etc. in Windows 10. Before I continue, I must say that I'm a little biased toward the older versions of Windows, and am rather dissatisfied with the way Microsoft is heading.
View 7 RepliesI have used the Office XP shortcut bar with every windows version up to windows 7 without problems. When I upgraded to Windows 10, the Icons only show a ? and the program associated with the icon will only execute if I right click on the icon and click either open or run as administrator. The program name associated with the icon will display when I hover over the icon.
Is there any fix for displaying the actual icon picture? I have more programs that I use daily than would fit on the task bar. I don't want to clutter my desktop with icons. The shortcut bar allows me to organize my program icons in different task bars so I would like to continue using it.
In 2008, I purchased 2 DVD copies of Office Home and Student 2007. This means that I have a total of 6 activation of the program. (Office 2007 and 2010 give you 3 licenses per DVD, while 2013 only gives you 1)
Over the years, I've upgraded computers, hard drives, reformatted, etc. etc. and all I've done to "unregister" Office 2007 from my computer was to simply uninstall it from Control Panel whilst connected to the Internet. I always did this, in hope that I would be unregistering my product key. Upon reinstalltion, I could always reactivate with no problems. (Except for a few times where I've forgotten that one of my DVDs had ran out of the 3 licenses, and that I had to use the other one to activate).
However, now, I'm curious if there's a way to check how many activation I've used, and also, if there's a way to "clear" all 3 activation on both DVDs in order to "start fresh". How to do this with Office 2007?
I am missing the icons for a few pieces of software, such as office, i have tried resetting the icon cache, to no avail
View 5 RepliesI downloaded Windows 10 when it was released and have had no problems with it ... until I updated my Microsoft Office to 2016. Ever since then, if I have Office open I get the BSoD, with it saying either Unexpected_Store_Exception, or Critical_Process_Died. I have no other virus software, so it's not the incompatibility with Defender. I have run all of my maintenance software, rebooted my computer, etc. I'm at a loss for what else to do.

View 6 RepliesI have tried various methods to uninstall this app - all failed with the error above. I want to uninstall it because the update in the windows store keeps failing and I don't need it.
So far I have tried pretty much everything I have found via google, including the regedit process of clearing the store cache, but even that did not work.
At a loss now, how to remove this app completely?
