I regularly print pages from a website, & with IE I was able to re-size the document to 95%, 85% etc to use less paper. I can't do this with Microsoft Edge-it doesn't give me any options to re-size the document for printing? Is there an option I am missing?

View 1 RepliesI've just updated to Windows 10 and found it impossible to print a document from Microsoft Word. When I press the "print" logo, or "Ctrl.P" I get a dialog box titled "Save Print Output as" with no facility to actually print. I've tried all the usual remedies... swearing, invoking the Almighty, banging my head on the table and threatening the computer with death...all to no avail.
There's probably something very simple that I've missed, but it still eludes me. Why do they mess about with something that has worked perfectly well up to now? All I want is to be able to print a doc. when I press "Print" ... is this too much to ask?
My computer has suddenly stopped printing PDF downloads from emails. Will only save to documents and still will not print. What is the problem here? Have an HP all in one wireless printer.
View 6 Replieswhen I try to print any documdent with a print command, I only get anoption to save the document as a tiff file. Saving the document and then trying to print it gives the same "save as" option again. Printer is HP photosmart 6100 series.
View 1 RepliesThe print spooler chokes on both of my Windows 10 machines when trying to deal with certain pdf files. For instance when I tried to print [URL] ... via my browser (Chrome), it printed the first 6 pages, but the printer showed an error when it came to the seventh page. When I then tried to create another job just to print the seventh page, it just hung around in the print spool and nothing happened at the printer.
I tried this several times on two machines. It was also impossible either to cancel the job in the print queue manager or to stop the spooler in the services manager in order to manually clear the print queue, which meant that the only way I could clear the queue was to restart the machine. I got the same behaviour whether I was printing to my physical printer or to the MS pdf printer. I also got the same behaviour when I tried to print from a different browser (Edge). This is not the first time I have had a problem with an unprintable file like this in Windows 10.
there doesn't seem to be a way to print a standard 6x4 photo using the Windows print function for pictures. how to do this as it was possible on earlier versions of Windows.
View 3 RepliesI am unable to resize windows in Windows 10. My only two choices seem to be to make the window full size, or to minimize it. The middle of the three buttons in the right hand corner does not work. I also do not get the little arrows at the edge of each window that enable one to resize.

View 4 RepliesSince upgrading to Win 10, I have a couple of issues. Note Pad...it fills the entire screen and it won't resize. Whole screen or minimized....that's the extent of Note Pad. The calculator is the same...full screen only. I worked around that by downloading the win 7 calculator.

I am finding an issue with Explorer though. I've noticed that the preview image icon for folders doesn't resize itself to fit within the folder preview section, so if the image I want to show as a preview on that folder icon is tiny, it'll show as being tiny in the preview with loads of blank space around it, for larger images it does seem to fit in, though if the image is longer than it is wide than it'll cut the bottom bit off. This wasn't the case in previous versions of Windows and I presume it can be tweaked in the registry.
I'm using a 4K monitor and Microsoft have improved the scaling in this OS, but it's still not exactly brilliant. Third party software is the main culprit tbf.
Every Time I try and "Save" a KS Writer Doc' the "Save to Folder" that opens Has Just Got Bigger and Now it s "Sized itself" to Nearly Full Screen Size and I cannot Size it Or Move It > Eg > I Right Click on Top of the Folder > Drop Down Menu Say s > Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize or Close, I cannot Re Size the "Folder Perimeter" Nothing Happen.
View 2 RepliesI upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7; the image that is displayed has never fit the size of the monitor (technically it's a TV, but whatever). I always would use Nvidia Control Panel to resize the image to fit the monitor, but it wasn't updated for Windows 10 (or 8 for that matter), so there is about an inch border of the screen that I can't see. I have a Nvidia GTS 450 graphics card. I was wondering if there is some way that I could resize the image or not. I also tried to go under display settings, but for whatever reason, the section where I can change the resolution is greyed out.
View 1 RepliesWhen Windows 10 is functioning normally, you can hold the Windows/Start-key down and press the arrow keys to move and resize the active window.
(i.e. Start-key + left moves the window to the left half of your screen;
Start-key + right moves the window to the right half of your screen;
Start-key + up maximizes the window to the full screen;
Start-key + down minimizes the window to the taskbar)
Here is the problem I have experienced for the on-screen keyboard (with or without tablet mode),
- When the on-screen keyboard comes up, the windows will not automatically resize to make way. The Keyboard will end up covering the window. (In Windows 8.1, all windows will resize.) (In Windows 10, only Store App and Microsoft Edge knows how to resize.)
At work I extensively use a Flash-based control panel provided by one of my company's business partners. I typically run Firefox to display it.
I've recently switched to 4K monitor and the panel has become unreadable as the font size is constantly the same as in my previous (1920x1080 resolution), meaning way too small to be easily read in 4K resolution unless using a magnifying glass...
I'm aware of the fact Flash objects are virtually impossible to customize, but noticed a surprising thing when run the panel in Internet Explorer (v. 11.11.10586) - it actually gets resized together with a page and this applies to panel font too! At the same the panel displayed in Firefox is completely immune to any size changes, just other elements (non-Flash) of the page can be increased/decreased.
The tiles I've put on the start page for various apps (all resized to small) and arranged in groups are rearranging themselves randomly and resizing to medium each time I reboot. I can't find any reason for this. Also, is it possible to start more than one app at a time using the tiles? I've tried searching here and using Google but nothing at all comes up.. It's a clean install after upgrading.
View 1 RepliesI recently got a new computer (HP Envy 750) that came with Windows 10H. With an external drive, I had backed up stuff from my browser, email client and documents that was on a crashed windows 10 that had updated windows 7, and then transferred to the new computer. I am finding the present filing system pathways to be confusing in that stuff I save to Documents appears in two places under different pathways.
I'd like to either correct this or understand what is happening, and if possible, just have one pathway to deal with. Here's an example: When searching for a file that has been saved to Documents, it has two pathways. One pathway is "This PC>Documents>the file" and the other pathway is "This PC>Windows(C>Users>adam9>Documents>the file." I an used to just one pathway.
I have recently downloaded Windows 10. My clients will send me a PDF document, and up until now I have been saving them to a specified folder. Now when I try to save it says something like "you do not have permission, contact administrator" I am signed on as administrator.

Suddenly, Documents folder has some but not all but does have a subfolder also called Documents that contains all. When I do anything in that folder, several document folders appear under MY PC all with green checks by them.. I also lost my RoboForm. Maybe connected to this problem?

I have a 1 TB SSD HDD with only my OS, Programs and Games on it, with another 1 TB (Mechanical) HDD installed for my Data (Documents, Pics, etc.). I did the upgrade option (not a clean install) and for some reason now, I can't save any documents to my DOCUMENTS folder without getting an error message:
You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the Documents folder instead?
If I choose YES OR NO, nothing happens. I can only save it to my desktop.
I normally do a Clean install, but wanted to get my Serial by doing the upgrade first, so when I install it, I have my Activation Code that is legit. I also noticed, Windows 10 turned of my Ethernet Devices on it's own...but that's for another post!
I cannot open an office document straight away like I could do in Windows 7. Is there any setting I am not aware of that need to be changed. Previously I would just double click and the document would open. Now I have to search for it when I try to open in the first instance.
