View 1 RepliesMy fone went dead while upgrading from WP 8.1 to 10. The fone shows spinning gear and sad smily at the end and restarts again. While downloading the firmware for my lumia 620 using WDRT, i couldnot download completely.

couldn't update the system reserved partition error....every time before downloading win10 while checking system requierments, i am on a windows 7 pc .... Also when it comes to free space i think 33 gigs are enough
View 1 RepliesI have a Vaio laptop and migrated my factory Windows 7 install to an SSD about a year ago, which apparently left me with no system reserved partition. I used these instructions to create a new system reserved partition, but I'm still getting the same 'Couldn't Update the System Reserved Partition' error when trying to start the Windows 10 upgrade. What else I can do to get the upgrade to work? I really don't want to do a fresh install of Win 7 (assuming that would even work). My diskmgmt screenshot is below. Also found this thread on reddit , but not sure if that really applies to my situation.
View 4 RepliesI have a Surface Pro 2 (on the Insider Program) trying to download the "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based systems (KB3116908)" update. I keep getting the above error (0x80070570) when it tries to download. I feel like I read something about this somewhere on here, but I can't seem to find anything relative to my circumstances when I search for it. My wife is wanting this Surface Pro when I upgrade!!!

Win 8.1 was installed from retail DVD onto a virgin 500GB mechanical HDD. I upgraded shortly after to a Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD and cloned the mechanical drive over, tested, and then formatted the mechanical drive for data. I got some real strange (to me) drive partitions - 100MB 'Data' drive which is almost full (cannot access) and a 350MB 'System Reserve' drive. The mechanical drive is a separate letter and all seems to work swimmingly. I sort of assumed this was normal.
Upon installing WinX I get the above error...from what i've read, people are having challenges moving from Win7 due to the fact that this reserve drive is only 100MB and it needs to be 300-450...well, mine's 350mb so not sure what gives.
The update automatically tries to install but I keep getting this. It says Windows 10 couldn't be installed. We couldn't update the system reserved partition. Several times I got error code: 8000FFFF.
I'm trying to update a Dell Optiplex 780 with Windows 7 Pro. SP1
So Im trying to install a new graphics card, and I have to tweak some settings in the bios. Unfortunately, when I try to open it(pressing escape at startup, scrolling down, and selecting uefi settings and pressing enter) nothing happens. I looked this up, and it said to go to advanced startup and go through some steps to get to a menu that supposedly contains "uefi firmware settings". Now, I confirmed that this is the right menu, but the option is just not there. I thought about updating my BIOS, but there are no updates for it available.
View 9 RepliesI've had Win10 installed for ages and no problems until Upgrade 1511 came along. How come Windows 10 worked all that time and now refuses to upgrade?
Upgrade to Windows 10 Home, version 1511, 10586
error message:
"Windows 10 couldn't be installed
*Windows couldn't be installed because this PC has an unsupported disk layout for UEFI firmware."
I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 (32Bit), Since, I have lost access to my DVD drive. The Device Manager shows:
The drive has always been connected and worked fine with Windows 7; the hardware has never been altered or messed about with.
So I decided to check the UEFI Firmware Settings via Settings>Recovery>Advanced Set Up>Troubleshoot>Advanced Options I don't get the option to enter UEFI Firmware Settings; All I get is the System Restore, System Image Recovery, Startup Repair, Command Prompt and Startup Settings.
Whenever booting my pc I get a "operating system wasn't found error". I've checked to make sure my hard drive was set to the boot drive and I've tried reinstalling but that doesn't work either.

Installed a Samsung SSD on my Asus CM6730-06 desktop running Win7. the Win7 OS was migrated from the Asus Pc to Samsung SSD. Windows 7 boots and runs great off the Samsung SSD. Got a Windows 10 upgrade notice and received an automatic download of Win10 but when it tries to install I get the message "Windows 10 couldn't be installed". "We couldn't update the system reserved partition". A friend used Aomei to create a System Reserved partition but Win10 still gives the same message about the system reserved partition.
View 2 RepliesEvery time I try to update and install windows 10 I get this error. It seems as if my reserve partition is too small to download windows 10. How would I go about fixing this issue. I have had a dual boot of linux in the past but got rid of it months ago.

Am trying to upgrade a windows 7 desktop to windows 10 but anytime I try to download windows 10 I get this:
"Windows 10 couldn't be installed. We couldn't update the system reserved partition."
What can I do get this fixed to get windows 10 on this computer?
I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 this past week. All is well except for one thing. I received an update from Microsoft yesterday (Cumulative Update for Win 10 - KB3081424) and noted during the installation that no restore point was created. System Protection is ON and I am able to create restore points manually. Thus, this is only a minor annoyance since I can successfully create these points on my own. However, I would prefer for the system to do so when important updates from Microsoft come down. I guess it is possible that the update referenced above did not generate such a point but found that unusual since it is listed as a Cumulative Update.
View 4 RepliesThis is the 2nd system (my wife's computer) we want to run Windows 10. Currently that system is running windows 7 Pro. The first system system went without a single hitch and it was running windows 7 Pro as well.. The download was complete so I was ready for the upgrade. I started the installation and the first thing I got the comment "We couldn't update The System Reserve Partition". I cannot find any documentation on this message.
View 3 RepliesI have googled this issue a lot and I see a lot of things that can be done but I some are not working. My partitions look different so its a little strange. When I try to upgrade to 10, I get the error message "We couldn't update the system partition". I had an older SSD that like 120GB. I filled it up so I put in a bigger one. My computer says it's 465GB. and almost half full. I ended up using Samsung disk magic or something like that which copied everything from the old SSD and put it on the new one. I think when it did this, it created some different partition.
I added an image of my partitions. Both C and D are SSD's. C being my operating system.
I am confused as to which partition windows 10 is trying to install itself on and what exactly is on the data partition. If I right click on the data partition, the only option I have is to shrink the volume.
