SSD And HDD Causing File Scattered Along With Multiple Accounts
Jan 12, 2016
I recently bought a PC from my uncle, who had an account. I've been using my own Microsoft account. However, I've ran into many permissions errors, and scattered files as shown below. URL...This is also another error I've encountered. When trying to reset my PC, this happens. URL...(the darker image is what happens. It disallows me to click anything, but I can still use keyboard functions). How can I clean up the files? I always get the "in use" error. I would like to fix this, along with permission errors, without resetting my PC.

My wife recently updated her SP3 to Windows 10 and, well, it's been an adventure.. Anyway, we both have a user account on the SP3 and she has Netflix installed and it runs fine on her account. I tried to install Netflix on my account and it appeared to install OK, but when I click on the tile, nothing happens. Also, when I right-click on the tile, I don't get the option to uninstall. Eventually I had to uninstall via the "apps & features" panel.
Tried multiple times to reinstall from the app store, but the same thing happens each time.

1. I have run netplwiz to not require a user name or password
2. 95% of boot ups, boot into Windows 10 without asking for a user name or password
3. I do not have any local accounts
4. I only have my Microsoft account
5. And here are my questions
10% of boots, and I will see two accounts shown on bottom of Windows 10 login screen
Please see screenshot
What is this second account I am seeing in this screenshot ?
Why would I get a login screen on 10% of boot ups
How do I get rid of this second "account" when I have no local, no other accounts....

Since I refreshed (factory restored) my win10 home laptop, it wants to creates admin accounts all by itself.
This happens every 2 or 3 reboots, and the admin accounts appear at the logon screen.
Before the refresh it booted to my log on. Now it boots to a list of accounts. First the inbuilt admin account appeared, which I tried to get rid of by the tutorial (net user administrator /active:no in elevated cmd).
Sure enough after a couple of reboots it was back again. I tried leaving it and after a couple of bootups, another admin account appeared, this time with a user name and password (the inbuilt admin account didn't have a username, just password).

At the first after I upgraded my notebook from windows 8 to windows 10, I just realize that 1 of my 3 user account is not exist anymore (the Guest account is not there just after I upgrade it into windows 10). As I tried to make the new Guest account and still didnt work (I dont want to follow such a complex email registration required by windows 10 to make a new user account), I thought to delete my secondary user account. However, I just realize that there is a file that I saved in the Desktop under my secondary user account. Is there a way to restore this desktop file that is saved in my deleted user account?
I have opened C:Users but I cant find the folder with the name of my deleted user account. It's very important yet big file (around 2 GB).

Ever since downloading Windows 10, I have been unable to upload PDFs to a couple of different websites, namely dropbox and an online file converter (smallpdf.com). It either says there was an error or says its uploading but never does after a long time (hours). I have also been having similar issues uploading .PNG files to facebook messenger as well, I assume the issue is related to that of the PDFs. I've already tried resetting my web browser (Firefox), re-downloading the files, re-starting my computer and uploading files from different file locations. The issue persists when on different wifi networks.

I am having trouble configuring Outlook 2010 on a new Windows 10 Pro clean install so that mail from multiple Gmail and Comcast accounts all go into 1 PST file. I would like to have 1 inbox for all 5 email accounts.
Even when I use "Manually configure Server settings" and specify an existing PST on D:Outlook, Outlook creates a new PST file on C:Users(My Username)AppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlook.

I just finished setting up my wife's new laptop and then totally spaced the PIN that I used to setup her laptop. She is running Windows 10 Home edition. I am still logged on so I have access to Windows but I can't use the PIN reset function and I didn't get a chance to setup her Microsoft Account info, so I can't use that feature either.
I am looking for a file directory location where the PIN is saved. It has to be saved in an XML file or something like that.

When i press Shift+Delete to delete any file, it doesn´t do anything except maybe 10 beeps, its the sound it makes for example when asking for something or some pop-up windows like that. Also when I try this, like at this moment, when writing this in Chrome (which is pretty hard, because of the following things), it does weird things like typing random numbers, deleting the text, skipping the like if I pressed the arrows or enter button, also it was going back in browsing, all by itself. It happens more after when I press Backspace or Delete.
I don´t know what is happening, can´t believe this is a Windows function i don´t know about or if I should be worried about my keyboard or maybe even a virus. (I am not using any downloaded antivirus).

I've got a custom built gaming pc which was running windows 7, ran perfectly for around 2 years, got offered the free upgrade to windows 10 so obviously took it..
It was around a month after the install that my computer cut off and restarted on its own, which I thought nothing of, possibly a program crashed and caused a cut-off or something. So that was that, it came back on and it was fine, for another month...
After the 2nd cut out (2 months after upgrade to windows 10) I then took it to my local computer shop, mentioned that its been cutting out ever since upgrade, and they tested the CPU, RAM etc with 3DMARK and results came back fine, and the problem is aswell that it never cut out whilst in their hands.
After being told theres nothing wrong with the hardware, they said to monitor the problem and keep them updated.
6 months down the line...
Cut outs are now happening intermittently, it can be on for 10 mins and cut out, and it can stay on for hours and cut out, but are obviously doing it a lot more frequently than at first. So I decided to try another computer shop to check the hardware, so they disassembled the computer, tested every component, and put it back together, again reported no faults with hardware. They reported that the copy of windows 10 that's installed is corrupted beyond repair, and a fresh install of windows may be required, and they asked for my product key, which after moving house I cannot find for the life of me.
I've had 4 remote access sessions with Microsoft and everything they've tried hasn't worked (one guy downloaded the ISO files and told me to install it myself because he's due for his lunch break !!!!!!
I've tried the in-place upgrade, and after this, my comuter tried to start 3 ties, then came up with an error saying windows is having a problem loading files, so I done the re-install whilst keeping files.
Again this hasn't worked, is there anything else that can be done other than fresh installing windows as I cant find the product key!

I'm running windows 10 with 8GB of RAM, an Intel i5, an ASRock z77 Extreme 4 mobo, and a Radeon Sapphire 7950 HD. All of the sudden when I boot up my computer it is extremely slow and I found out that my disk usage was 100%. None of the processes in task manager show any usage that would warrant even 5% disk usage.
I looked up some guides and disabled Superfetch and Windows Search in services.msc then restarted my pc. That didn't work even though they are still disabled. I let it sit there for 10 or so minutes and the disk usage went back to normal at <5%. It turns out that if I hit the windows key or press the windows button in the bottom left it won't work and it just makes my disk usage go back up and within 15 seconds it is back to normal.
Why my disk usage is so high on startup and why the windows key won't work/makes me use 100% of my disk?

Once or twice a day I get a half second of stutter where my video and audio will stutter for half a second. The only thing I've found in the Windows Logs seems to be the Software Protection Service starts when the stutter happens. I've done a full format with no luck, stuttering still occurs.

In the last week, for one user only, folder operations, ie, create a folder, rename, or delete, take up to 30 seconds to complete. It is the same for all disk drives. I don't see anything in the event logs, but Reliability Monitor Report shows that Explorer stopped responding with the following:
Description
The program explorer.exe version 10.0.10586.104 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

I did a clean install of Windows 10 and, because of problems with installation,I disconnected all unnecessary DVD drives and expansion cards etc. I decided to reconnect my DVD drives today to two spare ports on the mobo but, when I started the computer I got a black screen with two strange symbols before Windows attempted to start. The computer just hangs on the black screen. I tried disconnecting the drives in turn, different SATA cables and even starting in safe mode but the result is the same - black screen with strange symbols immediately after POST.

So in another thread I questioned why on boot up my desktop icons were a bit slow in drawing themselves. They take a few seconds to fully draw with a number of them showing as white generic paper icons. I then found folders with a large number of exe files were also slow to display the icons. Increasing icon cache, rebuilding it didn't make a difference. I was also noticing that the folders slow to draw the icons once finished gave no further grief if I subsequently opened them. Until the next reboot!
Finally i I know why, it's Windows defender. The antimalware service is kicking in causing the slow icon draw. I suppose it's doing its thing but the slow draw of the icons on the desktop when I log in annoys me. It's only a few seconds but running SSD and given the cost of the system I expect it to be a bit more instant. I am sure it's not as bad as this on my Windows 7 laptop which runs security essentials. I turned off real time protection temporarily and can confirm that the folders were then drawing the exe icons instantly. So definitely defender the culprit.
i am also considering trying another paid anti virus. Kaspersky sounds like it has good rep and is lightweight - I was only going to go for the anti virus / real time protection aspect as I am happy with Windows in built firewall. Does it play nice with Windows 10? I just want something light on resources, nag free and something that won't interfere with the drawing of the icons. I thought defender being integrated and an MS product would give the littlest grief but I guess I'm wrong. Unless something can be set to prevent it real time scanning the desktop icons.

I had this problem when Windows 8 was new (but never had it with 8.1) and now it looks like it is back with W10.
My PC was fine up until about 2 days ago, it would go into hybrid sleep and wake with no problems but now every time I try to wake my PC the LED's, mouse and keyboard turn on but then it crashes and reboots.
I tried re-installing drivers, un-installed them, downloading them from the manufacturers websites instead of windows update but the problem remains.
I think I've narrowed down where the problem comes from and it appears to be the hybrid sleep option, disabling it and just using sleep works as expected, but if I try to use hybrid sleep....boom it happens again. I also tried enabling hibernation and that also crashes when waking up, so I assume there is a problem with the hibernation feature.

This started last week, after the power flickered a few times during a storm while I was on my computer. I began to notice that when I would take longer than a 10-15 minute break and leave my computer idle I would come back to the sign in screen.
I tested all my hardware and everything seems perfectly fine. I manually ran automatic maintenance and my PC restarted shortly after. I assume that when automatic maintenance would run while my computer was idle it would cause my pc to restart.
The question is, how can I disable automatic maintenance? I looked in task scheduler but there is nothing under Task Scheduler > Microsoft > Windows > Task Scheduler. How can i disable automatic maintenance on Windows 10?

I think we can now all agree: Microsoft ’s hardline policy on Windows 10’s forced updates is silly. Very silly. Since launching nine days ago Windows Update has sent out an unstable graphics driver which switched off monitors, a buggy security patch which corrupted Windows Explorer and there are now a number of reports that a third update is causing Window 10 machines to crash over and over again…
The patch in question is KB3081424 (ironically enough a roll-up of bug fixes) and during its update process affected users find it fails and triggers the message: “We couldn’t complete the updates, undoing the changes.” Undoing them results in a mandatory system reboot, but as soon as the user logs back on Windows 10’s update process kicks in and tries to install KB3081424 again.
I’m sure you’re way ahead of me here, but since Windows 10 updates cannot be stopped KB3081424 tries to install over and over again which leaves systems caught in endless reboot loops.
