Saving Added Text To A Document In Wordpad
Nov 17, 2015When I try to save added text to a document in Wordpad that I have already "Saved as" I keep getting the "saved as" page. How do I Save additional text?

Aug 29, 2015When trying to add an email account to Outlook 2013 on my daughters Surface Pro 3 running Win10 I get the following error message AFTER the test message is successfully sent.
"The specified device, file, or path cannot be accessed. It may have been deleted, it may be in use, you may be experiencing network problems,. or you may not have sufficient permissions to access it. Close any applications using this file and try again."
Also when saving a Word 2013 document to a local user document folder I get this error message:
"C:UsersahughdocumentsTest document.docx You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the Documents folder instead?"
There is only one user account on the computer and it is an administrator account.

Dec 2, 2015I upgraded two computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I just noticed today that a right click in a folder does not have anything other than New Folder under New. Windows 7 had several choices (Folder,Shortcut,Rich Text Document, Text Document, Wave Sound and more). My wife's W8 works properly and a W7 VM works properly.

Jan 19, 2016I have a friend that has this problem,When he tries to print from either notepad or rich text document it says that it stops working,With no error code.
Printing from Chrome browser and Thunderbird email client work just fine.And his other computer prints just fine from notepad and rich text document.

Aug 10, 2015Upgraded to Windows 10 from 7. I used Word Pad for creating all docs. Now I can't find it. The same docs are in Office but are formatted different and require payment for subscription. Was my Word Pad deleted in the upgrade or can still get to it?

Nov 20, 2015I just installed the BIG Windows 10 update (can't remember what it was called, 1511 or something) and so far it seems all right, except my desktop is a little different. One, my desktop background picture was removed and needs to be reset, no big deal, but all my Microsoft Word files open in Wordpad now (yes, I have a current license, just bought 2016 a few weeks ago--Excel comes up normal...) and the thumbnails have these mysterious blue arrows that point at each other in the corners. I think they might have something to do with file compression? But the arrows are also on some of my program icons in the taskbar, too.

Nov 8, 2015For instance, if I highlight a word in a text-entry field, it's a very bright blue. This is also true in Firefox, Thunderbird, Word, OneNote, various fora, etc. but not in Excel.
Prior to installing Windows 10, the highlight in a text-entry field was either pale grey (on dark backgrounds) or darker grey (on light backgrounds), which is what I'd like to have back.

I have word 2013, and I would like to insert an indentation 1.5 between the raised number and the text in footnotes (see figure 1)

When I go to "Footnote Text" style, and then paragraph to do the indentation, it moves the number and the text to the right (see figure 2). But I do not want this.

If I use the hanging option, it only indents the texts below the first line (see figure 3)

I have gone to "Footnote Reference" style, but the "paragraph" tab is locked. I cannot enter. How to unlock it? Alternatively, how can I get the results I want (figure 1)....

Jan 29, 2016So i added an WD 2TB HDD to my computer, and removed an old ATI Sapphire HD 5450 GPU. When i booted up, my computer was unable to find an OS, and it said to remove any HDD that does not have an OS, and so i did. Then i t said reboot and choose device, but when o rebooted, it just went back to the same screen. I tried to enter system recovery, but it bluescreened... i have tried this like 6 times, rearranging SATA cables and SATA power cables,

I can disable "Show most used apps" and "Show recently opened apps" using this key:

Apr 14, 2016So I've recently bought an SSD Drive soley for the purpose of running Windows. The original Hard Drive was a 2TB Samsung drive that I have since formatted and using for Storage only. Installed Windows 10 on the SSD and the machine is working great, boots up in aound 10 seconds from turning the machine on.
Now heres my issue. For some reason if i turn my PC on and do nothing it will show the message no operating system found press ctrl, alt + del to restart. This is because its still looking to my original 2TB Drive to boot up. So basically I have to tap F something everytime i turn my machine on and select the SSD from the list.
Here is where things get weird. I have gone into the bios and have the choice of what the machine boots up with, so again i can select my SSD. The problem is the section where I can set the boot order default is only showing my 2TB Hard drive and the Blu-Ray drive, the SSD doesnt appear in that list. So it appears in one time boot options but not in the boot priority list so I cant set it as the default Drive.
Apps :: Word Documents Saved As Wordpad Documents?
Dec 9, 2015I am using Word 2013 on my laptop. Windows 8 was operating system. Recently upgraded to Windows 10. When I save Word documents now, they are saved as Wordpad documents. (.xml files) Wordpad does not recommend some of the Word formatting and alters the documents.
How do I correct this? I want the save as Word documents, as I did in the past.

Sep 21, 2015Basically my story is, my previous laptop had a motherboard failure and I had some things on the hard drive that I wanted to recover. So I purchased a new laptop, put a ssd in it, installed windows 10, then I had a hard drive caddy lying about so I took out the optical drive of the laptop and installed the hard drive from my previous laptop with the assumption that I just take ownership of the drive and drag my stuff across to the (C: ) .
But after installing the hard drive successfully, it's now showing as the (E: ) it doesn't have all the files on it from my previous setup, instead it has the exact same files as the (C: ) . It's like whatever happened windows deleted the files and replaced them with the exact same files as the (C: ) ?I have a wordpress website on that drive that I really need to recover but absolutely no sign of any files from my previous windows 10 setup.
Two Different Pathways For Same Document?
Jan 10, 2016I recently got a new computer (HP Envy 750) that came with Windows 10H. With an external drive, I had backed up stuff from my browser, email client and documents that was on a crashed windows 10 that had updated windows 7, and then transferred to the new computer. I am finding the present filing system pathways to be confusing in that stuff I save to Documents appears in two places under different pathways.
I'd like to either correct this or understand what is happening, and if possible, just have one pathway to deal with. Here's an example: When searching for a file that has been saved to Documents, it has two pathways. One pathway is "This PC>Documents>the file" and the other pathway is "This PC>Windows(C>Users>adam9>Documents>the file." I an used to just one pathway.
