Windows 10 installed beautifully and seems to run fast on my Toshiba laptop but the screen flashes every 30 seconds. When it flashes it looks like a small window opens and closes immediately. Any dialogue box open is reset, and there is disk activity. 2 tasks pop up to the top of the list in Task Manager: dwm.exe and explorer.exe. It happens all the time, whether there are any applications open or not.
View 10 RepliesI'm having a weird issue since i installed windows 10, After installing, drivers, apps, etc., suddenly after using the PC for a few days, after startup apps finish loading and everything, when i try to open any application (browser, explorer, something with uac prompt, anything..) The screen flashes and turns off for a second and then everything come back to normal, This is my 2nd fresh installation for windows 10, I thought there could be something wrong with the drivers, i double checked them, I even replaced all of the apps that i used to have! , spent lots of time to look for alternatives (Avira instead of Kaspersky, 7zip instead of WinRAR, etc.),
View 9 RepliesAfter installing Windows 10 my laptop screen is flashing during thw start up menu. Some of the icons are loaded, others are not. The screen flashes constantly. I have not attempted to go into safe mode yet. My laptop met all the requirements for an upgrage so I am frustrated todaay with this.

View 1 RepliesW10 (64 bit Home) has been working OK on this laptop but recently I have been able to open the settings screen for only a micro-second. Having found people having the same problem I have tried running SFC several times, as suggested, but it says it found an issue it could not resolve.
Again following instructions on the forum I tried running DISM with an iso loaded and this hung at 40% for hours (overnight).
I do not understand what to look for in the log file, but there are several lines that mention an error. I attach the log file (zipped)....
Yesterday, after getting infected with malware, I decided to freshly reinstall windows 10 on my computer. However, after reinstalling it, I noticed that my bootup was very slow. During the windows logo part of the bootup, the screen flashes once, and the loading circle of dots becomes slow and low quality. Afterwards, the screen turns black for ~40 seconds, and then I get to the login screen.. And sometimes, I get that issue after logging in.

I'm using Windows 10 and I changed all of my When Computer Sleeps settings and my screen still goes black after about 30 seconds of inactivity. Not really sure why this happens because I changed all of the settings for the screen shutting off to never.
View 6 RepliesI just installed Windows 10, but every time I start up the computer, it will show a black screen before getting to the login screen and then the computer will restart by itself after about 5 seconds.
It does this over and over again.
Some things I've tried:
- I have multiple monitors, so I tried disabling the other in BIOS. Didn't work.
- I tried booting from the integrated GPU rather than my NVidia GPU. Didn't work.
- I unplugged my second monitor. Didn't work.
- I updated my NVidia driver through safe mode. Didn't work.
When starting up the screen seems to reboot. windows menus/ bottom menu and program icons mostly dissapear and re-appear.
In the mean time windows is practically unusable. Hard to start up any program.
No error messages appear on screen.
After successfully installing Win 10 it ran without any issues for about 1 day then Edge refused to launch, the splash screen opens for about 10 seconds and then disappears. The only change made to Edge was to import bookmarks from IE. Unsure where to start looking for an answer.

View 6 RepliesI purchased a hp pavilion laptop a few months ago with Windows 10 pre-installed.
I haven't used it for a few days, turned it on this evening and I got a message on boot up saying
"preparing automatic repairs" and then my screen goes blank 3-5 seconds later.
I do not have a cursor and have tried various keys and different ways of trying to bring up some kind of option. I also tried plugging my laptop into my TV to see if it were perhaps the screen that was going wrong.
So I upgraded to Windows 10 and I was using it and shut down my computer. Now my computer turns on but won't load anything. It shows the windows loading screen for about 5 seconds and then goes blank and sits that way till I turn it off and restart.
View 1 RepliesI have Windows 10..Just recently I have found that when I open a folder on my desktop which opens in maximized mode, and then go ahead and click to restore the window to a smaller size, instead of doing so, the window restores to the width of the three buttons at the top (minimize, restore, close) and then the file explorer window crashes and freezes for a few seconds, my screen goes black for a few seconds, then I am returned to the desktop, where the window has closed.Is this a sign of hard drive corruption?
View 1 RepliesI upgraded to windows 10 last night and today I have tried to open excel but it is not working, it simply flashes on the screen then disappears, there are no error messages and it happens if I try to open a file or just the program on its own. This is the main program I use.

Loaded Windows 10 24 hours earlier, the system was okay until early in the evening after a reboot. Now all reboots are the same. Lucky enough at one point I was able to get on the internet, but I can't get to my settings to find a fix.

So this started like last week where i get these small lags when my pc freezes for like 1-3 seconds. It can happen when i play games or just browsing. It happens probably like 2 times every hour. This is a problem for me because when i play csgo and im shooting towards someone and everything just lags and i die. It's a small problem but it is really frustrating. And just today while i was playing Arma 3 my pc completely froze and i had to restart it by holding down the button on the case.

This is a problem that has been plaguing me across years and several computers.Every hour or so, and it doesn't seem to matter what application I have open, Windows will become unresponsive for a few seconds. Then it will go away.
On this system I have 8 gb ram and I am running light applications. I have a new i-5 skylake processor and a good asus mobo. And a reputable SSD, too. I just installed windows 10 pro x64 a week ago. I have this problem even without third-party AV, as I found out after I uninstalled my AV.
I recently updated my HP to Windows 10. During setup after I logged in, I got the BSOD. I thought there was nothing wrong until I logged in and found out that I didn't have Start Menu access. About 10 seconds later, the BSOD came up again. Now every time I log in, about 10 to 30 seconds after login, I get the BSOD.
View 6 Repliesmy computer has been acting strange as of 2 days ago. I was initially just browsing the net and everything stopped loading. I thought my internet went out and I shut down my computer thinking nothing of it. I tried starting it up again later that day but it would freeze a few seconds after I log in.
The strange this is, it works for about 5-10 s then my pointer changes to that spinning blue wheel and everything becomes unresponsive. I can't click anything or use my keyboard, but I can still move the pointer. Here are some of the things I've tried:

I installed windows 10 in my laptop. But everytime i open it. It will show the desktop icons and all of my apps for few seconds then it will go blank. I cant do anything from my laptop. Its just plain black
