View 1 RepliesWhen I down loaded Win 10 yesterday, both my monitors worked fine. Now Win 10 says it can't detect the second monitor and can't save settings for a 2nd monitor. Monitor 2 is plugged in (Surface recognizes it with a chirp) and on. How do I fix this?
View 1 RepliesI have a Dell XPS 13 (2016) with a Dell USB-C adapter. It will not detect my NEC LCD external monitor. I have tried a Dell USB-C adapter and a D-SUB cable to the monitor. I have also tried a Monoprice USB-C adapter with a Monoprice HDMI cable. Neither work. The monitor works fine with my Mac. I have told the computer to extend and duplicate the display using the Windows-P command. I have tried to update the driver for the monitor (I have NEC's driver), but it will not install because the monitor is not detected.

View 8 RepliesI am switching to an ssd soon but my W10 key is a digital entitlement. I was given an iso of W10 from windows tech support in case I ever needed to reinstall W10.
If I install W10 using the iso that is now on a flash drive (media creation tool) to a brand new ssd, will the digital entitlement key be transfered as well, or will i have to purchase a copy of W10?
Bought Windows 10 Pro from an authorized dealer and successfully installed then activated Windows 10 on a standalone PC with the Activation key that came with the CD.
With that same CD I installed Windows 10 on a Laptop I had as well, (an additional machine). Could not activate because the key was already being used on the standalone. Okay fine....went to Windows Store and bought another key...arrrrg. The laptop activation was successful "Windows 10 on this device is activated with a digital entitlement"
So what happens if my Laptop goes south, crashes and burns lets say. I re-install Windows 10 with the CD I have, how is that Digital Entitlement I just bought for the Laptop, going to be applied? Or remembered? Surely I'm not going to have buy another...
When I installed Windows 10 upgrade I was pretty happy about how it ran. However, when I had finished a day of photography I went to download the pictures onto my computer, but Win 10 couldn't recognise Jpeg's or an other graphic extension such as raw.
When I connected my camera to the computer Win 10 did recognize the camera, so it's not a hardware issue.
I did a clean install to Windows 10, because upgrading it break the WiFi connectivity.
Now I got another issue, I noticed that the Audio Driver downloaded from Windows Update is somehow didn't sound good, if I enabled Dolby the bass is drastically reduced like no bass at all. I tried with headset and a small sound system, they both sound like a laptop speaker. The old driver couldn't be installed, the installer always failed.
I tried to use the same driver for windows 10 from another lenovo product with no different. It is not a big deal because I'm using a USB Headset. What matter is when I use a sound system to play music/movie the sound really bad. The solution for now is to disable Dolby but the sound is really low. I would like to know is there is a way to install the old driver to Windows 10 at least?
My sound card is Conexant SmartAudio other spec can be found in Sytem Spec and the installed driver version is 8.66.4.0.
Since upgrading to Windows 10 I have been unable to download photos from my mobile (not a smartphone just a Nokia with keypad) and my Sony camera. I always use one of the USB slots on my PC or a dongle on my desk which is attached to the PC and I keep getting a message saying it doesn't recognise the source. I am completely at a loss as to what to do next.
View 4 RepliesI have been up all night and morning now, trying to get my sound to work properly. But without any success.
I keep getting some noise / crackling as any kind of sound plays (even Windows tones), and I cant figure this out any more.
I reinstalled via. Device Manager, tried another driver (won't let me install, says Windows found the newest and best tho)
I'm about to give up on this Windows 10 already, seems like this is a huge problem, but to Realtek tho.
I have a Asus Rampage Extreme II with the SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD, and I tried literally everything.

Why can't I view video anymore on Facebook and other videos since downloading Windows 10? - videos appear green or like digital scrambled on Facebook now...
View 3 RepliesI've been running a multi-monitor setup for a while now, with an ASUS VG248QE 144Hz monitor as my main, and one or more spare monitors as secondary displays. I've set the ASUS monitor to 144Hz without issue in the past, while the other monitors stay at 60Hz.
The other night, Windows wanted to update. I figured it was the usual patch session, so I let it do its thing. However, after restarting my computer, I noticed that my ASUS monitor would only operate at 144Hz if it was the only monitor plugged into the system. When I try to set it higher in the Nvidia control panel, it just reverts back to 60Hz after applying changes. I updated my graphics drivers (though I was only one version behind) and even sought a special ASUS driver for the monitor to resolve the issue, but nothing has worked.
Did Windows recently add a forced refresh rate sync between all monitors recently? If so, that really sucks because I only own one 144Hz monitor.
I installed Windows 10 and found some apps did not fit the monitor screen (too big). I went in and changed the monitor resolution to a larger size (windows recommended 1920 x 1080) but I tried something larger, and now the monitor has a black screen with a little box moving around which says "input not supported". Not being able to use that monitor to go in and change it back, I hooked up a flat screen t.v. which worked but Windows only showed the current monitor size (which was smaller than the original monitor.
I tried the monitor on another computer I have also running Windows 10 and it worked fine. It shows the resolution as 1920 x 1080. When I plugged it back into the original computer I get the same plack screen with "input not supported" so I can't change it there. I suspect the issue is with the registry somewhere in Windows 10 on the first computer, but what the problem is. I've been working on this for a whole day now. You can probably tell I'm not well versed in computer technology. I just want my old monitor back (Acer K272HL) and I promise I won't mess around with it again.
I recently got a new monitor, an Eizo EV2750, which Windows only recognizes as a generic PnP monitor.
I've tried connecting it thorugh DisplayPort, HDMI and DVI without any luck. The often mentioned sollution, to unlplug everything and wait 10 minutes, does not work either.
The graphics card seems to read the EDID however, as in nVidia control panel it displays correctly as EV2750. Same thing with other applications, like DisplayCAL which I use as my color management system.
Seems like it's only an issue with Windows. This issue, however, also means that I can't get full functionality from the monitor. For instance, the ambient light sensor does not work (which is typical when Windows doesn't recognize the display properly).
So recently I upgraded to windows 10 at the same time I got a 4k display. When I set the display scaling to 150% on my main 4k monitor and ensuring that the scaling stays at 100% on my other two 1080p monitors, the entire chrome application is blurry when viewing on the 1080 monitors, and I cannot seem to fix this. Other applications seem to be okay.
Furthermore after the scaling change, some icons on my 1080 monitor's desktop get larger, as if some scaling is applied to them. Is there any solution to this? At the moment I have had to set the scaling back to 100% on my main monitor in order to use chrome on the smaller monitors.
I just installed Windows 10. Now my laptop monitor won't work - only the external monitor. I go to Graphic setting and click on multiple displays, but it states it doesn't see another device only the external monitor. Tried disconnecting the external monitor and rebooting, but the laptop display still doesn't turn on.
View 1 RepliesI am running Windows 10
MSI R9 390 GPU
AMD Catalyst version 15.7.1
Main monitor is CrossOver QHD270 via Dual Link DVI
Second display is a Vizio TV via HDMI/DisplayPort
So I was messing around with a 3 display setup for the first time today, one monitor (DVI) and two TVs (one HDMI, one DisplayPort). Everything worked okay, and I could unplug one TV, but when I unplugged the second TV, my monitor went to a black screen. As soon as I plugged the TV back in, the monitor started working again. The main monitor I use every day is now completely dependent on a TV I occasionally use as a second display to be plugged in to function. When I turn on the computer with just the monitor plugged in, I can see the BIOS load up, and the first Windows 10 logo, but as soon as the password screen should be shown, the screen goes black. I tried uninstalling my graphics drivers. When the drivers were completely uninstalled, the monitor functioned normally, but as soon at AMD Catalyst Control Center was reinstalled, it went black until the TV was plugged back in. I've tried plugging the TV up through HDMI and DisplayPort, it makes no difference. Also, my monitor is listed as the main display in both CCC and Windows 10 display settings. Every once in a while when I unplug the TV, the Monitor will get darker and slowly fade to black instead of going straight to black.
I've noticed when monitoring the task manager my ram usage never goes over 7.3GB used, Ive purposely tried to make it use more but it seems to hit a ceiling at that point.

I've now also noticed MSI Afterburner only detects 8GB.
Every bit of bench mark software detects 16GB
Bios detects 16GB
I am using slots A2 and B2 as per the ASUS user guide.

i just finished my first build and it's working perfectly.I have installed Windows on my 250 GB SSD and i'm now looking at the file manager. In the BIOS my 2 TB HDD could get detected, but it does not appear now.
View 1 RepliesI recently updated to windows 10 from windows 8.1 and I have encountered lots of issues,
Firstly, my graphics card (GeForce gtx 760) isn't detected at all! Judging by the frame rate in the few games I can run, it seems to be just using the Intel built in graphics in my cpu. I can't open GeForce experience to update my driver.
Secondly, My computer is booting and running far slower than it was with windows 8.1 and a lot of programs won't open.
I just updated Windows8 to Windows10 and my dvd/cd device is not detected anymore. When I go in the BIOS I see the device, but in windows explorer, I don't see the dvd device at all.
View 10 RepliesThe odd thing is I don't even use OneDrive except to automatically upload photos from my Android phone to my desktop; nothing has been detected on the phone.
I've run another full scan with Bitdefender and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (free) without any further detection.
Was just wondering if there might be other steps I need to carryout to be sure nothing spreads?
I updated my computer to Windows 10 Pro just few hours ago. I experienced some problems with the video drivers, but I solved them by updating the driver through nVidia GeForce Experience.
Now I have problems with my audio driver (which I think it is VIA HD Audio). My computer does not recognize my external microphone, only the internal one (which is not of the best quality). I looked for the drivers in the ASUS website, but I have found only outdated drivers for Windows 8. Then I saw the "sticky thread" on tenforums in this section and I tried to download the driver, but I do not want to mess up everything else as the site says:
Audio drivers available for download from the Realtek website are general drivers for our audio ICs, and may not offer the customizations made by your system/motherboard manufacturer. To be sure you obtain the full features/customizations provided in your original audio product, please download the latest drivers from your system/motherboard manufacturer's website.
So I'd like to find a good driver for my own PC (which is an ASUS G75).
In addition to it, it seems I have installed VIA HD Audio Control Panel, but I cannot access it because no window is shown when I start it.
When I go up to my cabin, Windows always changes my time zone to Pacific. I'm in Mountain Time, and I actually go east to get to the cabin. I don't know if it's the IP address, or the WiFi network, or what, but it happens every time. If I go into Time settings and disable automatically detect timezone, I can set it back to mountain time. But if I re-enable auto-detect, it switches right back to Pacific.
View 1 RepliesI've had this same issue on 3 computers I've upgraded to Windows 10 (which are the only three I've even needed to have a working disc drive on). Windows 10 will not show the disc drives anywhere. I've checked in the Device Manager and everywhere else I can look, but they don't ever show up. The drives and working and detected by the BIOS but not in Windows. I've already tired adding the popular EnumDevice1 registry value (the whole command is listed below) but it never works.
The registry key CMD command I've tried all 3 times: reg.exe add "HKLMSystemCurrentControlSetServicesatapiController0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001
I've been running Windows 10 on my PC for a few months now. I upgraded from Windows 7 and absolutely love it! However, I am having an issue. When I use my PC on a normal basis, Everything is good. Internet connection is perfectly stable, no problems. But ALWAYS if I restart my pc, and SOMETIMES when I put it to sleep, when my computer turns back on, my internet connection can't be detected. I have to unplug it for about 5-10 seconds and do a full reboot in order for my internet connection to be detected by my pc. None of my other devices have this issue. I have an xbox one, Smart tv, my phone, laptops, etc. connected and none of them have the same issue.
