May 23, 2015whenever i am on Windows 10 i get a constant popup that says that if i want to connect to the server i have to update my security settings. I then have two buttons: cancel and execute. Whichever i push makes no difference; the popup keeps appearing disrupting everything. Which server my computer is referring to. I am on build 10122 but this behavior was there on previous builds as well. When i return to 8.1 (dual boot) the problem is gone.

Security :: How To Change The Password
Mar 3, 2016I updated my laptop from Windows 8 to 10 successfully. I'm enjoying not having the computer constantly flip from screen to screen now. There's just one issue:
My computer was hacked, so I decided to change the password. Not the Microsoft password, which I changed successfully, but the one I type on the lock screen to unlock the computer. The current password was invented by me via windows 8, before the update.
I tried searching and found "do a control alt delete, then choose password change". That option didn't come up.
I tried a chat with Microsoft support and got an email so badly written I could hardly understand it. The writer had no clue how to change the password.
I tried logging out, then entering the wrong password, then going to the "forgot password" screen. It led me to change the Microsoft pass, but not the windows unlock screen pass which is not the same.
Surely, there must be some way to change a windows 10 unlock the computer password, but I've about given up.
Security Module Cannot Be Activated
Oct 8, 2015So I have my new system up and running beautifully, and finally I am able to install my favorite game (Sims 2 Ultimate Collection) And I go to play the game, and BAM I get an error message saying security module cannot be activated. I looked farther into this and it turns out michrosoft doesn't support games with SecuROM in win 10. So what the hell. Am I just simply not going to be able to play this game at all? Which really sucks because this is the only system I have and the only way I would ever be able to play it. Is there ANY work around??? Youtube has people playing sims 2 on windows 10, but they give no explanation.

Dec 29, 2015No matter what I do, I can not get this computer to shut down after the Norton 360 virus scan!!!! I had Norton look into it, and they said that it was fixed on my PC (through remote access), but every time I run the full or quick scan and tell it to shut down, it restarts!!! I F$#%(&G HATE WINDOWS 10. I am tempted to return to Windows 8.

Feb 16, 2016As of this afternoon I am being asked to enter a password every time I wake my desktop pc even though I've set it so a password is never required. The message on my pc says, "Authentication is required when this PC wakes from sleep. Security policies on this PC are preventing you from changing this setting." The only thing I have done differently today is set up the mail app to handle my different accounts. This is frustrating.

Oct 31, 2015When I switched my laptop on a few hours ago it stated bit locker and key needed. I've tried to reset and remove all personal files (all my files are saved on cloud) but their 'was a problem resetting pc'. Then tried to get key (using internet on phone) but their was an error from Windows when I tried to input password for accessing cloud. However I can access my cloud through the app on my phone without any problems.
Called a pc repair service and they said the only option was to wait until I Windows could give me a recovery key.

Jan 15, 2016My PC is a home build with ASUS mother board, XENON CPU and 16 GB of RAM; it has run flawlessly for two years on Win 7 Pro; I changed to the "free" Win 10 dwnld and everything ran smoothly for past 3 months. Started up today and "no screen" with the typical bios info and nothing but darkness. I'm not sure if this is a virus security problem since my past experiences all had screen feed back with bios access prior to Windows starting. Assuming some villain attacked my PC at its heart by somehow messing up the bios set up, I tried restoring any lost or corrupted files using a flash drive with the ASUS ROM file on the MB disc as well as a latest downld. Still no relief. If not a security matter or a Win 10 fault, perhaps the mother board failed at some innocuous point which allows the board to function with all fans running and using power. I thought the NVidia adapter card could be at fault and installed a tested spare with no change in lack of video for the bios. Still have to test the power circuits and will let you know of any success.

Sep 22, 2015I know it's in Windows, because it appears in all three browsers(Firefox,Chrome, and Edge) and in Word, Open Office, etc. It's an ad, but Ad Block Plus, Ad-Aware won't remove it. It just shows up as a band about 4-6" across the bottom of the screen. I can type over it, but it blocks most of what's in back. It basically says Series 5, Hyper Real Engine with a Samsung logo inside. How can I get rid of it? It comes on, stays on for about 15 seconds, disappears for around 15 seconds and the continuous loop never stops. I've tried everything, including anti-virus programs, turning my PC on and off, but no success.

Jan 18, 2016So, I built my grandparents a computer and they upgraded to windows 10. now they keep getting the error message "Kernel Security Check Failure" then the computer reboots. I was told I should upgrade drivers as since it is a custom computer it can't do it itself during the upgrade. Is this the right thing to do. I also download their motherboard drivers and it comes in an all in one package from AsRock. I can only do this over facetime which is hard because they aren't the best with tech. They run setup and it installs AMD catalyst then finish's install which doesn't make sense as the download package is 550MB large.

Always Set Hosts File To Read Only As Security Measure
