Oct 27, 2015My windows fire wall won't turn on no matter what i do i tried every thing i found on the internet but with no luck at all i went to services and clicked on start but every time i do it i get this error and of course i also tried uninstalling my ESET nod 32 V9 antivirus but it didn't work and i really want this problem fixed mainly cuz it turns out that i can't download or update apps from the store if my firewall is off .

How can I do it via registry? I found a snippet but didn't work for my Windows 10, am I somewhere wrong or it should have some changes to work?!

Can't Turn On Windows Firewall - Access Denied
Nov 29, 2015(On Windows 10) I can't seem to be able to turn on windows firewall... From action center turning it on fails and it sends me to turn it on manually, but when I try and do that, nothing happens. It seems to load for a while, but nothing happens.
Windows Firewall Authorization Driver is where it should be in it's file location, but when I looked in device manager I couldn't find it (showing hidden).
The windows firewall service is on automatic, but won't turn on. (When I try turning it on it exits with permission denied error) base Filtering Service is on automatic and is running.
WMI repository is consistent.
I had a trojan in my temp files earlier, but other than that no viruses.
I ran: Malwarebytes, superAntiSpyware and Spybot
The problem first appeared today (I don't think it was present yesterday). I don't think anything else has changed except, I re-installed Spotify. It was unable to initialize the storage of temporary files. (I have an old version of spotify that has been tricked to not update).
I just ran sfc and it found some problems and apparently couldn't fix them all. This might be because I used a program to delete parts of windows that i don't want. (mainly Microsoft's spying stuff and store apps) I just don't know if the problems it found were actual problems or just "Windows 10 seems to be missing essential botnet services" ...
This install is less than 2 weeks old, so I doubt there is that much corruption or something like that.

Aug 8, 2015After win10 install, I finally found list of installed programs, and shows ad aware anti virus and private firewall both installed, but not finding them on task bar (or whatever its now called in lower right) tho ad aware Web Companion shows. how to see if they are actually working & maybe show an icon somewhere?

Aug 20, 2015Every time I switch on my PC, after about 5 minutes, I get this annoying notification (see picture) from my OS asking me to turn on the security center service; please, note that, on my PC, I am judge, jury and executioner, meaning I decide what stays on and off, at least I've always been so although now, with Windows 10, this has become somehow more difficult. So, yes, I have turned off the security center service because I don't need it and I don't want it! Furthermore.
Now. I've tried disabling every possible notification I could find under the notification menu and the security center one; I've Googled for a solution but I haven't found anything: apparently, everybody loves this service.
While I'm here, is it possible to obtain system privileges in Windows 10? I've tried the old trick with the cmd task but it doesn't work anymore: the cmd windows does open and with "system" as well but it's not interactive apparently.

Aug 3, 2015I'm using a Dell E7240, did a fresh install of Windows 10. I can pick up all sorts of WIFI connections and connect to them successfully.
However when I wanted to use my internal 3G modem it tells me that the "radio is off" and I can't enable this in settings? Its greyed out, f I enable flight mode is greys out the WIFI and Bluetooth switches. When I disable flight mode it allows me to turn WIFI and Bluetooth off/on but "radio" remains greyed out.
Checked BIOS settings, checked driver for the Mobile Broadband Card, disabled and enable the adapter.
Still does not want to allow me to enable the radio. I can manage the SIM PIN so I can change it or turn on or off.
It even shows me the network provider if I disable the SIM PIN, but the radio remains off!

Mar 2, 2016So I have an HP Envy laptop. Recently web browsing has intermittently become painfully slow on both Edge and Chrome (e.g. loading this website hung for a few minutes) and I have many timeouts on websites. This appears to be the case even when I use different Wifi networks. I do not have this problem with my desktop which shares the network.
I was wondering in Windows was in the middle of some update, but when I click on Settings -> Update & Security Settings, the control panel window simply loads a white field on the right and the words: Windows Update, Windows Defender, Backup, Recovery, Activation, Find My Device, and For Developers. I can click on nothing. The control panel often freezes (e.g. if I click on a web browser I cannot click back on its icon, but can see it if I minimize all other applications) and eventually auto-closes. When I search for Advanced Windows Update settings, I get a light blue screen with the control panel icon in the center which promptly auto-closes. I can access all other control panel options, just not anything below Update & Security.
I downloaded Microsoft Security Scanner and ran than across the entire system; no threats were found. I currently am running Windows Defender which last updated itself this early this morning.
I am using Windows 10 version 1511 OS build 10586.104.
I used to be a knowledgeable Windows user, but stop keeping current a couple of versions back. Does this sound like anything familiar or previously seen?

Jun 24, 2015I have Windows Firewall disabled. I know this and it has to stay that way. I use a lot of AV apps that will not function with it on, even with exceptions.
In any case, I keep getting toast alerts saying it is disabled and I can't get rid of it. I had Action Center enabled, right clicked, and hit Disable Notifications for this app, but they keep coming back.
So, I disabled Action Center. Still get the toast alerts. HOW do I disable these? I miss the old Action Center control panel where I could just uncheck a dozen or so boxes and I never got bothered.

This all started happening after I upgraded my power supple but I when I put my old power supple in I had the same problem. Feb 2, 2016I upgraded from 7 to 10 (no problems) and all worked with the exception of Ad-Aware Pro (AA). Win10 disabled AA ( no problem). I can't tell you how many times I uninstalled/re-installed AA trying to get it to work. I have had numerous contacts with AA support and the AA forum, still nothing. I have always used Win firewall. I don't like putting all my eggs in one basket. When I try to turn on win firewall from the Control Panel iI get the message 'Security & Maintenance cannot turn on Win Firewall'. When I try to turn it on manually, nothing happens.
Right now I can live without AA. I can use Win Defender and Win Firewall, if it would work. I can wait for AA to figure out what is wrong with AA, I mean they only had 5/6 months to figure it out!how to correct the Win firewall issue.
Antivirus :: How To Stop Constant All Day Reminder About Firewall

The documentation on att.com says to disable your desktop firewall because we are behind a N.A.T.S and having more than one firewall will slow you down or conflict. But there is a constant all day reminder that continues to annoy me. I wish I had the option as in windows 7 to "use another firewall" so it would stop but not. Is there a way to stop this?
