both my partner and I have iphone 5s we've both backed our photo's up on the same windows 10 pc but it's merged everything according to date. Is there a simple way to separate the photos into two distinct folders?
View 1 RepliesI swear I had a import photos and videos option for devices on Windows 10 but now it seems I don't. This is what I get for options.I don't even have the options in my autoplay settings and default settings.
View 9 RepliesLaptop Samsung NP300V5A. Sound stops working about a month after Win 10 upgrade. No changes done at the time.Audio devices show up under Device Manager, but not under Playback/Recording Devices. Same for Realtek Sound Manager - it doesn't see the devices. I can install, delete and update drivers under Device manager but it doesn't make any difference. It is not a physical problem, tested on Linux live CD.
Solutions tried:
-Installing various versions of HD Realtek Drivers (including windows update version)
-Installing/Removing Realtek software.
-Enabling/Disabling devices under Device Manager
-Called spirits of ancestors. Seemed like it worked for a while, but ended up being a joke.
-Did system restore to various dates.
-Restarted in safe mode
-Restarted various services such as Windows Audio, Windows Audio Endpoint Builder, Plug'n'Pray, Power, etc.
-Checked system, application and driver even logs.
-Tried a couple of registry fixes. Angered spirits of ancestors. Turning gray..
-Reinstalled chipset drivers
-Rebooted about 30 times
-Sound Device Troubleshooting finds no issues
-Display Disabled Devices is enabled

After a long struggle to import my pix from the camera to Win10 and finally succeeding, I've now another mystery
1. How to put the imported 10 or so photos into a folder? I did it with another bunch of imported photos and now I can't remember how I did it though I tried and tried..
2. How can I pick out the ones I want to send (and how to send them by email?) as I prefer not to delete the ones I won't send, to avoid later regrets. I don't even know how to delete any individual photos....
MS keeps everything a secret - no links to choose photos, or delete them, or send them, or change the order in which they are arranged, etc. I had come to learn photos in Win7 with "Photo Gallery" after a long time - now I'm condemned to the same torture on the new windows!
Even if I mark an album, say, 'my documents' as a "documents" type folder in my onedrive online settings, these photos will still be included in my 'photos' tab stream. that and, any photo ever that's on my PC will show up- not just photos in my "my photos" folder on my PC. it's really annoying, i'm getting gamesave pictures, wallpapers, screenshots, and all kinds of random crap that aren't supposed to be part of my camera roll stream all over my one drive... why is it doing this?

View 1 RepliesSo I upgraded my Surface Pro 3 to Windows 10 last night and so far quite impressed. However it looks like an issue has carried over from Windows 8.1 to 10.
I'm finding that the Photos app cannot see the photos stored on my SD card. I have directed the library to point to the SD card and it is the only location defined in the Library for Photos. This was a problem in 8.1 but as I never used the app I stopped worrying about trying to sort it. However I can see myself using the app in 10, so would like to figure out what is happening.
It's not a case of the app not showing duplicates because I temporarily disabled the option for it to show OneDrive photos and now nothing shows.
I was trying to move files from my SSD (C:) to my HDD (D:). I unwittingly moved the location of the desktop file to D:, and now I can't separate the two, and all of my HDD files are shown on my desktop. How do I separate the two, and get the desktop file within D:, not as the D:. Is it even possible?

I used the forced upgrade method explained on this site using the media creation tool and belarc advisor both computers have the same serials and i dunno what to do at this point...
View 1 RepliesI decided to install Windows 10 on another partition on my disk. This hard drive already has Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 installed on separate partitions. I never had a problem when switching between the three. Now that I have installed Windows 10, I can't switch between any of them. It simply won't recognise the other OS's. Is there any way around this?

it shows removable drives, optical drives and hard drives in one group together. This is one of the the worst changes made to Windows. Sadly, the OS does not offer you any option to the ungroup drives logically so local drives are in one group and the rest in another.
Wondering how Windows 10 deals with putting data on a separate partition or drive. Does it use the same general method as in Windows 7, where it re-maps (for example) "Documents" to a folder on a different letter drive path? So that C:Users{user}Documents becomes G:Users{user}Documents?
I'm hoping that it actually becomes more like *nix, using symbolic links to point to the right place (so C:Users{user}Documents points to the separate partition of drive). Personally, I find the Win7 method to be clunky and problematic in actual use.
What I'm planning to do is upgrade my rig with an SSD, but I don't really want to lose my files. Is there a way to refresh Windows, and have the "refreshed" install and my files on a separate drive than what Windows was originally installed on?

However I can not repeat that and instead I keep getting it split in to 3 partitions?
I only want 2 partitions 1 x 1TB + 1 x 2 TB
I am doing this on this system (Windows 10, 32 bit) Home edition, because my ACRONIS Total Image 2016 won't recognise a 3 TB drive.
BTW: I have two other registered Windows systems 1. Windows 10 Prof. & 2. Windows 7 Prof. both using 64 bit, that I don't have problems with.

I made the mistake of moving the download folder to the desktop folder. Now it uses the same folder for both desktop and downloads. I see no way to separate them again. On the "This PC" screen, it shows "Desktop" for both the download and desktop icons. I tried the regedit fix, but it didn't work. How can I separate desktop and downloads, like it was originally?

View 9 RepliesI have two windows 10 computers on the same network in different rooms. One is in my bedroom, one is in the living room. My roommate's girlfriend has a 10 year old son that comes by sometimes. I like to have my pin up girls on the desktop in my room but I keep generic desktop themes in the computer in the living room since I let other people use that one. I had to reinstall Windows 10 on the computer in the living room, and for some reason, the themes keep syncing and I can't figure out how to keep them separate (the computer also share the same Windows ID, it did it on it's own). So if I have my pin up girl theme in my room, eventually it shows on the computer in the living room. If I use a generic theme in the living room, eventually it shows in the bedroom. How do I keep these desktop themes separate?
View 2 RepliesI created the USB recovery drive successfully with the option "Back up system files to the recovery drive".
Since I needed the USB for another purpose, I transferred the files from the USB to a separate partition on an external HDD and made this drive bootable using YUMI.
So now, on the same laptop, I am able to boot to this new partition on my external HDD where windows recovery environment comes up just fine. I did not want to test the reset or refresh part. Out of curiosity, I clicked on the "System Restore" option on the advanced options screen. I got an error message "To use system restore, you must specify which Windows installation to restore. Restart this computer, select an operating system and then select System Restore"
I'm trying to access my user folder on a different hard drive, but it takes forever to load and then afterwards does nothing. I think I've already set all the permissions and stuff but it still isn't working.

I have windows 7 on one ssd and going to have windows 10 on a second. Will i have to disable fast startup in windows 10 or any other type of hibernation settings.

I would like to have separate audio through speakers and headphones, but the realtek only allows me to hear audio through one audio source. is there a way to separate the two so i can have audio (music etc) and have Skype run through my headphones. this problem only occurred after installing windows 10.

The problem is that my laptop has only 1 jack with headphones and microphone icon, so it should be a combo jack. About 2 months ago I've bought an splitter [URL] , that has one cable red and one green so it should work. It's the same as in picture. But when I plug everything in correctly microphone is not working and headphones have reversed sound, when sound should come from left side it comes from right. I've tried to reinstall software (realtek) many times, also bought another one splitter, but no success.
