The image says by itself .. When I try to put it to the very edge, it snaps it away a little .. Is there a setting or something to turn this thing off? Noticed this problem just with skype, not anything else ..

View 1 RepliesI was using skype as usual, put my computer to sleep, and woke it a few hours later. (Laptop) Anyways, I tabbed over to skype, and started fiddling with video options (I was trying out a spare webcam since my laptop's is horrible). I compared the two feeds for a while, and clicked the drop-down option for my laptop camera to compare again.
This is when my skype stopped responding, and I closed it with Task Manager. When I opened it again, I received an error telling me I was already logged on. When checking Task Manager for any skype processes to close so I could entirely restart the program, I found this: [URL] .... I have it highlighted. I can't end the task.
I use my computer in a business. For one of our companies I have to use Internet explorer. When I go to the form I want it takes me to the edge browser for some reason and it not typeable. The other two computers in our office work just fine.
View 4 RepliesIn IE, there was a setting to open links (e.g., ones selected by shift-clicking, or ones with a target attribute in the anchor tag) into a new window instead of a new tab. I can't find a way to do this in Edge - in general, the number of user-adjustable settings seems to be MUCH smaller in Edge. Is there a way?
View 5 RepliesI recently updated to windows 10. I play WoW often and lately when I get a skype call with the game on everything freezes then screen goes black. It's recovered once but typically requires me manually shutting the laptop down. It's an HP and came with 8.1. I bought it new and have had it under a year.
Wanted to add that I can usually hear sound for a while after the screen has gone black. I even continued a skype call for about 3 minutes until the sound cut out too.
Can't set any resolution on 1600x900 on my pc after that i installed win 10. I also downloaded nVIDIA.GeForce.Driver.341.81.win.10.R2.x64 but again it didn't work.

We just updated our laptop to windows 10. The browsers edge/chrome/firefox hang up when tried to type in address bar or search window. mouse click works, but try typing and the browsers freeze, In Internet explorer typing in address bar works but cannot type in search box like google or any email login page like gmail, yahoo. Update went fine. Our PC does not have touch screen
View 3 RepliesI am irritated by the "Windows 8" apps screen, set as my default. It shows all the tiles I need and seems to work well enough, but if (for example) I go into emails and then want to come out, I'm taken back to the start menu and must click on "Windows 8" again to open the apps screen.
Is there any way I can change settings so I'm returned immediately to the apps screen? I know it's just a couple more clicks but it seems so pointless to be slowed down every time in that way.
Edge is a great browser! However one thing I really miss from IE is having my favorites sidebar always visible at all times. With Edge you have to select it EACH TIME and pin it to the window display. This becomes a real pain and seems unnecessary. Is it possible to configure the favorite's sidebar to be always on by default? A real extra would be to have it on the left hand side again like IE which seemed to have this facility/capability just right. The horizontal favorites across the top is useless because so few are visible. (No luck with other forums) else I'm going back to IE.
View 7 RepliesIt's a minor annoyance but once every 5-10 tries the mouse will fail to grab a program or explorer window when it should be dragging it across the screen. I'm positive it's not an issue with my wired mouse because I never had problems before Windows 10. Just to make sure I used the mouse to drag files and folders around over 100 times with perfect accuracy, so it's definately something funky related to just the title bar of any program.

View 9 RepliesI sometimes connect to my Windows 10 PC at my work place from home.
When I was using Windows-7(work place PC), I was able to select the menu button (lower-left) and select 'Lock Screen' menu from the shutdown sub-menu. I recently received a new desktop PC which is Windows-10, but I found Windowns 10 doesn't have such 'lock-screen' menu that I can choose with my mouse. So the only way I can lock the screen is using Window-L button which is ok when I'm at work. But when I'm remotely logged in from my home, if I press Window-L keys, my home notebook is screen locked, not my work place Desktop.
Updated to 10 and it's been working ok but now after booting up and getting to the home screen with task bar I can not get the main window to open. If I open an app (left click opens the menu ok) ie Firefox it shows in the task bar and the small window appears but the main window will not open. It probably something simple but I am stuck.
View 14 RepliesI did upgrade to windows 10 from windows 8.1 but found that my favourate games would not run on full screen but only in a window.... (X2 the Treat, X3 games....)
Did find a few anoying problems with the start menu but can see there would be improvment so could live with it.
But the fullscreen problem drove me mad so reverted back to 8.1.
Have microsoft solved this problem yet..?
Or should I continue to stay on 8.1...?
My laptop was multibooted with windows 10 preview and windows 7..after 1st restart everythng was normal..but from the next restart my laptop screen is going black instead of showing the window CHOOSE YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM..i can see only the mouse pointer..but by seeig from the 1st restart , i knew that topmost and default option was windows 10 and the lower option was windows 7...
I clicked the topmost place where i used to see the option as windows 10 and then it loaded just like normal, next time i clicked the lowermost option and it started the windows 7..the problem is that i am getting black screen that i am invisible to the option of chooing the operating system..i is now in a condition that i have to click without seeing anything on the screen, but just by imagining.
Edge swipes no longer work after latest update, all other features of touch screen work but no edge swipes to bring into view currently used apps screen or control centre . (left and right edge swipes)
View 1 RepliesI have Windows 10..Just recently I have found that when I open a folder on my desktop which opens in maximized mode, and then go ahead and click to restore the window to a smaller size, instead of doing so, the window restores to the width of the three buttons at the top (minimize, restore, close) and then the file explorer window crashes and freezes for a few seconds, my screen goes black for a few seconds, then I am returned to the desktop, where the window has closed.Is this a sign of hard drive corruption?
View 1 RepliesI recently upgraded to window 10 from window 7 with iso file. I didn't had internet access then, but my window run successfully. Later, when i tried to attach another display with Laptop it did not detect it. So, i installed the windows updates. But after installing i was unable to boot into windows. A black screen with blinking cursor appears right after the Dell Logo. I am only able to go into bios setup by pressing F2, no safe mode option. I tried making a bootable Pen drive for repair but even it wasn't detected. I already change the boot priority in bios menu. Therefore i am unable to fresh install the window as laptop cd drive is not functioning from quite some time.
View 3 RepliesLast, previously closed window outline remains displayed. Sometimes can 'force' it to go away by left clicking on an unused portion of desktop but not always.
Just got laptop for Christmas and has always had this problem so might be a setting.
Have looked at Advanced -> Visual Settings but didn't see any that looked like would fix (tried setting Best Performance - which turned everything off but didn't fix)
I installed Win 10 on a new pc I built. Its working ok except twice when I turned the pc on all the icons had shifted to the left side of the monitor screen. Normally I group the icons into groups that are alike. When they snap to the left it is a mess. Is this a problem with Win 10? Is there a way I can get them back to groups without doing it one icon at a time?
View 2 RepliesI was trying to fix this problem on my grandparents computer. They have windows 10 and everything launched is fullscreen. The start bar is always fullscreen, microsoft edge, settings. I have to hover over the top right corner of the screen for the x to pop up. They both really want the start screen to not be fullscreen I've already turned it off in the settings yet it is still fullscreen and I tried restarting the computer after changing the setting and still fullscreen.
