Shockwave Flash Plugin - Opening WMV Video Crashes
Sep 16, 2015
Few days ago I realized my Google Chrome was having issue with Shockwave flash. I got a popup saying there was an issue and it would not respond. Then I tried firefox and got same issue. I tinkered around with flash, removed and re installed it however when I attempted to play a flash video online, it displayed only a picture and not play video.
So I attempted to play a WMV file on my computer and that too ended up freezing and slowed my system down where I had to exit out of media player. I ran Malware and Virus scans, and I dont seem to have any issues there unless I missed something. Also, I did hear something about Flash being replaced by html5 soon.

I have 2 windows 10 Laptops. Both upgraded from Win 7 Pro. The first one I did from a CD, (Had to buy a copy of win 10)
The thing rocked for a few days with Win10 and everything was great. Very fast and after some figuring out where everything went, it was fine. UNTIL, an update got applied to either Chrome or Win10 and now Chrome Crashes immediately on opening. Even when trying to uninstall it. Have to go to safe mode to uninstall it. Tried Canary and still same result, Crash, Just chrome nothing else and no BSOD. All the other browsers work just fine, but I've kind of become attached to Chrome. BTW the second laptop I just upgraded the other night is still working just fine.

I recently upgraded to Windows 10, since upgrading I'm having pretty regular BSOD Crashes where the following error message appears;
VIDEO TDR FAILURE (nvlddmkm.sys)
It appears to happen at completely random times, could be watching a youtube video, opening a reddit page or just playing a song on itunes. I've updated to the most recent Nvidia drivers but to no avail. I also tried to follow the following instructions from this youtube video [URL] ...., however its still happening.
My computer is currently pretty much unusable! Specs are below :

I have upgraded from w 8 to 10, and later a did a fresh install of windows 10. The PC is a Lenovo M180, CPU D2700, display adaptor AMD Radeon HD6400 that I use to drive a HDMI TV. It has been working fine for some years with windows 7. Then I got the messages for upgrade to 10.
Every attempt to run video crashes the machine with error. WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR .... Using W10 Photo or TV and Video, but also when accessing any video on Chrome, or apps like NETFLIX. What can I do?

One night I go on my pc to find out that it doesn't work properly anymore. I boot up normally but when I try to open any program, the loading icon appears on my cursor and after about 10 seconds my desktop crashes. My wallpapers turn from their normal wallpaper element to white plain background (the same way when a program is not responding it turns white).
Even if I am able to open a program, it will take 1 plus minute to open it, and then take another minute to close it. I tried to download drivers but it wouldn't let me because it just crashes.
My build is:
Amd fx 6300 @ 3.8ghz
Gtx 760
Asus M5A97 R2.0
Samsung evo 840 120gb ssd
A 1TB and 2TB drive
550w psu
Windows 10
I can't reinstall windows 10 as I don't have the disc since I got it for free from the windows 7 upgrade, and my windows 7 reinstallation disc is broken, so that's a no go.

I have a custom built PC with Windows 10 Home x64-bit and I constantly get crashes. Sometimes I can be on for 5 minutes then it crashes, sometimes an hour. Sometimes there will be a completely white screen, a colorful screen with many-mini squares, and sometimes BSOD video_scheduler_internal_error. I have tried many, many things and nothing works.

I am running Windows 10 with the Insider Program. It's the 64 bit version. I have the latest (just checked) NVIDIA driver for my GTX 560 Ti.
In the last few days I've experienced a problem in which the graphics driver crashes and then recovers after a few seconds. When it crashes, the screen goes black, as if there's no signal. Then it goes back on, but if I was playing a video when it crashed, the media player (MPC-HC) needs to be restarted, otherwise playback cannot be resumed.
It also happens during general use, ie web browsing and such, though it certainly is more frequent when playing back videos. I'd say 80% of the crashes occur during video playback. And when that happens, in addition to the black screen, the GPU's fan goes full power until the driver is restored.
Since NVIDIA hasn't released a new Windows 10 driver since July, is it safe to say that it's a hardware and not a software issue?

I just bought a laptop with Win 10 64Bit. I loaded Chrome, and everytime I use Facebook, and click on an external site with media, or Flash media, that site says "Cannot load plugin". I installed the latest Flash app, even though Chrome SAYS it ALWAYS AUTOMATICALLY updates ALL PLUGINS!!

My PC Details are:
Lenovo-Q200-Desktop
Windows 10 - 32bit - Enterprise - Evalution edition
Intel Core2 Duo E4600 2.4GHz
Recently I have installed Windows 10 Enterprise Evalution edition in my PC. The Bluetooth USB dongle, when plugged-in doesn't create 1)the notification sound 2)Dongle's LED not glowing 3)drivers not installed by win10 4)no errors displayed 5)no entries added into device manager.
All the above used to happen when I plugged into PC in another Vista partition.
I noticed that under This-PC, Only the partitions are listed as C,D etc. There are no Removeable Disks segment like in Vista
I have 5 USB ports in my PC. When I connect an external HDD, a drive letter is added and am able to use the HDD. In another USB, I have permanently added USB-Receiver for my keyboard and mouse which is sensed by windows-10. If I use the same USB port for my bluetooth dongle, no reaction from the PC.

My browsers continually freeze since "upgrading" to Windows 10. It is the now legendary "Shockwave Flash Player" issue - and it is intensely frustrating. Every day, use of any browser - explorer, chrome, firefox and that new "Edge" in Windows 10 results in pages freezing and the same tired old message about the Shockwave pulg-in not working.

I have upgraded my laptop over a month now with windows 10 and never had major issues.
Recently (over a week now) internet browsers keep crashing whenever there is video content. Sites like facebook, youtube etc.. even apps for youtube do not work. I've checked a bit and seems like shockwave is the fault. Tried to check for updates but didn't find anything useful on the net.

I upgraded my Lenovo U310 laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 a week ago. Everything seems to have upgraded successfully. The only problem that I can find is that none of the video streaming from Windows 10 apps can be played. I get an error 'Unsupported video type or invalid file path' when I click on a video article in USA Today or when I try to stream video from any other apps, NBC News, MSN Money, etc... from Windows 10 store.
I have no issue streaming videos from any of the browser though. What could be missing that could cause video streaming to fail?

I'm interested in the W10 free upgrade from a usb ISO image. I now have W7.
A couple of questions concerning the W10 installation from a bootable usb ISO image - will the hard drive require prior repartitioning, and what do I do when the install process asks for the license key ? AS I recall, installing W7 without a key only allowed 30 days of use.

In Windows 10, I insert the flash drive and the File Explorer window opens. I then double click on a file to open it's supporting app. I close both the File Explorer window and the app and eject the drive. The first eject results in a "device is currently in use" message. The second click displays the "Safe to remove" message.
If I don't open the app and just close the File Explorer window, the first eject attempt is successful.
In Win 7, I could eject the drive without closing the Windows Explorer window or the app. Ejecting the drive would close the Windows Explorer window and leave the app open, displaying the "Safe to remove" message. The file would remain in memory to be read. But an attempt to save it would fail.

I'm currently trying to upgrade my Windows 7 computer to Windows 10. My attempt at upgrading to Windows 10 fail time after time. That's when i remembered I didn't install the optional update KB3064209 .Unfortunately, the infamous "death loop" happens when I do install; this only happens for Pentium G3258 users which I happen to be one. So to fix this I found out Asrock, my motherboard is the Asrock B85 Anniversary, released a bios update that says it's for the "update microcode 19". This happens to be what KB3064209 is... a microcode update.
Link to new bios (it is the version 1.40): [URL] .....
The question is should I flash my bios for this situation? After all the warnings I've read about never flashing bios unless something is a catastrophe?

It's not very often at all but now and then the desktop icons will refresh in a split second, is this normal? I also use fast start/boot. It's very quick, goes through bios and login screen is instant but the icons don't all pop up on my desktop immediately, some of them display whilst a handful tend to take a couple seconds to display (white generic paper icon) until this happens, happens every boot. It's still extremely fast, got a love SSD in combo with fast boot.
I notice the flash most when new software is being installed although I am not sure that's always the case. Would increasing the max icon cache work? I am sure this is more useful if icons start changing but maybe it is an advisable move? What is the default size of the Max icon cache in Windows 10. I am sure it was 500 kb on Windows 7.

I have been having problems starting up windows. I have a SSD in my laptop and I'm not sure if it is failing, or if my windows files are corrupt.
1.Windows will sometimes start, allow me to log in, but then freeze as soon as I get to the desktop.
2.Windows will start up to the login window and then freeze.
3.Computer will start, have a blank screen, but still have mouse that i can move.
4.Computer will start with error "hard disk (3f0)
Laptop does all four of these in varying order, but most often it would do 2.
I have not been able to get it started into safe mode yet. (freezes up before getting there).I do have a bootable flash drive with Ubuntu on it, but when it boot, it doesn't recognize the hard drive.
