View 1 RepliesWhat's wrong with this PC when using Windows 10?This is happens when I'm fresh boot like Shut Down & turn on again/restart the PC.Documents, Picture, Music, & all of them! They keep revert back to without my name & access it to Full Control!I can't save my work, i can't open my VMWare, at least until I'm check the permission on C:Users(My name) & add my name 2 Full Control it. This step need 2 be repeated everytime i restart/turn on my laptop. But this won't happen on my big PC & my parents PC which both PC also running Windows 10 Pro same like my laptop...Saying 2 change the directory to another drive wouldn't be easy since this is "LAPTOP" & I only have 1 HDD & no other partition except C: i'm tired with this laptop & confuse Y this is only happen on my beloved laptop but on my PC it just normal & no need 2 do that complicated things just like this laptop start 2 make me stress.
View 3 RepliesAfter a recent upgrade to Windows 10 pro I lost all my files within my documents The funny thing is that all files within my pictures and video, music were not affected.
View 9 RepliesI have used Windows 8 for a while and I recently updated it to Windows 10. After installing Windows 10, I downloaded a lot of files as well as played a lot of games without logging in to my Microsoft account. I only recently logged into my Microsoft account and after I restarted my PC after updating Windows 10, all files in my documents folder disappeared. All save game files, all downloads - everything completely disappeared. I tried using the Search option and I couldn't find any files from that time.

View 1 RepliesIs there a way to change the way the folders and files are displayed in My Documents?
I recently upgraded to 10 but I have a slight issue with 'My Documents'. Most of my files are in folders in My Documents and in Windows 7 I was able to filter by most recent updated with folders listed first followed by the documents which are not saved in folders. I have not found a way to duplicate this convenient display in 10.
At 1am December 10th everything was there, as of 7am everything is missing. All my files and half of my desktop icons are gone. What happened? What can I do to retrieve my important stuff?
View 3 RepliesI was trying to redirect my game save files in my documents which is on my ssd where windows 10 is installed on to my hard drive when I accidently replaced my user folder with the documents one, now all the files which were in my user folder are in the documents one as well as the games which were in the document file!!!I tried to put it back but the two files seem to have merged.
View 1 RepliesAs with many I have upgraded to Windows 10 today and it is going well except for the fact I am unable to save any files or create new ones in the Documents and Pictures folders or any sub-folders within these folders. For instance, I tried to save an image created in paint and attempted to save it in the Pictures folder, it gave me the error message seen in this picture below:
Note, I am the only user on the system, and also the admin account so I do not know why it says this. Clicking Yes on the box does nothing and the same thing still occurs afterward. In addition, bringing up the right click menu and going to new only allows me to create a new folder, and the windows admin shield icon appears next to it. Deleting files also prompts me to ask for admin permission but in that case I can simply click the continue button and it goes through.
Iinstalled windows 10. After installation, my files were ok. Immediately, i moved them to the desktop and documents. Then, i restart the pc. Then i see that all my files (on desktop and documents) are gone. My programms and other files are ok but the ones that i moved to desktop and documents were deleted. How can I restore them?
View 3 RepliesWhen I click on my "Documents" (formerly "My Documents") folder in Windows 10, it appears to be taking a long time to download the files that are contained within it.
View 8 RepliesI did the install yesterday - no problem. When I tried to open Word and Excel today, they were empty. All of my files were gone! Can I get them back?
View 1 RepliesI just updated to windows 10 and when I first started up my computer my files were there, just moved to a different folder(i had to access them through C:/users) I then restarted my computer and now all of files that were on my desktop, downloads folder, pictures, and music folder have all disappeared. Searching for them using Cortana gives no results. Is there anyway I can get them back? Should I try restoring my system to Windows 7?
View 7 RepliesI am using Word 2013 on my laptop. Windows 8 was operating system. Recently upgraded to Windows 10. When I save Word documents now, they are saved as Wordpad documents. (.xml files) Wordpad does not recommend some of the Word formatting and alters the documents.
How do I correct this? I want the save as Word documents, as I did in the past.
I've trying out the new preview, 10240. Everything works fine except for the default documents folder (and the same for Images). As my screenshots reveal, by default the documents and images folder are the ones with OneDrive. (My system is in Spanish, but it seems self-explanatory, I believe)
After some examination, I located the "Storage" section in the new settings window and I see that the default folder for Documents is OneDrive. However, after I set to "This PC (Drive C)" it doesn't do anything, as as soon as I close the window, the option reverts back to OneDrive.
I actually like and use OneDrive, and I had no problems with it with Win8.1. So I don't want to disable it.
How to remove those annoying "back up files" notifications in action center when I already use an external drive

View 7 RepliesNothing changed, nothing installed. Edge stopped working, Cortana stopped working. Mail stopped working. SFC scannow found corrupt files but unable to fix.Reset keep files and settings failed to boot and rolled back. As did remove everything.Stuck with a very broken PC that is filling logs with everything stopped working and was closed.Just defender installed.
View 9 Repliesthe go back button on edge doesn't seem to have the ability to, when you click and hold on it, see many of the previous pages, so you can go back more than one page per click.
View 5 RepliesI was running Windows 7 and upgraded to Windows 10. I lost no data or programs or pictures, etc. Windows 10 worked fine for about a month and then developed a "restart required" loop. After several attempts I tried the Recovery option, thinking it would take me back to a restore point as in Windows 7. Instead it took me back to Windows 7 and all data and programs (other than the Windows 7 default programs) are gone. How can I get back to either 7 with my data and programs or 10 with my data and programs?

I have an issue with the "Documents" location.
As I don't like the "big brother is watching you" spect of the automatically sinc with OneDrive and as I get a "Pro" version, I don't want to use OneDrive anymore (except the pro version for some few folders).
So I started to organise my documents in the folder: C:/Users/myname/Documents
But I can't put it in the "Quick Access" as there is already the Documents which are located in C:/Users/myname/OneDrive but which is empty for me...
I also hardly find my documents when I download a document, as the OneDrive folder is "dominant".
Some screens to explain my issue...
So I would like to "replace" the "Documents" OneDrive Folder shortcut by my "true" Documents Folder.
Is it possible ?
I can't find My Documents in Windows 10. Where is it located now on my PC?
