Shutting Down Message Is Continually On Screen
Feb 10, 2016The "shutting down" message is continually on screen so I'm unable to do anything. Turning the power off and on just returns me to the same shutting down message.

Mar 3, 2016I ahve a desktop running windows 10. This last week I've been running into shutdowns that never stop. The blue screen that says "windows is shutting down" never goes away. In the end I'm forced to hold the power button to kill my pc (which I hate).

Feb 23, 2016I have a freshly upgraded laptop (8.1 > 10) which worked fine until now. When I try to shut down the PC, it just hangs at the blue shutting down screen and the circle keeps on spinning.
I have to hard power off the laptop by holding down the off button, but that isn't going to do the laptop any good.
What can I do to fix this? Is there anywhere that will tell me what happens when shutting down?

I have the same Problem here with my gigabyte z97 hd3 v2 motherboard in my PC. I had this problem one time before, then I tested everything 'literately everything' and I was done with it after a week of testing. I did put everything together and turned it on.... It Worked ! but how ??? I don't know.

Updates :: Start Up Screen Frozen After Install - Laptop Is Not Shutting Down Anymore
Aug 15, 2015I've a sony laptop cum tablet (ultra book) with intel core i7 processor. I updated to Windows 10 today (previous version Pro windows 8). The install was successful but after the install my start up screen started flickering. I shut down and restarted the laptop and now the opening screen is frozen at the log in page which says- 'fast access, face recognition'. The camera is also not working to recognize the face. I'm also not able to log in manually. (I used to have face recognition mode with pro windows 8)
The laptop is not shutting down any more and don't accept alt+cont+delete command.

Updates Stuck At 75% With Circle Continually Turning
Nov 16, 2015i uploaded windows 10 and it was doing fine for a day or two, then it started updates, stuck at 75% with the update circle continually turning. Only thing it will let me do is restart with ctrl alt del command. Other than that it's just a screen with the update circle.

Oct 12, 2015When I scroll to make my selection in a drop-down menu, the menu just disappears before I get a chance to select an option from the menu.
It happens over and over, even when I do my best to be quick in my selection. It is very frustrating when filling out forms, especially when unable to manually type selection in the box.
Don't know if it is related or not, but also having frustrations with keyboard... While typing, letters will not show when I type them. I must constantly be reading as I type to make sure each letter appears. Sometimes must hit the key 3-5 times before it appears.
I have a feeling this is not related to Windows 10... just thought I'd mention it too. Took me forever to type this!
Installation :: Black Screen With Error Message
Jul 29, 2015Just installed Win10 on a Win7 machine. Started it up and walked away.
Came back 3hrs later and all that was on the screen was this message:
Cannot Display this Video Mode. Optimum Resolution 1280 x 1024 60Hz
I can restart the machine and the normal Dell start up stuff happens. The Win10 logo comes up and then the screen goes black with the above message. No cursor. No nothing.
I cant even get the monitor settings to function once the black screen appears.
I can get into the monitor settings during boot up but cant make any changes before the black screen comes up.
Updates :: Message On Screen Keeps Coming Back

I have recently set my PC from 8.1 to the free 10 upgrade offer.
Everything's fine, 'Except' down in the bottom right hand corner a message keeps coming up.... "Activate Windows. Go to settings to activate Windows."
I have gone to settings now, 5 times, & through the whole upgrade procedure 5 times too, including several system restores. Each time I get an on-screen message telling me everything's done, 10 is now fired up & running etc. The 'Activate' message disappears, everything's fine for a week or 2, then I switch the PC on & the message has come back again.

Every time I boot my computer up, I am greeted with the login screen and my photo, with the message below it, "We are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later." And it's asking for my password, not my pin. For some reason, I see my username twice on the lower left corner. One is the password log-in, the other is the pin. I can successfully log in with either. I just want to know, what is with the error message? I've got a connection, so I can't figure out why.

Dec 22, 2015I just built a new computer and have been randomly getting this error message from time to time...and sometimes have trouble even getting the computer back to the Desktop without hitting the blue screen again....if I'm on the desktop and it happens it usually says (atikmdag.sys) at the end...sounds like a graphics card issue, however I have the latest drivers for the card (non beta)...when attempting a restart to fix and it hits blue screen right after that bit at the end is not there...here are comp. specs
Motherboard - MSI 760GMA-P34 (FX)
CPU - AMD 8320E
GPU - ASUS R7 360
RAM - Avexir Blitz 1.1 - 16gb 1866mhz (dual channel)
HDD - WD 1tb blue
Power - Corsair CX600M
OS - Windows 10 Home
I have some possible theories: The RAM may be causing issues...Avexir does not use the more common Samsung chips I don't think and has (Intel optimized) all over the packaging...I will try swapping G-Skill RAM from another comp soon to test this
Also I didn't realize at the time but the motherboard has no drivers from MSI past windows 7...could that be causing issues?...
And of course there's that ending on some of the blue screens indicating a graphics car issue...could the latest drivers for Windows 10 on a GPU be creating issues on a board with no Windows 10 drivers?
Updates :: Remove Important Update Message From Windows 8.1 Boot Screen
Sep 13, 2015I have uninstalled KB3035583 which has removed the windows 10 script from my taskbar, however I am still getting a message that there is an important update when I boot up to the initial Windows 8.1 screen before my login. On checking what important updates are available, it is only the Windows 10, KB3035583 that it is obviously trying to get me to update again.
After 2 weeks of failure on updating to Windows 10, I have decided to stay with 8.1. I now want to remove the advice to install importantant updates, that pertain to Windows 10, but still showing those for my Windows 8.1 system. At this point, when getting this message, I don't know if it is still just for Windows 10, or if new updates are available for my 8.1?

No sound will play from any sources. Second, if I try to play a video, it will play very slowly and with a lot of stuttering.

Sep 2, 2015I have a Sabertooth 990FX motherboard. This isn't the first time I've installed Windows 10 on this computer (I was having issues with a corrupted operating system before, so I've reinstalled Windows several times). Basically, I managed to get Windows 10 to install successfully with no corruption issues. I went into the BIOS to check some sleep settings since a new problem is that my computer won't sleep since Windows 10 was installed, and while I was in there, I enabled a USB 3.0 fast charging feature and since then, every other time that I boot the computer, it shuts off a few seconds after the Windows logo displays, but before the loading circle even shows up.
Then I turn the computer back on again manually and it boots. But after I shut it down and the next time I try to boot it, it will do the same thing and shut off and then I will have to turn it on again manually and it will work. I went back and changed the settings back to their defaults, even flashed the BIOS to the latest version and the problem hasn't resolved. Is it possible the motherboard is now dead because I changed a simple setting? I get no error messages, no warnings, nothing when the computer boots successfully.

Sep 11, 2015I have two asus m4a78lt m le pc , after installing windows 10 they both will shut down just when the windows 10 window shows, If i press the restart power button again straight away they will start as normal, I have changed cmos batteries and changed a few settings in bios, seems windows ten is setting the system up for a restart every time.
