Snap Box Follows Cursor
Nov 4, 2015
I am pretty sure this is a Dell specific thing on this computer. When ever I drag a window I get this little blue box that if I drag any windows into it it will snap it to a side or make it full screen. I think it is Dell specific because it continues to happen even when I disable snap altogether.

Windows 10 is definitely the best desktop OS ever. I found one improved feature really annoying when you work with a small screen. The advanced aero-snap function to automatically re-size four windows into 2x2 arrangement.
However, since windows 7, I get used to use 2x1 snap on my laptop. So, is there any way to disable the 2x2 snap and turn it back to 2x1 snap no matter you snap to a corner or an edge of the desktop?

Windows 10. If I grab a window to move it there is a popup overlay that appears near where I've clicked which seems to intend to make it easy to snap to the sides of the monitor. Usually I don't want to snap a window I'm dragging to one of these areas and usually this popup is where I want to drag the window and is getting in the way and preventing me from positioning windows where I want.
I've attempted to turn off "snap" or "aerosnap" in the System>Multitasking area, however if I turn off snap completely it prevents the shortcut keys (windows/arrow keys) from working correctly which I use a lot. If I disable snap completely it still does not disable this overlay popup as per the image.

I'm trying to adjust my snap/multitasking settings to keep all of the snap settings in Windows 10 except for the ones that try to snap windows to the side of one monitor when I try to drag it to the other monitor. Is there any way to disable the snapping between the two monitors while still keeping the snap settings of dragging windows to the opposite sides/top of the screen?

Just got Windows 10 upgraded (won't go into the insanity that involved). So far it works, nothing to write home about but it runs......
I've largely figured out how to get adequate colors for pieces of windows and such, but:
I'm on large monitors and the icons in the taskbar are miniscule. And YES, they are NOT set to use SMALL icons... I'm looking for a way to get LARGER icons WITHOUT reducing resolution or doing anything else to the displays...
Aero snap is marginally useful, but NOT when you're using multiple monitors. HOW do I make aero snap limit itself to ONE monitor? I DON'T want it to pull windows that are on monitor two onto monitor 1 when I snap a window. I JUST want it to work with the windows on the monitor I snap a window on.
So, how do I customize these couple basic things so Windows 10 is a bit more productive?

I have a Toshiba Satellite and I'm running windows 10. I've tried pressing F5 and FN+F5 but nothing happens. I've had a look on various forums and all the advice seems to start with "go here", "go to this menu" etc but how to go anywhere without a mouse.

My problem is that sometimes (around once or twice a day), I get my laptop stucked suddenly. The cursor does not move. The keyboard also does not work (even by trying to turn CAPS lock on and off, I don't see the light on keyboard changing]. So I have to do forced restart. Before having windows 10, I was using Windows 7 and it was fine. Important note is that I had same problem with Windows 8 so that I returned back to 7.

I cant find a fix to my computer with my Nvidia graphics card here's what happened.
- Windows 8.1 update to windows 10 happens.
- Successful upgrade so i start up games to see changes into fps.
- Graphics card is not working so i uninstall them and try to reinstalled them again but to no avail ( should have restarted my PC i know).
- Get message to start restart on safe mode and so i do so.
- Suddenly I receive a black screen to which after many attempts to fix it via online including the installation media flash drive and the start+P key bind whatever thing.
I am not able to play my games, talk to my family and study for my ISU for my school which i need now because the work is inside! I need to fix this but am running out of options.
Also i wouldn't say am bad with computers I do know how to get to control panel, run commands on cmd, etc. But some detailed course of action explaining what do would useful.
Any link on how to downgrade to windows 8.1 or even 7 would be useful but not necessary, don't want my computer updating something I don't know.

Since yesterday's Windows 10 download I notice that my laptop screen has a life of its own, at times, with the cursor in erratic motion or stationary. The page zooms in larger, magically and unexpectedly, the scroll bar has a life of its own: the page moves up or down. In the earlier used Windows 8.1 version I had access to a page that allows me to delete programs. In this newer version it seems much harder to get rid of the ones that are a nuisance to me.

After Windows 10 installation, my cursor recycles for a split second every couple of seconds, as if it's attempting to install something, causing missed keystrokes, whether in Edge, Explorer, Word, Excel ...anything. If it appears to settle down, I just have to move the cursor and then I see the cursor recycle again. How to I get rid of this instability? It's like type-ahead back in the 1980's, even worse with all the missed keystrokes. Makes this very hard to use. Here's what it looks like:

Earlier on my Win 10 computer I did a command prompt, sfc scannow. So I waited for the scan which fixed a problem/corrupt file.
Afterwards it said computer needed restarting so I did just that, but after the windows logo the screen just stays black with the cursor showing.
Ctrl alt del to bring up task manager etc does nothing at all. Tried simply restarting pc again but it's the same every time.
Solved - On a different computer I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO file and burned on to a blank DVD.
I got into the BIOS to change the boot order to CD/DVD first, then inserted the dvd. (you DO get the option to keep or delete your files) The Repair option didn't work, but using a Restore Point did. My files-documents, pictures etc WERE kept.

So my computer started running a bit slower then it should be, at the point where my computer to open would take half a min, so i did fresh install. So i left installation overnight, i wake up in the morning and it say "Hi there" installation menu where you choose Country, language, keyboard layout and timezone, but it's totally froze, i can not see mouse cursor or use my keyboard, if my monitor goes to sleep i can't turn it on back. I did read that it's problem with drivers not installed. I've tried restarting pc few times. Is it true that problem is with drivers not installed correctly or at all?

I've been having some issues to get Windows 10 installed. I've got an ASUS ROG G20AJ desktop computer running an i7 processor and a GTX 760 graphics card. I got my Windows 10 update and everything went fine, and the installation process began. The problem is, when it gets to the 32 % of"Installating drivers and features", the screen goes black and I can only see the cursor. The installation process won't complete and it's been like 8 hours now. What should I do??
