Some Apps Not Showing In Notifications
Sep 13, 2015I have just noticed, on a fresh install of Windows 10 on my tablet, that the Mail and Calendar (and probably more, the list is a lot shorter than on my main PC) are not in the list.

View 1 RepliesI am not getting some notifications on Windows 10. For example, when I plug in my flash drive, there should be a popup dialog like in prior Windows asking how I'd like to use it (i.e. open folder to show files). But that doesn't appear in Windows 10.
However, when I opened the action center notifications icon in the task bar, I saw that the notification for my flash drive actually did appear there. But why did it not appear on the screen? I have app notifications enabled in the settings menu.
Also, very annoying is that when I then click on the notification in the action center, the notifications just disappears instead of allowing me to actually do what I want with it which is "tap to choose what happens with removable drives".
I have the following in Notifications
I have uninstalled Screenshot Captor, I have run CCleaner over the Registry, I removed all traces of Screenshot Captor from the registry and I've rebooted - yet the Notification list still has those nine entries in for Screenshot Captor How can I get rid if them ?
I no longer need Screenshot Captor because Win 10's built facilities are adequate, for me at least.
MS have never gotten the system tray/notification area functioning properly since... forever
I have one app that shows up in my notification screen twice. This program is completely removed from my computer. Have rebooted 3 times, checked my hard drive for remaining files, and removed them. Still shows up under the notification windows, with the option to turn off or on still their.
View 9 RepliesEver since I updated to windows 10 mobile build 10572, live tiles doesn't seems to be working for most of the apps. I thought a hard reset may resolve this issues but even after that the problems still persist.
View 1 RepliesEvery 2 or 3 days, I got a notification telling me to turn off apps that reduce performance, etc. How can I turn this off for good? In prior windows version you could tell the system to turn off specific notifications. Where do you do it in Windows 10? I know how to go into settings and check notifications. But I don't see anything particular related to that.
View 9 RepliesGot mine installed today and went rather smooth. No major problems but one tiny annoying issue. We did the upgrade on 4 machines and 3 don't have this problem. I want to add mail and cal to my lock screen and it is not a option on my machine. (PRO others are home) After a couple reboots I got mail to show in the System->Notifications&Actions section but it wasn't for a while and CAL still is not.Did some searching but everything returns "missing my get windows 10 icon"
View 1 RepliesEvery time that I start up my laptop and load up my desktop, Compatibility Assistant gives me the exact same reminders every time. What do I need to do to stop this constant notification every time that I start up my system?

So yesterday I was just watching some videos on youtube and then the screen flashed for a second and started everything started acting up. I restarted my computer and since then, the start menu, notifications and all apps like the xbox app and store app no longer work. I did Recovery hoping it would fix everything but didn't. What can i do?
View 2 RepliesI'am unable to switch on the apps-notification switch in action center. The switch is fade out.
I'am not aware if this worked before, I just run Windows 10 for 2 days
I have had Windows 10 installed for about 4 months now and things have been going decent. A couple of days ago my system received a Windows 10 update that took about 2 hours and looked like it was installing Windows all over again (but it wasn't) and once this happened I couldn't find the Microsoft Edge application and the start button would not work at all. After doing a system restore to a date prior to the update things are back to "normal" except for this one problem.Currently my start menu does not show any Recently Used or Favorite Apps in it as shown below. If I select the All apps button it also shows nothing:
I made sure that all of the settings in order to see recently used apps and all my apps are correct as below are my settings:I have tried a couple of solutions that handled Cortana not searching for programs or "some" apps were missing from all apps but I have yet to find a solution to when absolutely no apps are showing in the start menu. I know the applications still exist on my machine as I use Firefox and Microsoft Word and Outlook plus many more apps but they aren't showing up at all. I am also under a local account instead of my Microsoft account and both have this problem.
I have apps installed from the Microsoft store on my laptop but they don't show up on the start menu to be able to pin to the start menu. They also don't show up under the "All Apps" area. Is there a way to force apps to show up so that I can pin them to the start menu?
Twice now I've had pinned apps disappear from my start menu - for example, I pinned a game & the notepad to the start menu. Then when going back to the start menu later, they're gone. I have repinned them in a different spot on the start menu & they seem to be staying now - is this normal?
I was just checking out the features of windows 10 when i came across the apps-on-the-lock screen feature (in Personalization settings). I tried setting up weather app, calendar and alarm app but NONE of them are showing up on the Lockscreen. Is it because Windows 10 is still being 'built-up' or is this a bug?
View 8 RepliesI can access the lock screen settings and I can see all available apps and have set a detailed status app and a couple of less detailed ones. However, when I actually get to the lock screen after having set the apps to appear, there is nothing but the time and date and WiFi in bottom-right corner.
Could this be because I am logging in locally rather than using a MS account?
I recently downloaded the google app from the windows store. I would like to pin it to start, but strangely it doesn't show up in the all apps menu. The only way that I have found to open it is by searching for it in the store and opening it from there. When I do open it from the store, it doesn't show up in my task bar. Also when I open it, it doesn't show when I swipe from the left edge on my surface pro 4. I am also unable to uninstall and reinstall since the I cant do so from the windows store and I am unable to find the app anywhere else.
View 3 RepliesAlso I cant access the Universal Applications folder, the apps seems to be working fine tho but the folder is in-accessible.
View 1 RepliesWhat i mean is when i move the mouse cursor over an app window in taskbar if it's a game in the passed i saw the game running/playing in the small window of the app or if it's a program. Now i need to click on it and enter to it to see what is going on with it.
Now the problem is only with battlefield bad company 2 when the game is running in the background instead clicking on it's icon to enter it and see what is going i want that when i move the mouse cursor over it it should show me in the small window the game. But instead i see only white small window.
As per the image below - why are many of my apps not showing their icons? There's not options to change them and I've tried pinning the original .exe and shortcuts to the app but there is no difference.
View 4 RepliesI have found a few threads on here and other sites to try and fix it, but no such luck. I am not hitting that old 512 app limit, as I only have 242 installed:
PS C:WINDOWSsystem32> Get-StartApps | measure
Count : 242
Average :
Sum :
Maximum :
Minimum :
Property :
I also have tried rebuilding index, and removed everything and set to default. This does still include my start menu icons, which have apps. Any time I search though, NO app is found.
I had an issue with Firefox where if I clicked the Taskbar icon, the program would not show on the desktop. HOWEVER, if you hover over the icon, it showed what it would look like if it were expanded. I restarted it in safe mode and got it to work again.
Just now WORD is doing the same thing. I had 3 WORD windows open and then they stopped showing at some point. However, they appear if I hover over the icon (set to "always combine, hide labels" in taskbar). I can see that they are in the same state that I left them, but they won't show on the desktop if I click them.
So right now, WORD won't open at all, even though the icon thinks it is open. This is really a problem since I need to finish some work with WORD ASAP.
I have installed Aome hdd manager on my W10 PC and laptop. On the PCs it appears in the start menu and also as an icon in the start menu.
But on the laptop it is not showing, have uninstalled and reinstalled and created a shortcut from the installed .exe file then chose pin to start menu, but still nothing ...
Had an Update around Midnight last night and this Morning, I found Cortana has disappeared together with my reminders and no Microphone Symbol showing.
View 9 RepliesOnly way to launch them is searching for them in app store and tapping open. Have latest version of windows 10 on my surface pro 4.
View 2 RepliesSo today, as it is all over Windowscentral, some of the MS core apps and VLC for Windows 10 got their updates. However, they are stuck at 0% and showing no signs of progress. I've tried cancelling them all, rebooting and download on at a time but it was no use.
View 21 Repliesmy cd drive icon was showing and working then stopped showing up. I did as much research as I could and purchased AVG driver updater and it worked for a few days and won't work again.
View 1 RepliesNo alerts, sounds or banners especially with email. I get nuthin'. I think I got one banner from an email back on Jul 29 but after that zilch. Yes, I have my settings configured properly.
I do get Windows update notices in the Action Center and maybe a News Alert on occasion.
