I have windows 10 home edition and everytime I set spotlight from the personalization settings it does not show up on the screen when I log in ...I ve tried it many times ...any fix for this ?

View 4 RepliesOn my Surface 3 I've been getting really stunning lock screen photos as part of Windows Spotlight. Much nicer than anything from the Bing photos. I wanted to add that to my desktop but I don't seem to get that choice there in lockscreen settings.Is there a trick to enabling this or it is a Surface 3 feature?
View 11 RepliesI got a new laptop and installed the Facebook app from the Windows Store and it asked me if i wanted to sync my Facebook profile picture and cover photo as the user photo and lock screen picture. I didn't mean to click yes as my cover photo at the time was a stupid one. I've tried uninstalling the Facebook app to make the lock screen picture go away and used the control panel to manually change back to Windows Spotlight. But it still does not change. Whenever i restart my laptop the stupid picture of Ainsley Harriot comes up before the logon screen, but when i lock my laptop it shows the Spotlight. It's weird. I'm new to Windows 10 so i'm unsure what the issue is here.
View 1 RepliesI am currently up to date with all updates for my legal copy of windows 10 pro, I have choosen the windows spotlight feature for my lock screen, however it never activates, I still just get the microsoft glowing blue window screen, any thoughts?
also right below the options for lock screen are options to choose apps for detailed status and apps for quick status, I have also never seen these work anywhere
Windows spotlight under the lock screen settings set a picture for me that I'd like to make permanent. Unfortunately it will change when the new windows spotlight picture is sent out. What is the save location of this image file so I can set it as my permanent lock screen picture?
View 9 RepliesI like the Windows 10 "Spotlight" with its custom photos each day. They really do a great job selecting beautiful photos. However, I've noticed random Store ads popping up, saying things like, "See what's free" or "Explore a marketplace of apps..."
I'd love to disable these ads, while keeping the Spotlight feature of daily photos.
I have already adjusted privacy settings like turning off "Let apps use my advertising ID" and many other Privacy settings. It doesn't seem to affect those lock screen ads. How those can be disabled?
Note I am NOT asking to disable the lock screen (I know already there are ways to do this). I'm asking if there is a way to disable the little text ads that appear on top of the Spotlight images.
It seems like my Lock Screen wallpaper is stuck on "Windows Spotlight". When I try to change to "Picture" or "Slideshow" in settings nothing happens, and when i choose "Slideshow" and then "Windows Spotlight" the preview turns grey with the loading indicator and nothing more happens.
Would really like to be able to choose my own lock screen wallpaper, though Spotlight is a pretty cool feature.
When I boot up my computer (to windows 10). It will do the Asus splash screen then instead of going straight to windows if does this black screen with the kinda terminal thing (with no writing/text) then goes on to windows. Does this affect my computer?

With Windows 8, my laptop would display a lock screen everytime I turn the computer on, whether it was from sleep or from being shut down. However, immediately after upgrading, my laptop began to skip the lock screen step. Is there a way to turn it back on?
View 1 RepliesI can't figure why I get the generic gray circle with the person on it on my welcome screen when my computer starts up. My account shows my picture as a gold fish. My computer was set to auto login before I made the switch from windows 8.1 and upgraded to 10 and has been logging in with out my entering password since then just like the way I want it.
View 1 RepliesI don't know if I changed a setting or what but I can't get Windows to show me the Lock Screen. I have it like this. I put it in Slideshow with a custom folder where I keep all my wallpapers. is a slideshow lockscreen settings in one side, a normal savescreen setting in another. If I had to set my screen to turn off after a certain time or not. I just want the frickin lockscreen to start whenever, let's say, 30 min have passed. Only thing I get it's my screen turned off.

View 1 RepliesJust installed Windows 10 on my primary laptop and the lock screen is a solid blue (if I change my theme color, the lock screen changes too). However, I have Windows Spotlight turned on. I've tried setting a static picture or slideshow as the background. I also confirmed that the files needed for Windows Spotlight are indeed downloaded onto my computer. It just refuses to change.It's worth noting that on my secondary computer with Windows Insider builds, I have, and have been having, the same problem.
View 9 RepliesToday I installed Windows 10 TP on my old HP Touchsmart tm2 laptop. First it all went well, I was able to log in and search for updates (iso is the first build). But after a few minutes the screen went of for about 3 seconds (black) and came on again only to turn dark again, come back and turn dark again. There it stopped. It's not totally dark, back lighting is still on I think.
It actually felt like the laptop tried to switch to an external monitor 3 times until it finally managed to find one. But there is no external monitor connected! I tried to restart the pc several times but luck. I only get to the windows logo, after that I get a dark screen instead of the login screen. I also tried to actually connect an external monitor via VGA but it shows the same dark on the monitor.
I reinstalled Windows 10 TP and it all went the same way again. When I tried to start in safe mode, I was able to login but couldn't open any apps/programs, not even the start menu. Ctrl+Shift+Esc finally worked and I could then run explorer.exe and get to the control panel. How I can get this laptop to work properly.
I updated a few machines from 10240 to 10586 (upgrade).
I usually like to have my desktop icons on the toolbar instead of the screen (like to see full theme).
Now the funny thing is that if I decide to show desktop on toolbar sometimes removable drives and even all hard drives will show on desktop toolbar but not on screen.
Here is a pic showing that removable drive is not on desktop.
Now look. If I set desktop to toolbar. Removable drive is there. (Orange circle around it) Some users see all their drives (Fixed and removable) on desktop toolbar but not on screen.
When I start up my computer the lock screen shows 2 accounts. One has just my name, which I am trying to remove because it default tries to log into. The second is my microsoft @live account which Ive used from day one. When I go into accounts it shows I have 1 account on this computer, its the one I use @live to sign in. Really confusing and Im not sure that to do.
View 5 RepliesSo I upgraded to Windows 10 and I was using it and shut down my computer. Now my computer turns on but won't load anything. It shows the windows loading screen for about 5 seconds and then goes blank and sits that way till I turn it off and restart.

View 9 RepliesI regularly use the 24 hour time format for all of my systems. Its not a major issue I have now with Win10, but its annoying a bit.
Before I logon to Windows 10, the default lock screen theme has the time in 12 hour format instead of the 24 hour format.
In Windows, I set everything in 24 hour time. Period. I just don't like 12 hour time.
However, when I sign out or just by locking my screen, it does show the time in 24 hour format.
But when I reboot my system it shows the time in 12 hour format.
I'm trying to get windows spotlight to work on windows 10 pro but it's not working and I really want this feature.

View 2 RepliesWhen I lock my new Windows 10 home edition 64bit laptop it remains on the Sky/red plane wing, I don't even have the 'love/hate this photo' option, So far I have set Bing as default search engine, cleared out the folder where the spotlight photos are stored, changed the setting to picture then back to spotlight.
