as the tiltle says, I can't launch start menu or action center anymore. I tried some solutions for an older, Insider build that was having the same issue but no luck. It's been a week since I can't get it to work.
I've noticed that periodically, whatever program that powers the Action Center, the Start Menu, and some of the icons in tht Notification Area locks up and I don't know how to restart it.
I won't be doing anything of note at at the time and all of a sudden, all of the above stops. Restarting explorer doesn't do it. Forcing into and out of tablet mode doesn't do it either.
how can i use the Note quick action in the action center ?when i click it it says that i must install a app for that, i click ok but the store does not open.I manually installed a note app but it still shows the same message.
I have the icon for new notifications but when I choose to ''Open Action Center'' nothing happens, also the WIN+A keys do not open it either. What the matter is? I daily see the icon while hovering over with the mouse indicate that there are 'New Notifications''.
All of a sudden I am getting stock market notifications on my action center. Where is that coming from and how do I change the action center settings to stop this?
I've tried everything short of resetting my pc to get my action center icon on my taskbar to function normally. Right now it will turn white like a new notification is available, but when I click on it nothing happens. Also..when I press the Ctrl + A keys, nothing happens. This is occurring on my ASUS T100TA touchscreen transformer book. I've even added the regsistry edit that Brink has posted in the tutorial section.
So My computer is basically behaving as if quiet hours mode is activated, but quiet hours are NOT activated.
For example, if I get an email or plug in a new device, the only thing that happens is the icon for action center goes from clear to white.
This is only happening on my main user account, it is not happening on my admin account. I suspect that if I made a new account, the problem would not be present there either.
So because this problem only exists in one user account and not the other, it must be some system setting that was flipped for one account and not the other. But I have searched high and low for any notification settings and they all seem correct.
i am using Windows 10 Pro since release as an upgrade from Windows 7 Prof., and most things including the new action center worked fine. But since three days now the action center is totally empty, shows only the "no new notifications"-message. All of my settings are still correct, my accounts in Mail App e.g. are still active (and showing my new mails if i open it), the action center settings to show banner+sound for Apps and programs are all ON, and every single piece of software i am using is working as intended, except the action center
I don't really know what's suddenly wrong? I did not install any new software or made a driver update. The only thing last days was an automatic update for Windows Defender, but i don't think that's causing the issue.
how i can get the action center back to work? Perhaps soem Windows services aren't running but i don't know which one could be responsible for the noticifations. I checked the installation with "sfc /scannow", no error. Would be nice to get the action center back, it's very annyoing if i need to have every program always open.
my problem is that the "action center" shows "no entry symbol" ..and "show app notification" is greyed out (unable to swicth on or off)..is there any chance to fix them.. thxby the way i did follow tutorial from this link Action Center - Enable or Disable in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums "the no entry symbol" still there..
how to remap my menu button on my keyboard to show the Action Center introduced in Windows 10. I found nice programs that would work IF i had a desktop shortcut that toggles the Action Center. Unfourtunatly all I found is this but it's for the old-fashioned Action Center. Is it even possible? Knowing Windows nature, it should be...
Having issues with Action Center since yesterday. Two things can happen 1) will not open when clicked, or 2) will open, briefly, for one or two seconds, and will close itself, while not allowing any click on it.
The Bluetooth icon is on in my Action Center but my computer does not have Bluetooth. This is interfering with my Wi-Fi speed. How do I turn off the icon when I do not even have Bluetooth capability on my computer?
My primary problem is that the Action Center opens at every second click. I think the problem migth be with some touchpad settings, but I haven't been able to identify them.
The touchpad started acting all weird all of a sudden. I have tried to restart the pc of course. That didn't work. I also ran a virus check, but at least nothing was identified. I have also tried to update the touchpad driver with no improvement.
Besides the Action Center appearing all the time, the touchpad stopped responding to taps (the way I usually click). I was able to borrow an external mouse. I had no problems with the mouse, but the problems remained with the touchpad. After disabling the touchpad and using the mouse for a while, the problems disappeared. However, there was still some weird behavior with the touchpad (some settings had changed, for example ClickLock had been turned on). The touchpad does not work the way the settings indicate in Settings > Devices > Mouse and touchpad > Additional mouse options > (Dell Touchpad >) Click to change DellTouchpad Settings.
Now the problems from before borrowing the mouse have reappeared, and I can't get access to a mouse at the moment.
The action center informed me that CCleaner was not compatible and was removed. Every time the PC is booted, it repeats that message. I have tried removing every trace of CCleaner I can find but it still repeats the message at boot.
I don't want to turn off notifications, only stop it from telling me CCleaner was removed!
Since the Windows 10 upgrade I keep getting a "Reconnect your Drive" alert in the action center. "Your file history drive has been disconnected for too long". What does this mean?
I have windows 10 pro and in my notifications and action center, airplane mode is in blue and wont let me turn it off, I'm using a desktop and not a laptop anyway to fix this or is this normal?
Also in the notification and action center, the wifi tab is greyed out.
Is it possible to adjust the vertical length of Action Center? It's hard to reach the 'Clear all' option in a large screen, I hope it can be adjusted to half of the screen.
But that will completely disable Action Center and its button will become gray, not possible to change its state. I don't wanna disable it, just wanna turn it off, like we do manually in: Settings > System > Notifications & Actions > Turn system icons on or off
For this one, I didn't find a registry key, also the following article does not work for Windows 10: System Icons - Enable or Disable - Windows 7 Forums
just turn it off via registry without disabling and locking down the Action Center button.
I just got this problem when i woke up this morning. The but is that Cortana, action center and most of the toolbar don't work. Ive tried to use the windows key but that did not work. Ive looked around and have tried a few ways to fix it but none have worked. I am worried if I will have to revert again. Last time I went back to windows 7 it crashed and I had no O.S and i had to go find the disk and had to reinstall.
If I click the Search icon on the taskbar and proceed to type something, the search results show up just fine, but the second I move my mouse to click on one of them, the whole window closes. This effectively makes searching impossible. If I click the Action Center icon in the notification area, it comes up (but on the wrong monitor -- I have my taskbar at the top of my right monitor and the Action Center comes up on the right side of the left monitor) but the same issue from the Search window happens - the second I move my mouse away from the taskbar to actually interact with the Action Center, it disappears.
Moving the taskbar to the "traditional" place (bottom of the left monitor) gives me the exact same results. I wonder if this has something to do with my mouse settings in some way. In Windows 7 I had it so hovering the mouse over a window for a second would bring that window to the front without having to click.
I can no longer use Search/Cortana as the Windows icon or Windows key are unresponsive and there is no way to open Search the web and Windows. Also, can no longer open Action Center.
Everything was working fine after upgrade from Windows 7 for awhile, then the above happened. (except for Action Center). After a clean install, things went well for awhile, and then started having the same problems again.
After last up date my volume icon said it was not working , I went to trouble shooter it said it was fixed nd to restart my computer. When it restarted the volume icon was gone , the volume works but the icon s gone.
I went to a wed site they said to trying below go to system in action center

How do I get the volume icon back on my task bar ?
Ive been getting about one or two blue screens over the last two or three days. I read there was a cumulative update to pc windows 10. I dont know what changed but icons and symbols in the action center are not being graphically rendered on the desktop. I cannot see the edge icon on the task tray, but there is a space for it and there's an app there I can click on. What's going on?
