Stop Logging A Specific Event Error - 7031

Nov 1, 2015

I want to stop error code 7031 from showing up in the event viewer log in win 10 (since its a redundant code that means nothing anyway), I do not mean just filtering it unless that is all that can be done, I want it gone.

How To Fix Event ID 7031

Aug 6, 2015

The only constant errors I get when I reboot are these four, that all share the same ID of 7031.

The Contact Data_Session2 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 10000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

The Sync Host_Session2 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 10000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

The User Data Access_Session2 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 10000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

The User Data Storage_Session2 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 10000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

Is there anyway to fix these, or better just leaving them be?

Drivers/Hardware :: Stop Specific Driver Update

Aug 3, 2015

I just updated my laptop to Windows 10 and I'm having an issue with the driver for my fingerprint reader. Windows 10 keeps installing the latest driver software for it rather then the version that I manually installed. The problem with the newest driver is that it disables finger print sign in and windows hello. I had the same issue in Windows 8 but I was able to just go into Windows Update and disable the update, with Windows 10 I can't do that.

Find Not Scanning In Registry - Event Error

Nov 22, 2015

This is the event error after attempting to do a regular 'FIND' within the Registry. Before the Fall upgrade installed via .iso on 11/20/2015 this Find worked.

The Nirsoft Registry Scan will scan and find. I did not attempt to link to the registry from that Nirsoft tool

The last software installed was a Nirsoft My Event Viewer as a portable app 11/21/15.It had errors via ntoskrnl.exe when executed. Microsoft apps were updated automatically 11/21/15(Photos, Messaging)

These are the only changes since the fall upgrade Win10-1511

Would this be corrected by a sfc /scannow?

Performance :: Persistent Event Viewer Error

Nov 30, 2015

I'm getting the following event viewer error every 15-30 minutes whenever a non-admin account is logged in.The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

{D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160}

I've tracked the AppID down to RuntimeBroker. I've found a few posts mentioning a similar error for this application under windows 8, and suggesting changing the security settings as described. When I try to do this though, all the settings for RuntimeBroker are disabled, and cannot be customised. I've tried launch the admin tool as administrator, but it's still locked down.

BSOD :: Critical Error Event ID 41 After Every Shutdown And Bootup

Aug 29, 2015

Prior to upgrading to Windows 10, my system was running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. When running my previous OS (WIN 7) I rarely had errors listed in Event Viewer. Now after upgrading to Windows 10, I get errors/warnings I never used to get under Windows 7.

The error is of the "Critical" level in Event Viewer.

After doing a normal shutdown, and then booting my system, I check Event Viewer and always find the following critical error:

"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

---------------------- START: Event Viewer XML error text ---------------------

- <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event">
- <System>
<Provider Name="Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power" Guid="{331C3B3A-2005-44C2-AC5E-77220C37D6B4}" />
<EventID>41</EventID>
<Version>3</Version>

[Code] ....

I never used to get this error after doing a normal shutdown (prior to upgrade to Windows 10, when I was on Windows 7). Now it happens all the time. Why this error is occurring after doing a normal shutdown followed by a boot?

I suspect it's a glitch with the first production release of Windows 10, but I have no proof of that. My system runs fine, yet I get the above error (and a number of other errors) since I upgraded to Windows 10.

Continuous Error In Event Viewer - Server Did Not Register With DCOM Within Required Timeout

Aug 23, 2015

I have an SP3 running Windows 10. Finding this continuous error in the event viewer?

DistributedCOM
Event ID 10010
The server {7006698D-2974-4091-A424-85DD0B909E23} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

I looked up the ID in the registry and came up with a REG_SZ, REG_DWORD, and REG_BINARY. One of the descriptions said "Out of proc server to enable Insider Hub and Feedback App scenarios to be reached from inside of its appcontainer".

EventID 7031 Errors - Service Terminated Unexpectedly

Jul 11, 2015

I have cleaned up most of my errors but these four keep being produced at shutdown in the System log.

Event Id 7031 service terminated unexpectedly.

User Data Access_Session2
User Data Storage_Session1
Contact Data_Session1

What to do to stop them? OK, they don't seem to be doing any harm but it is nice to keep a tidy ship!

I got rid of a long list of DCOM errors relating to the Runtime Broker CLSID. That was satisfying!

Can Stop Dreaded Task Bar Error From Recurring?

Dec 17, 2015

Is there anything that can stop the dreaded Windows 10 Task Bar error from recurring? The task bars on both of our lap tops have randomly seized on several occasions. This has included the Start button and all Microsoft Apps pinned on the task bar losing functionality. Different updates (reloads) appear to correct the problem but only temporarily. After a month of respite it has just hit again. All of the fixes listed on the various forums have been tried and have actually made matters worse.

Windows Sound After Logging In

Jan 1, 2016

Is there supposed to be the sound after logging into my desktop like there was in 8.1?

When I cold boot my computer, I log onto the desktop after windows loads, and I never hear any kind of sound. However if I do I restart, I do hear the sound after a couple of moments. Only when I restart though, not from a boot up.

In Windows 8.1 I heard it both when booting up and also when restarting.

Just the initial Windows sound upon logging in is what I am referring to, all my regular sounds are fine.

Not a big deal, just a minor annoyance that is bugging me ?

Installation :: Black Screen After Logging In

Oct 10, 2015

I just attempted to install Windows 10 on my new PC. During the upgrade process, the screen went blank @ 75% and didn't come back. There was active HDD activity, so I waited until it stopped before restarting the PC.Upon restarting the PC, everything went fine and I got the "Hi" messages and so on. After that, the screen went black again and didn't come back.

After waiting, I forced-shutdown the PC and turned it back on. Windows logo appeared and everything seemed fine. Login screen appeared and I could login. After that, the cursor froze and the screen immediately turned black - and it stays that way. What's wrong?

Specs:

AMD Athlon 860k processor @ 3.7GHz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 750Ti 2GB (MSI)
1TB HDD
8GB DDR3 RAM

I'm currently using a secondary PC and may have to go back to Windows 7, but I can't seem to interact quick enough to get to the option that allows you to revert. It freezes and goes black before I can.I tried tapping F8 on boot but nothing happens, it goes straight to Windows logo.

Windows Not Logging Into Correct Account

Mar 5, 2016

Here lately when I start my Surface instead of auto signing in like normal, I get an error saying Couldn't connect to network, please try again, or something along those lines. However, it was trying to login to a random account under my name, not my normal user account. This account doesn't appear under Users and Computers either so I'm confused. It's very annoying because my device always defaults to this account to login but it can't.

Attached are some pictures of the aforementioned. Attachment 123275Attachment 123278Attachment 123279

Networking :: Logging Onto Corporate WiFi Networks

Jan 13, 2016

I can logon without problems to WiFi networks where I provide a passphrase/password to the Wifi-point. This is the case at home and at friends' and family.I can also logon on to public WiFi networks such as on trains, hotels, restaurants and what not. Some of these are like the situation described above, some are hotspot like.Where I run into problems is in corporate network situations. I'll have been provided with a UID and Password (which work, I verified them on my smartphone), see the WiFi signal I am to log on to and what is supposed to happen is:

After I have made the connection to the WiFi spot, my browser is to open automatically and bring me to a URL where I can enter the UID and Password after which I'll be connected. This does not happen. ORI should open my browser and attempt to access any url after which I am guided to a URL where I can enter the UID and Password

I'll see the WiFi point, make the connection, the browser does not open automatically and when I open it myself and try a URL (e.g. CNN.com), instead of requesting a UID and Password I just get the error 'server not found'...

Why Does IE11 Change User Name When Logging Into SSL Sites

Dec 9, 2015

Since the latest major Windows 10 update (fall 2015), Internet Explorer has been refusing to log me into SSL-protected (https:) websites without me having to alter the recorded user name.

Windows changes my user name to MicrosoftAccountmy.email@address.com, even though the original user name was a short plaintext one. Windows does remember the correct password, so all I have to do is change the user name back to the correct one.I log into the site, however, the user name is back to the MicrosoftAccount one.
