Nov 11, 2015I have my albums organised on OneDrive yet when I go into Microsoft Photos on my Surface Pro 3 (Windows 10) its showing none of my albums at all under the 'albums' tab. Tried signing out and back into app. Nothing working. Strange thing is on my Lumina 930 (Windows 10 Preview latest build) my albums are showing under albums in photo app. All my albums are in the cloud so baffled why it shows on phone but not on my surface.

Nov 23, 2015Windows Phone You can automatically upload photos to One Drive... So basically when I take a picture on my phone, I see It on my surface. But how does it work the other way around?
How do I see pictures that I take with my surface, on my phone through the photos app/one drive? I don't seem to see anyway to have pictures automatically save to one drive or to be auto upload to one drive on Windows 10.
Also, What determines what albums are shown under "albums" on windows 10m? I have a lot of picture albums stored on one drive but the only two folders that show up are camera roll and saved pictures.
If I scroll to the "folders" section of the app, I can navigate through photos app to the folder I want... But this is annoying.. the album should just show up under albums. How do I get that?

Aug 1, 2015If you start up the Windows Photos app, it opens with a screen displaying all the photos in your user/pictures folder in thumbnail form which I find highly annoying. I want it to start with a blank screen. Is there a way to do this? I thought I might get it to clear up by pointing the folder it monitors to an empty folder and removing the user/pictures folder from settings but the thumbnails are still there...

Feb 4, 2016I have and iPhone and I have lots of albums downloaded to my Windows 10 running PC. As far as I can tell, the only way to transfer music from my PC to my iPhone is through iTunes. Now I am not going to be upset if there this is the only way and I'll just have to only listen to this music on my computer, but I wanted to ask if downloading iTunes on Windows 10 is a good idea, and if it will mess with my music (mainly MP3s) and my music player (Foobar2000).

After a long struggle to import my pix from the camera to Win10 and finally succeeding, I've now another mystery
1. How to put the imported 10 or so photos into a folder? I did it with another bunch of imported photos and now I can't remember how I did it though I tried and tried..
2. How can I pick out the ones I want to send (and how to send them by email?) as I prefer not to delete the ones I won't send, to avoid later regrets. I don't even know how to delete any individual photos....
MS keeps everything a secret - no links to choose photos, or delete them, or send them, or change the order in which they are arranged, etc. I had come to learn photos in Win7 with "Photo Gallery" after a long time - now I'm condemned to the same torture on the new windows!
OneDrive Including ALL Photos On PC In Photos Tab Stream
Jun 29, 2015Even if I mark an album, say, 'my documents' as a "documents" type folder in my onedrive online settings, these photos will still be included in my 'photos' tab stream. that and, any photo ever that's on my PC will show up- not just photos in my "my photos" folder on my PC. it's really annoying, i'm getting gamesave pictures, wallpapers, screenshots, and all kinds of random crap that aren't supposed to be part of my camera roll stream all over my one drive... why is it doing this?

Jul 30, 2015So I upgraded my Surface Pro 3 to Windows 10 last night and so far quite impressed. However it looks like an issue has carried over from Windows 8.1 to 10.
I'm finding that the Photos app cannot see the photos stored on my SD card. I have directed the library to point to the SD card and it is the only location defined in the Library for Photos. This was a problem in 8.1 but as I never used the app I stopped worrying about trying to sort it. However I can see myself using the app in 10, so would like to figure out what is happening.
It's not a case of the app not showing duplicates because I temporarily disabled the option for it to show OneDrive photos and now nothing shows.
Creating New Folders
Jan 21, 2016I have been unable to create new folders in File Explorer. When I click on a new folder icon, I get the "not responding" message and have to exit the application. This began happening several weeks ago and is now happening whenever I try to create a new folder.

1. If I just open File Explorer, from left panel I drag and drop This PC to desktop and a shortcut will be created on desktop (This PC - Shortcut). If I right click on that shortcut and choose Properties, "This PC - Shortcut Properties" windows will be opened, which is NOT what I want.

Performance :: Creating A Recovery Drive USB
Dec 23, 2015I have recently updated to Version 1511 and thought I would try to create a recovery drive on a USB having been unsuccessful when trying in the earlier Windows 10. This time it seemed to be working with the system files box checked, though it seemed to take an age before the USB was required to be inserted. It said I would require a USB of 8GB minimum capacity so I used a 16GB size.
When it finished creating the drive ( I did not see the actual finish but no messages were left on screen) I noticed that the USB had only a little over 1 GB of information loaded.
I would probably find it useful if I could be told what files I should expect to find on the USB and the size of each. The files in my USB are titled: boot; efi; sources; bootmgr; bootmgr.efi and reagent. The sources file ( 1GB) is by far the largest.

Oct 1, 2015I need to install Linux for school and therefore was partitioning my windows. I created a 60GB and 1GB swap ext3 partitions using easus partition master and now I am getting a blue screen with that code. Note; I haven't tried to install Linux yet.
I used repair in windows usb media which couldn't find anything, then I tried the following:

Can't Browse When Creating Desktop Shortcut
Dec 13, 2015Have been adding many shortcut icons to the desktop by:
Right click on desktop/new/shortcut
Create shortcut window opens & I hit the browse button, which then opens a browser window where I can select "This PC" and navigate to C:Program files to select the .exe file.
This procedure worked well for about 20 items or so. Now when I get to the browser window, the only item in the tree is "Desktop/Gary" - Nothing else, so I can't get to C: drive.
In the meantime, I used File Explorer to locate the .exe file & right click/ send to desktop.
Installation :: Creating A Bootable USB When Only Have Contents Of ISO
Aug 1, 2015It's possible you might have the contents of the ISO but not the actual ISO image itself on HDD.It's still possible to create a bootable USB using purely MANUAL commands for this example assume Disk nr is 7 and the USB stick is on drive H. The files from the ISO are in say folder WINDVD on drive E here's what to do.
1) open CMD as administrator
2) DISKPART
3) LIST DISK
4) SELECT DISK 7 (remember our example above)
5) CLEAN
6) CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
7) ACTIVE
8) FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK
9) EXIT (don't close the cmd prompt though)
10) CD E:WINDVDBOOT (again from example contents of ISO are on drive E)
11) BOOTSECT /NT60 H:
12) After 11) finishes - takes 1 sec approx. copy the entire contents of directory WINDVD to the USB stick as is - copy contents in same folder layout as on the disk - don't have WINDVD as the high level - copy CONTENTS so ist folder on USB stick will be BOOT.
13) now you've got a bootable USB.

Aug 6, 2015I have upgraded my Windows 8.1 system to Windows 10 through the Windows update app and have created an installation media USB stick. I want to clean install, something I am very familiar with, but not since the new uefi, gpt, legacy etc. that I'm not familiar with. If I do a clean install and delete the entire disk, Windows will create the partitions and install the necessary "data" to run the computer correctly? I don't need to save the data on the hidden partitions that are present now?

Jan 5, 2016These are my issues:
When I create a New Folder and try naming it, it freezes, then Explorer will restart. The folder will be made but if I try to rename it, it will do the same thing.
When I try deleting that empty folder, the Moving to Recycle bin takes over 30 sec long, there is nothing inside it. I can delete a big regular file instantly.
The Context menu also has very black thicker separator lines compared to what it should be a faint light grey color. That was the first thing I noticed that was off.
