View 2 RepliesIn Windows 8.1, if I split my display in half - I could have multiple apps like Internet Explorer and Visual Basic open. Then if I was watching a video on YouTube in full screen mode, the video would still only be displayed in the half of the screen so I could still multitask and do something else in the other half. However if I try to do this in Windows 10, the YouTube video in full screen mode does actually put the video in full screen and takes up the whole display. Is it possible to just get it to display in half of the screen like in Windows 8.1 or is this not yet possible? Was a really handy feature!!

View 1 RepliesHaving problems seeing their online music collection from Groove?
When Microsoft allowed streaming from OneDrive, I uploaded my entire music collection and started using this service. Everything worked great on Win8.1 with Xbox Music. Now on Groove I can only see 24 (out of 500+) when I use the 'On OneDrive' filter. There's nothing special about these albums, so I don't know why it's only limited to these.
I wonder if it has anything to do with this ridiculous policy of no longer allowing placeholders in OneDrive and forcing people to do selective sync? I can't sync my music folder locally as I don't have enough space on my hard disk (that's the whole point of cloud storage.....)
How do you stream a video from your win 10 pc to the xbox one? In windows 8 you could play to and then select the xbox. Is there anyway to do that in Windows 10? like play to feature in win 8
View 4 RepliesWith Windows 8, I had a bunch of different apps for videos (movies, tv, etc). I would start a video, swipe from the right, select 'device', select my Xbox One, and it would stream to the Xbox. Now I am not seeing any way to do this.

When I stream news or video or try an go to Microsoft support it reboots with this funky aurrrrp sound and them saying they are checking for error messages. 2 days of this is enough. When is this testing of 10 going to end?
I will pull the memory and check. Not the only message in 2 days, though.
I have this issue for about a month already. Starting with Windows 7 I thought the problem would resolve itself once I switched over to Windows 10. Sadly I was mistaken, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED BSOD occur every day when I startup my computer and try to watch a stream or video. After the computer rebooted it just crashes again (sometimes after I try to watch a stream/video and sometimes it freezes when I just open Google Chrome). It takes me 2-4 reboots every time until I can do anything on my computer.
View 9 RepliesEven if I mark an album, say, 'my documents' as a "documents" type folder in my onedrive online settings, these photos will still be included in my 'photos' tab stream. that and, any photo ever that's on my PC will show up- not just photos in my "my photos" folder on my PC. it's really annoying, i'm getting gamesave pictures, wallpapers, screenshots, and all kinds of random crap that aren't supposed to be part of my camera roll stream all over my one drive... why is it doing this?
View 1 RepliesOkay so I updated from windows 7 to windows 10 i have these black bars around my screen instead of a full screen so I tried changing the resolution because it was set to 800x600 so I change it to 1920x1080.
View 1 RepliesI wanted to run some games on 1024x768 but i had black bars i fixed that problem by selecting 1024x768 resolution and scaling to full screen. But i want to know if there is a way to change the resolution to 1024x768 when the game opens instead of doing it manually and when the game closes the resolution goes back to normal which is 1366x768.
View 1 RepliesHow to keep IE in full screen. Its been a while and my addled brain has forgotten.

View 4 RepliesIs there a hot key to take a full screen shot of whatever is on the screen and put it into the photos section? I don't want it to go to the clip board.
View 4 RepliesI note in the screenshots that there is an option in W10 marked 'Use full screen start when in the desktop'. This seems puzzling to me, as I will want to use the full screen start when on the start screen (of course) but obviously I won't want a full screen start when running the Desktop app. Is it possible to use the start menu when running the Desktop app and still have the full start screen presented when I close it/switch away from it? Much like Win8 (only with the new and improved start menu of course) where I right click on the Windows logo icon to get the start menu and left click it to return to the start screen?

View 1 RepliesI was working on my MIL's laptop over the weekend, and she was having problems with games on Windows 10. She's running a Yoga 2 Pro, and launching full screen games requires a resolution change. The game would launch, and be running normally, but attempting to give it focus would always drop you back into the desktop.
After doing some research, it's a remaining bug from the beta. Resolution changes causes the start menu to steal focus, which causes you to drop down into the desktop. Alt tabbing into the game repeats the cycle. The games (in this case) were not crashing, just unable to display.
I have inserted shortcut into startup listing but can't find the way to make it open full screen (app is XBMC/KODI). It opens after boot automatically but still has the task bar at the bottom and title bar at the top - not a good way to watch a movie.
View 1 RepliesWith the latest Windows 10 update I can't play any game in full screen. As soon as I open the game my screen goes black and it tabs out to the desktop. Putting it in 1920x1080 (monitor size) won't work, because my pc isn't good enough to handle it.
View 1 RepliesTesting the xbox game DVR records great but for some reason does not record sound. Also will not work if a game is in full screen mode only works in windowed mode.
View 5 RepliesTwo week ago I upgraded to windows 10 and immediately installed a new SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD Drive. All is working fine with the exception of Netflix that freezes avery minute or so in medium and full screen, (works ok in minimized screen).
I understand Netflix needs "Silverlight" to function which is supposedly supported by Windows 10 but not by Windows Edge. I've tried running Netflix on Explorer but still have the same problem.
I have a gigabyte MB with on-board graphics, 1 vga and 1 DVI as outputs.
I have 2 new asus monitors with 1 vga input and 2 hdmi inputs.
The vga to vga connection to monitor 1 produces full screen on 1920x1080 (recommended)
Asus furnished a cable DVI to HDMI. This connection (monitor 2) leaves about 1/2 inch blank space on either side and about 1/4 inch top and bottom. 1920x1080 (recommended). 1280x1024 setting fills the screen, but display looks stretched.
I do not seem to have a desktop all of a sudden. All I have is this full screen start menu. How to turn this off, or how I turned it on. How to get this back to a traditional desktop?

View 9 RepliesMy computer has a mind of its own apparently. I can no longer view my regular desktop. All I get is the full start screen with all the stupid tiles on it. I have tried changing my settings, restarting, shutting down and rebooting, nothing is working. When I click the windows logo all I get is that same full start screen. Am I missing something? All I want is for it to show me my regular, normal desktop. Not these tiles!
