View 1 RepliesI recently tried windows 10... didnt like it. Did the recall back to windows 7 option. Let it do its thing. Came back and my computer was trying to rapair itself... said could not reboot windows is checking for a solution.. I let it go.. it said no solution found. And just turned off..So I restarted spammed f8. Tried to start in safemode.
Got to password screen and mouse and keyboard won't work...So I restart, spam f8 again. I select repair windows this time, cancel the repair process then clicm.advanced options. Try to look at restore points... and it says none exist... that is bs. I did restore points twice a week. when. I try to start normally it loads her goes to a blue screen with tons of writing and letters and errorrs but no time to read any...
I have followed several similar threads and their fixes for this problem with no result. After downloading the Win 10 upgrade, my system then said "loading updates". Then it restarted with a blue login screen saying "Welcome Back!" And a box to enter my password. The cursor is blinking in the box, but neither my mouse or keyboard works.
I have hard booted several times since the ctrl+alt+delete does not work. I am also not able to access safe mode as none of the "F" keys work during boot up.
I have tried the following:
1. Unplugged all USB devices except keyboard.
2. Turning off internet at the router.
I have a Dell desktop, and upgraded from Windows 7, with a Netgear router/modem. The only way I can get the system to move is if I power off at the main switch after booting up which goes into bios and disc diagnostics, but I don't know enough about computers to know what to do there!
Tried using DDU and it asked to enter safe mode, went to safe mode, it then said "insert bootable media" and I tried to select it from BIOS but I could never get to BIOS because my mouse and keyboard controls were dead. Nothing I've done (plugging, unplugging) has fixed this issue. How to fix this.
View 1 RepliesI have a Dell XPS 17 laptop. Worked great under Windows 7. Tried Windows 10 but was unable to get the wireless LAN driver to work, so I went back to Win 7 via the official "Go Back to Windows 7" option in Windows 10 - now the keyboard and mouse won't respond after start up. They work fine in the bios, but are completely unresponsive on the login screen - even when I boot in safe mode. No USB ports work, so I can't try another keyboard/mouse. Was going to reinstall but I'll lose the existing data. Now I'm going to have to pull the drive and copy over manually, then reinstall. Last thing I was going to try was disabling EVERYTHING in the BIOS just in case there was some kind of weird IRQ conflict, etc.
View 1 Repliesturned my computer on yesterday and it loaded up fine, apart from there was no cursor and my keyboard wouldn't work. I have a R.A.T. 5 mouse and a Coolermaster QuickFire keyboard. I know that they're on and working because their LED's are on. I decided to plug in my old ps2 keyboard and restart my PC to enter BIOS. I checked and it recognises that the keyboard and the mouse are connected into the USB hub and says they're working. Another thing, even my ps2 keyboard doesn't work when my computer gets past the start screen!
View 1 RepliesI just went from Windows 7 to 10 and now my USB keyboard and mouse are unresponsive.
View 5 RepliesI'm guessing it doesn't recognize the 10 drvers. And without the keyboard I can't log in because I have a password. Keyboard does work in bios though but not in safe mode.I really don't want reinstall and lose all my data
View 1 RepliesMy mouse and keyboard (both are USB) don't work, but they are lit up. I tried replugging them, but that doesn't work. I tried using F8, but that doesn't work. I also don't have a PS/2 port, as I am running BootCamp on a Mac. I even tried using the Apple Keyboard.
Before this problem, I had issues with BAD_POOL_HEADER (BSoD) on Windows 10 after updating drivers. Checking if I had any system restores, it didn't have any that I made before the update. So, I reset my computer, with all files intact. Then my problem arises; keyboard and mouse do not work, and I'm pretty much stuck on the login screen.
I'm stick on the below screen. My keyboard and mouse will not respond. I don't get a login prompt. The time is correct and the little icon in the bottom right indicates if my Ethernet cable is connected.
I had Window 7. I used the microsoft provided upgrade to install windows 10. The process seemed to have completed successfully. I was able to get a login prompt once and successfully logged in. I opted to not send any information to microsoft at the initial propts. I got to my desktop, everything seemed to be working ok. I thought there were a few startup apps I didn't need in my tray. So I turned off auto startup on login for OneDrive, Skype, and my logitech camera. I restarted and now I get stuck at this screen.
The time updates correctly over time, its not frozen. I can plugin/unplug the Ethernet cable and the little icon in the bottom right will change to indicate if it has internet. I can press the power button on my computer and it correctly interprets that as a shutdown command and it gracefully shuts down.
My mouse/keyboard wont work. They used to work fine. I am able to use the mouse/keyboard in my BIOS with out a problem. However the moment the system starts to load, the lights on my keyboard and mouse go out and they become unresponsive. I tried various combinations of pluging the USB keyboard/mouse into different ports. I tried using different mouses and keyboards. I tried disabling legacy USB support in the BIOS. Nothing works.
I tried getting into safe mode but can't. Most solutions to get into safe mode require your system to already be working correctly. Holding F8 or F8+Shift don't work.
I'm currently installing windows 10 on my lap top so I can try to create a restore disk. Which should then allow me to go into safe mode and try to repair what ever has gone wrong.
My computer is sporting an i7 with 16 gigs of memory. I use a 128gb SSD for my system and have 3 other hard drives for various data storage. No other OS installed. The computer has been functioning fine for the last two years.
Since today morning I am not able to login to my Win10 PC. It starts normal until the lock Screen appears. The clock in the lock Screen is working, so everything seems to be ok. But the System does not react on any keyboard or mouse Input.
The Keyboard is working perfectly in the BOOT Menue (after F2 during Startup). So I am quite sure that this is not a hardware problem.
Recently I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 however this caused several issues with my laptop so I reversed the upgrade back to 8.1. My Kaspersky AntiVirus would then not work leaving just a blank logo on my desktop. I tried to uninstall kaspersky using the uninstall programme available on their website but upon restart I can no longer get past the login screen as I can't use my keyboard or mouse to enter my password. I can enter a screen that allows me to select safe mode but again I can't enter my password. I have a Dell restore USB but this will not work. I have tried USB mouse and keyboard but no luck either. I cannot preform a restore at all.
View 1 RepliesSo I recently downgraded from Win10 to 7 and after everything finished, I can't type in my password or move my mouse! I tried replugging the USBs to no avail and I restarted and booted my pc in safe mode And now I'm stuck on the lock screen in safe mode. How do I fix this?
View 1 RepliesInstalled Windows 10 on HP Pavillion p7-1262 about 2 weeks ago. Worked fine up until last Friday, screen went black, no keyboard entry, no mouse cursor. Can't enter BIOS. Whats wrong?
View 3 Replieswindows 10 my search bar and start button on keyboard and screen does not work.
View 8 RepliesYesterday I set my Bulgarian keyboard layout to be the default one and my German to be the secondary. Then I shut down and today when I tried to log in, only the Bulgarian layout was enabled (Cyrillic letters) and I can't switch to the German layout (Latin letters). You guessed it - my password uses Latin chars . The key combinations Alt+Shift or Win+Space are not working.
Password reset works only with pre-made passdisk or something like that (I haven't set one). I tried going to Troubleshoot mode, but couldn't find anything useful there yet. Running the command prompt troubleshooting option gave me the opportunity to change the keyboard layout, enter my password and use the cmd prompt. There I tried to use the "control" command to set the keyboard layouts but it doesn't recognise the "control" command. Maybe I have to navigate somewhere else (default was system32).
I'm trying to reset my PC to get out a temporary user profile I'm stuck on. Every time I start the reset process, I am sent to a frozen Choose Keyboard Layout screen. I can't use my mouse or touchscreen to choose a layout.
View 7 RepliesI got windows 10 installed no problems last week and all was going fine until yesterday. I couldn't get into the store and a couple of apps didn't run. I tried everything to reset the store app and everything so last resort I went for a reset. And its all grand reset no problem, completed everything and reset but now I'm stuck at the lock screen. Obviously the driver's for the mouse ain't installed now because I can't slide the lock screen up to enter the login. what do I do now?
View 2 RepliesI use left handed mouse, and swapping left / buttons works OK. I also set the wheel button to be "double click". But the wheel button brings up the context menu instead of double click. If I change to right hand mouse, the wheel button gives double click as expected. how to make the wheel button give double click for left hand mouse?
View 5 RepliesOkay, so I take blame for accidentally messing up my Windows 10. My NVIDIA graphics card wasn't working and wasn't letting me install my drivers. Well that aside, now that I installed older Drivers Windows 10 registers something horribly wrong. It wants to do a system repair. Okay, good, fine with me. But then when it gets to the page for me to select a keyboard layout, I have no mouse and my keyboard doesn't work either.
Anytime I press a button on them their backlights turn on, but then turn back off when I don't do anything with them.
I can't afford to get a new OS, I have no DVD Drive so I definitely can't do anything that requires a disk. What do I do?
I updated my laptop (No touch screen) from win 7 to win 10 ....... my mouse and keyboard is not working
View 1 RepliesI have installed windows 10 and it was working great and then I turned on my pc and when it gets to the screen after the blue windows logo where one would normally login my keyboard and mouse will not work. I've tried them on every USB port I have and nothing works.
View 4 RepliesWhenever my laptop goes to sleep, the only way to wake it up is through the laptop's keyboard (pressing any key on the keyboard). But when I press the USB keyboard or the USB mouse, it doesn't wake up.I use my laptop mostly as a "desktop": I connect it through an HDMI cable to a larger 24" monitor, and the laptop is lying closed in the corner. It is just annoying to open the laptop and press the keyboard.. not a big deal, but if it's possible to change that it will be good !
View 6 RepliesSo my computer started running a bit slower then it should be, at the point where my computer to open would take half a min, so i did fresh install. So i left installation overnight, i wake up in the morning and it say "Hi there" installation menu where you choose Country, language, keyboard layout and timezone, but it's totally froze, i can not see mouse cursor or use my keyboard, if my monitor goes to sleep i can't turn it on back. I did read that it's problem with drivers not installed. I've tried restarting pc few times. Is it true that problem is with drivers not installed correctly or at all?
View 1 RepliesI recently re-installed Windows 10 on my Asus X205TA notebook using the ISO on a USB stick. It installed without a problem, but when I boot the computer now (first boot after installation), the OS does not recognise the keyboard and the mouse, so I cannot enter the required data to proceed to the next screen..
Seems like the required drivers are missing, and I am thinking a re-install may be necessary, but how to get the keyboard and mouse drivers included (inserted?) in the installation process?
My PC was working fine until today. Now when I boot up the lights on my razor keyboard illuminate but when it gets past the bios the lights turn off.
When the login screen for w10 comes up I can't login because both the keyboard and mouse are not responding.
They work fine in the bios. I am using a custom built PC (a88x-gamer MOBO) and a corsair m65 mouse with a razer black window 2015 keyboard and running Windows 10.
