View 1 RepliesWindows 10. I'm at the "Upgrading Windows" screen and it's been stuck at 25% (copying files 84%) for over an hour. Is this normal?
View 7 RepliesI tried upgrading my windows 7, but failed 5 times.
step 1 on copying files are 100%
step 2 installing features n updates are 100%
step 3 FAILED, it stuck on black screen and freeze, nothing i can do besides force restart and its restored to my windows 7 back.
It's always stuck at 75% step 2 and when go to step 3 is freeze ( 5 times in row, I'm thinking give up or buy new laptop with windows 10)... I'm currently downloading ISO file to blank DVD hopefully it's works....
Black screen and stuck cursor after upgrading to windows 10 on my acer laptop, I've tried all other forums and nothing has worked ...
View 1 RepliesIt says "downloading windows 10"and i get the icon scrolling but then it just takes me to the windows update screen that shows me my current updates are up to date. I've tried this over a dozen times now, even going as far as disabling my windows firewall and ms essentials....still nothing. I've installed the updates that were optional as well as the required ones but it still will not launch. Downloaded the windows 10 update.exe from microsoft directly and it does the same thing as the one in the taskbar. What else should I do? Maybe it's a sign I just keep 7 (ultimate btw) for a much longer time.
View 1 Repliesget stuck on the windows Screen and i have tried to do the factory reset and got an error saying it failed. Just wondering if there is anything else i can try. Other things i have tried is unplugging his computer and holding the power down for 30 seconds then plugging it back in i have tried to do a system restore which didn't work.
View 1 RepliesI rebooted to have updates installed and the percentages completed on both shutdown and boot up.
After the updates completed now when I turn my computer on it just stays on the blue background screen with the dots spinning around in a circle. I'm able to press Crrl Alt Del and get to the screen with ease of access, shutdown, and connect to the Internet, but can't go anywhere else.
Have tried restarting from that prompt as well and it still never gets to the login screen.
I tried to upgrade my Windows 7 laptop to Windows 10 but after it restarted, it got stuck on the loading screen.
Windows 10 (x86 build 10130)
I was updating with mediacreation tool, and it stuck at %93 black screen There is not cursor, says it is configuring settings %75 .....
View 3 RepliesSo, after having this problem for a few months I decided it was time i asked. Whenever I restart my pc for any reason, it just gets stuck on the black screen right before power off. Everything else still works fine, even when I update I just wait a few minutes then hard reset. But this is getting annoying especially when I have the updates that need multiple restarts because I have to sit there and watch it.
View 1 RepliesMy update is stuck on the Updating Windows screen with the circle showing 0%. What do I do?
View 2 RepliesI recently started getting a black screen when trying to turn on my laptop, a Sony Vaio running Windows 10. I am unable to download the DM log collector tool since I cannot use my computer at all. It stays on the black screen even if I let it sit for hours. It's possible that I backed up a Windows 10 file when originally upgrading from WIN7 but I'm not sure and if so, it would be on an external hard drive.
View 5 RepliesIt seems like my Lock Screen wallpaper is stuck on "Windows Spotlight". When I try to change to "Picture" or "Slideshow" in settings nothing happens, and when i choose "Slideshow" and then "Windows Spotlight" the preview turns grey with the loading indicator and nothing more happens.
Would really like to be able to choose my own lock screen wallpaper, though Spotlight is a pretty cool feature.
I think my windows 10 upgrade gets stuck at 92% with configuring windows at 69%. It's been at this screen for over 24 hours already. I'm a bit concerned now.
I'm wondering if I shut it down by pressing and holding the power button, would I get myself into another problem?
On Window 8.1. Boosted the install which a lot of people are doing by clearing SoftwareDistribution/Download and running the cmd prompt.
Downloaded the Windows 10 update, as soon as the Preparing to Install dialogue was done, the computer restart, trying to install a normal Windows 8.1 update instead.
Once I am booted up again, I get this error [URL] .... and try the fix.
Once I try and redownload the update again, it skips to 100%, then fails the update with the error 80070643 being reported.
I upgraded to Win 10 on Friday, and since, despite several resetting PC attempts, Win 10 will not load to the login screen. Instead, it is stuck on a loop flashing between the lock screen and a gray loading screen quickly back to the lock screen -- instead of loading to the login screen. This only happens when I attempt to restart or update my PC. If I go to the lock screen because I locked my PC or it fell asleep, I can unlock it. I have also attempted to reset my PC to the previous build, to no avail. I have no restore points.
View 1 RepliesIt happens everytime I try to upgrade windows 10, I have tried loads of different methods but none seem to work.
The C:$Windows.~BTSourcesPanthersetuperr.log is as follows:

I successfully upgraded 2 computers, but have problem with my notebook HP ProBook 4320s.
When upgrading reach 75% (100% installing drivers), black screen appears and I have to turn it off and on, then it restores to previous win7.
I upgraded all drivers and BIOS with no effect.
I do not have a touch screen on my PC. I have upgraded from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 10.
After upgrading my monitor screen seems to be stretched horizontally such that a circle now appears as an ellipse.
How to return screen to normal....
I have a retail copy of windows 8 on my desktop which I recently upgraded to win 10, I was wondering if I can use that windows 8 key again to install windows on a laptop since it is no longer on my desktop?
View 1 RepliesSo like a lot of you, I wanted to upgrade my laptop to Windows 10. But when the laptop was in the middle of installing Windows 10 and had restarted a few times, as it does during the installation, it suddenly went black screen with NO cursor or anything. It has been like this for 2 days now, and I don't know what to do.
I can clearly see that the laptop is still on and "working", so it has not just shut down. I'm afraid to force the laptop to turn off, because it's in the middle of a system upgrade. So I'm wondering if there are any alternative solutions or is my only option to force the laptop to shut down and then restart it and hope for the best?
I have a dell insperation and after having upgraded to windows 10, I came across a few issues. The update when well and windows 10 is working on my laptop, however, I have an issue where I am presented with a black screen when i start my computer. I do see a dell screen and a windows boot screen before it goes black so i know the issue is not a hardware issue, however after the windows boot screen passes (the one with the blueish window icon) the screen goes to black, but it is still on (meaning the monitor is still turned on just not displaying anything). The reason i know that windows installed fine is that external monitors do work, just not my laptop monitor. I have already reinstalled windows 10 and have made sure all my drivers are up to date. Windows 10 is just not recognizing my laptops screen as a usable monitor.
View 9 RepliesAfter upgrading my Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro I have also been plagued with the black screen of death. After the BIOS screen it goes black and I do not even get a mouse cursor and I've also let it run for about 30 minutes just in case and nothing. I've tried a lot of the fixes that are being posted online:
-Updated the display adapter driver
-Subsequently uninstalled the display adapter driver
-Disabled fast startup
-Pulled out the battery
-Enabled F8 at startup
-Tried using an installation media DVD I made and that also gets stuck loading but with the blue Windows Logo.
Here is the kicker. I have a bootable USB that has Ultimate Boot CD on it with mini Windows XP. When I boot into mini Windows XP and click shutdown and select restart, Windows 10 then boots normally and will repeatedly boot normally as long as I don't eject that USB. Once I eject that USB I lose everything and I can't even get into Safe Mode. So I've gone back in to see what kind of display driver the mini Windows XP has but have had no luck in finding it. I did call Windows and they said my laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad E555) is compatible with Windows 10. Beyond that they were not useful at all.
I recently upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 64 bit and shortly after it was completed, everything was working fine until the screen suddenly went black. The computer was still running but I could not see anything on the screen to restart the computer so I closed the laptop so that it would shut off to sleep. Coincidentally a power outage happend lasting for about an hr after. When I am finally able to boot up the computer, it show the ASUS splash screen and the windows logo with the loading spin cycle but then shows a black screen after. My guess is that the OS may have been corrupted or something so that I plan on backing up my hard drive before going to a tech shop. I'm not sure what the issue is but it seems like I may have to reinstall the operating system. i have an ASUS N61J. I can't boot into bios or safe mode and can't get passed the black screen to log into my user account.
View 1 RepliesI recently updated from windows 7 to windows 10 and there is one problem. The side of the monitor will have black bars if the resolution is bellow 1920x1080 on desktop and games. I tried to reinstall the driver and it didnt work. My driver is also the lastest too.
My specs:
Intel HD graphics family
Intel Pentium g620 2.60ghz
Have installed Windows 10 on two desktops, so decided to download and install on laptop. Laptop is currently on and shows 67% on Configure settings and 91% overall. There is no light flickering except a slight flicker about every 20-30 seconds showing action on hard drive and it has been at 91% for over an hour.
