Every day in the Reliability Monitor on my laptop I get a "Successful Application Reconfiguration" on the programs. Sometimes I get it twice a day.
What type of files do you take? I know you don't take XML files.
Getting error message, "That password is incorrect. Make sure yo're using the password for you Microsoft account. You can always reset it at account.live.com/password/reset."
I just upgrade after purchasing this laptop 2 days ago. After the first restart of the successful upgrade I can't log in. I'm using the right password and have changed it and used that with no success. I can't do anything with this computer and like I said just bought it and need it for work.
Upgrade went OK, went back a few days later to download the ISO, ran media creation tool and made all my chorces, english,win 10 pro,x64 bit, selected iso and place to save file. then blue screen comes up and programs states, "getting a few things ready" and that's it, nothing else happens after that, 1hr, 4hr's 12hr's, still both the back and next boxes are grayed out and little dots going in circle. had to use task mgr. to end task no other way to close window. I have done search over the net and at microsoft for this problem, found nothing. done SFC it came back clean. Win 10 is activated.

View 3 RepliesSupposedly the Search functionality searches the directory tree C:Users... Well I created a subfolder in that tree (C:UsersmynameMy Start Menu) and in that subfolder I have a shortcut to an .exe. But Search can't find the shortcut (or the .exe). I really don't want to rebuild the index just for this one file (especially since I'm not convinced that would work). So I'm asking, is there somewhere else I can put my shortcut so that Search will find it?
View 3 RepliesLately OneDrive appears as one of the applications installed on my system; and the Windows Exprolorer lists it among the content of the system.
As shown there, it appears to contain a single file (or feature, maybe not a real file) with this name: .849C9593-D756-4E56-8D6E-42412F2A707B. Clicking on this just opens an empty Notebook and nothing else happens.
- How can I get rid of this application, as it seems quite useless, and I'm not aware of having installed it myself?
I cannot delete the file mentionned because a process keeps it open, a pop-up says.
I cannot uninstall OneDrive because that option is disabled on the list of applications.
- And what is this OneDrive application anyway? It doesn't seem to be the same thing as OneDrive, the storage space in the cloud, which I use regularly, and performs all right.
I have had repeated BSOD with message (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION) on a Lenovo E550 running Win 10 Pro 6 bit (upgraded from win 8.1pro 64). It occurred:
1. on sleeping, and
2. seemingly randomly. i.e. with applications open, idle with no applications open
I seem to have got around (1) by unchecking the "Turn on fast startup" option in Power Options. but the BSOD continues to occur at other times.I have used the Lenovo System update tool to update the drivers it can but have reached the limit of my current capabilities/knowledge so am looking for interpreting the dump files and troubleshooting. Per BSOD posting instructions I've run the utility and attached the zip file to the post.
Will a clean install of Windows 10 Pro 64 bit fix error code (0xc0000142)? The program is Autodesk Inventor Professional 2014. It worked fine on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

When I tried to run the application, I immediately had the error message: The application was unable to start 0x0000022.
I uninstalled (RevoPro) and reinstalled: same thing. I contacted Support who told me to reinstall my OS!I checked to see if this applied to all my applications. I found one application that had the same error: Corel Draw x8. I tried others which ran OK.I ran sfc /scannow without any integrity violations.I temporarily turned off AVG and tried to run the application - same error. I had to repair my Visual Studio 2015 Community Edition -
I'm using windows 10, since it was available, and I doubt if this possible to make an application start on windows startup on a "new desktop" using the multiple desktops option in Windows 10.
View 1 RepliesI just received this new wintel box with dual boot android and win10, the android version works fine, however, windows 10 behaves strangely, I click for example on MS edge, it launches, if you hover over it on the taskbar it shows with the small window but there is no way it actually launches on the screen! all the applications behave similarly, after fiddling a bit, I could only launch windows explorer by right clicking on the taskbar and choosing win explorer the only application that launched and I could actually see and work with.

You can stop the message "Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your PC" from appearing for all applications but I would like to have the setting of UAC apply to a single app and leave all other apps alone. I know the publisher of the app in question and it is safe. There used to be a program called "Compatibility Administrator" which ran on Windows 7 but is not available on Windows 10.

View 5 RepliesJust some background information, I was tired of Windows Defender taking up 100% disk usage at startup with Antimalware Service Executable so I installed BitDefender in its place so I could get myself set up when I start up my computer without having to wait half an hour to an hour for anything (Even Task Manager or Ctrl+Alt+Delete Security Screen) to be running.Today I just turned on my computer and noticed that it froze after logging in. After about an hour of waiting, I shut it down using the power button and turning it back on, which is usually my last-resort method. I logged into my computer again and opened the Task Manager up to find that Antimalware Service Executable was taking up 100% disk usage again, which then enabled Windows to inform me that both of my AntiVirus programs had been turned off for whatever reason. I clicked on the notification and noticed Windows Defender had turned itself back on when I never disabled Bitdefender to begin with.
Right now I'm running a Malwarebytes scan and will run a system scan with Bitdefender as well, but I'm pretty sure that's not what caused the problem with my computer because I hadn't downloaded anything since my last scan which was around a week ago.My computer is running Windows 10 Home Edition x64 on an Intel i7-4500U Dual-Core clocked at 1.8+2.4GHz with 8GB DDR3 RAM and an Intel HD Graphics (4400) GPU.

I had inadvertently had ASK tool bar on the Firefox page - I requested that someone change it to google which happened and now every time I go into firefox a pop up message says: "Firefox homepage notification" Your home page has been changed by another application. 2 options appear. 1. revert to my previous home page 2. Btw when Im talking about windows Im not talking about the OS Im talking about the applications like Google Chrome window, file explorer window, etc. So my problem is when I move a window from one place to another (like in the image) it only shows the outline. View 9 RepliesWindows Application not Opening after upgrading to Windows 10. Other Applications work but this Application is no longer working after I made an upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I have tried clean Windows 10 install but the problem is still there. VMPP for Maya is the name of the Application. From event viewer, it looks like it is crashing before it even opens.
The error information I see is:

This App worked on Windows 7 but NOT on Windows 10.
I was trying to install WMP on my PC; I disovered that it was already installed, even though there was no icon on the desktop, start menu or application bar.
Anyway, I'm now trying to set it as the default application for opening music CDs. The problem is that it is not listed in the default programs, and I cannot seem to get it included on the list. I know how to associate programs with different file types, but that's not really what I want; I'd like WMP to launch automatically when I insert a CD.
