Surface 3 - Keyboard Covers Up Half Of Page?
Aug 9, 2015
Just upgraded to windows 10 on my surface 3, the only thing, MAJOR thing that is bugging me and making me want to revert back to 8.1....
On 8.1, the window I was using resized itself so the entire window was visible. Windows 10 has decided I don't need to see the bottom half of a page whilst I am using the keyboard.
So if I want to type Facebook messages I have to keep opening and closing the keyboard to check what I have typed.
I know they've had a lot of bugs to sort, but I CANNOT believe this has been overlooked.
Tablet mode doesn't solve the problem and I don't intend to use tablet mode, it's utter garbage.

Surface Pro, running Widows 10 perfectly, except when I want the on screen keyboard, selecting in the lower right task bar. It brings up another window, which allows me to select a keyboard, or scribe, then I want to select a keyboard.
BUT, every time I relaunch the keyboard, it goes thru the same process.
Why can't I have my keyboard come up without asking if I want to scribe or talk, just bring up the correct style keyboard.
It is in English which is the preferred language.

The on screen keyboard on the Surface pro is tiny in the new Windows 10 builds! It is probably 1/4 of the size that it was in Windows 8.1. Is there any way to enlarge it?

I am running Windows 10 Home 64-bit. I have an Intel HD Graphics card and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 735M. I have had an issue for a couple of months when viewing videos or footage from my built-in camera. Half of the screen appears fine, but the other half is filled with horizontal blurring bars. This happens with a lot of videos, but some appear okay. The attached image is an example from today on YouTube.

I have a HP computer and I installed windows 10 about a month and a half ago. Now I cannot log into my computer because it continues to get stuck on a keyboard layout page. Windows came installed originally on my computer so I have no start up disc or anything. And windows 10 I got from the recent download so no disc for that one either. Is there anything I can do to get the screen to disappear? When i try to click on my keyboard or mouse while it is up neither works.

Went to bed last night and Windows was fine, after a few initial glitches it's been working without problems for more than a month. This morning, I wake up and it is showing a screen that asks me to choose my keyboard layout which does not respond to any input devices. When I manually power the computer off and back on, Windows says it's starting an automatic repair, then brings up the choose my keyboard layout page again. I can't get past it.
Note that I loaded Win10 from the download and this computer didn't come with OS disks for Win7, so I have no DVD to boot from. I am also going to be very very annoyed if I have to go buy an OS disk, reformat and lose the 20,000 pictures I have stored, It's an HP Pavilion (I can't read the model number right now, it is about four years old), has a quad-core processor.
I cannot get Win10 to go into safe mode from this configuration. As soon as Win10 starts running, it just stops seeing that my keyboard is there at all, so F8 and/or Shift-F8 have no effect -- Windows never sees any input device is there from the time it starts its automatic "repair".
If I do have to reformat and lose everything, or if I have to pay a repair shop to restore it, I guarantee the next computer I buy (and all those I get down the road) will have a fruit with a bite out of it featured prominently on it...

I have a desktop computer, it was working fine almost a year and now from a few days I am having a serious issue and that is when using my computer (generally or during gaming) it displays an error i.e PAGE_FAULT_FOUND_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA. The screen turns pink and the edges are green (that's probably because of the resolution as I use 3840x2160 so the error kinds of destorts) but that's not the real issue, the main problem is the error itself.
My Computer specifications :
Intel i7 4790
Asus Maximus VII Formula ROG
Kingston 8GBx2 DD3 Ram (Simple ones, not the gaming ones)
1TBx2 Seagate HDD
Asus GeForce Titan X
Corsair CX850M.

I've noticed when monitoring the task manager my ram usage never goes over 7.3GB used, Ive purposely tried to make it use more but it seems to hit a ceiling at that point.

I've now also noticed MSI Afterburner only detects 8GB.
Every bit of bench mark software detects 16GB
Bios detects 16GB
I am using slots A2 and B2 as per the ASUS user guide.

Click the start menu button. The left half is the traditional side- the right half is the side with all those live tiles and windows 8.1/windows 10 style touch apps. How do I get rid of that right part?
Problem in my googling is that I don't know what it's called. Closest thing I've found is unpinning individual windows- that's not what I want. I just want to get rid of that whole right part.

I got a brand new cpu, just 2 days ago. It's not superfast or powerful, it is an I5 3.2GHZ with 8GB RAM. But all I use my cpu for is reading news on the web, watching youtube and writing papers. No gaming etc. When i got my new cpu 2 days ago I did download and install AVG antivirus and spybot search and destroy. I'm on windows 10 and with these 2 programs running in the background for protection, I'm using about 50% of my CPU Memory. Is this bad? Should I make a change or remove spybot?

Having run the Insider program for several months I decided to use my Windows 7 Pro disk to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro by creating a new partition and installing and upgrading there. The PC has happily dual-booted for a month or so from Volume2 (Insider on the original System Reserved and C: partitions) and Volume3 (Windows 10 Pro on I:). I've been gradually building up Volume3 with all my programs ready to transfer permanently, but as I was running out of room I used MiniTool Partition Wizard (from Volume2) to reduce the size of Volume2 and increase the size of Volume3. I realize now that was a daft thing to do, as the PC will no longer boot from Volume3! Is there a relatively simple way of making Volume3 bootable again? If too much is involved I may decide simply to run Insider for ever.
Update - I should have added that I've tried repairing it using the Windows 10 disk with which I installed it, and it simply says that it's not repairable.

When i click on the Store, it opens, but crashes immediately after half a second. I watched various videos on YouTube looking for "the cure", but none of it worked (like PowerShell, than cmd where I typed "sfc scannow", etc.)

I do a lot of downloading and keep a tab on my space and how much I have left. I have done nothing out of the ordinary and my HD went to being completely full. Is there any programs out there that can tell me what was installed/downloaded to my PC and when? I deleted the bulk of my usual stuff I download(music) and I'm still only at like 80gb of free space when I was at 200 couple days ago.

On the start menu, the tiles that I made small sometimes half disappear for some reason. Also, not all of my small tiles half disappear, it's only some of them. If I restart the problem is fixed but it usually comes back later.

I recently got rid of a cabled keyboard in favor of a smaller bluetooth keyboard (MS Mobile 6000). Everything is great except that now, I have a hard time putting my PC to sleep. In fact, it tends to wake up after 30 seconds or so. I'm pretty sure this is due to the BT keyboard.

I have a peculiar issue with wifi on Windows 10. My computer shows a wifi link speed of 270 Mbps and i have tested the same by sending huge files over my network. Now the issue is that i strongly believe that something in Windows 10 is throttling the internet speeds drastically. I am only getting half of the subscribed download speeds on my Windows 10. I have other devices/phones connected to the same wireless network and they are getting full speeds!
I have tried several things but i am unable to achieve full download speeds on my Windows 10. This has been affecting me for the past around 15 days. Prior to that things used to be normal.

The Windows store won't open and I'm not sure what to do when i click on it, the splash screen pops up for half a second then disappears as if I never opened it, however it used to work. I've tried running commands in the powershell, scanned my computer, cleared the cache, and when I used the store troubleshooter it said that I needed a microsoft account, although I had signed into my computer (and the store before).

Okay, so I take blame for accidentally messing up my Windows 10. My NVIDIA graphics card wasn't working and wasn't letting me install my drivers. Well that aside, now that I installed older Drivers Windows 10 registers something horribly wrong. It wants to do a system repair. Okay, good, fine with me. But then when it gets to the page for me to select a keyboard layout, I have no mouse and my keyboard doesn't work either.
Anytime I press a button on them their backlights turn on, but then turn back off when I don't do anything with them.
I can't afford to get a new OS, I have no DVD Drive so I definitely can't do anything that requires a disk. What do I do?

My question, as stated in the title is how to keep the onscreen keyboard from disappearing every time i start to type eon the physical one. You may wonder why I am doing that but, but it is not for English, I am currently enrolled in an Arabic course at my Uni and i am trying to create online flashcards, since i always end up studying from the comp anyways, plus they're just other ways for me to study.
The problem comes from not having a nice layover like keyboard like they do for macs and having to buy stickers, this is a passed around laptop, I cant do that. I have the Arabic onscreen keyboard but that is mighty slow, having to click and point. Is there any fix to this or is there an Arabic third party onscreen that will do the same thing I'm asking.

My SP3 was originally on Win 8.1. I used Microsoft's media creation tool to create a USB installer for Win 10, then upgraded to Win 10 from usb. After upgrading, I verified that Win 10 was activated. I then booted from the USB installer and did a clean install.
The strange thing is, every few days, "Activate Windows" would appear on the bottom right of my screen. When I try to activate windows, I get this:
However, sometimes upon restarting the SP3 it would be activated again.
