I seem to have lost the system font and it is replaced by symbols making everything totally illegible. How can I restore the default font if I cannot read any of the text to navigate the system?

View 8 RepliesIn my work computer (Windows 10 Pro 64-bit) I noticed a strange phenomenon. When I switch keyboard layout to Greek in order to type Greek in Google or elsewhere, it types strange symbols instead of the actual character! This happens in every website when I try to type data in a box or wherever else. If I write the text in Notepad or elsewhere and I copy-paste, it is OK. The problem is I cannot type directly in Greek. The keyboard produces symbols instead of Greek characters! This problem is only in IE 11, in Google Chrome I can type OK.

I dont know what changed but icons and symbols in the action center are not being graphically rendered on the desktop. I cannot see the edge icon on the task tray, but there is a space for it and there's an app there I can click on. What's going on?

View 9 RepliesI noticed today that the usual arrow at the bottom left of desktop shortcuts has been replaced by the user icon of two figures[URL]. When I go into security properties, there are two user groups that I don't see in other files. One called INTERACTIVE, and the other called Account Unknown(S-1-5-21-4180935659-2234933324-3389827175-1000). Upon doing some research, it was said these unknown accounts can pop up when an account was deleted. I only created one account on this computer since I built it, my main account. I scanned with Malware Bytes, which came up clean. I am currently scanning with Bitdefender as well. Trying to delete the user results in a message describing how I can not remove it as it is inheriting permissions from it's parent, and that I would have to disable the inheritance feature in order to remove it.
View 1 RepliesI recently got rid of a cabled keyboard in favor of a smaller bluetooth keyboard (MS Mobile 6000). Everything is great except that now, I have a hard time putting my PC to sleep. In fact, it tends to wake up after 30 seconds or so. I'm pretty sure this is due to the BT keyboard.
View 3 RepliesI upgraded my windows 7 to windows 10 my dell insperion computer. the original conversion to windows 10 seemed to go OK for a few days. The about 2 days ago, I created a MS user account to access some of the MS store apps. Now the original Windows 7/10 user accounts - local accounts i guess - 3 of them - that we signed in with have been replaced with 1 account - I believe to be the Microsoft account (different name and password).
When we sign in with that MS account and get in to the computer, we have a pop up box that says "Critical Error - Start Menu and Cortana aren't working. We'll try ti fix it the next time you sign in." We can't do anything but select the pop-up box option of "sign out now". When we sign in again, it is the same thing.
I'm not sure if this is 1 problem or 2 different ones.
1. How do I get back my initial local user accounts, so I can access all of my programs and files?
2. How do I fix the Critical error?
So I want to make a new font to use on my computer instead of Arial but I can't figure out how to change the default font.

Finally, if you want to make systemwide changes to your font settings, you can do so here by looking to the toolbar on the left side of the Font control panel. For example, to increase or decrease the font size for, say, menus and icons, click Change Font Size. Choose the item you want to change, then select a size. (You also have the option of ticking the Bold box, which is actually kind of a nice tweak for things like title bars.)

View 1 RepliesIt seems the default font on this WIndows is Arial and it's really ugly, especially when reading an entire page in Chrome or in any other browser. Tried to change the font in all browsers- no result. It can change only the size- Arial still there. It bugs me that it's everywhere, even in games. This compact font in games is really annoying and made me quite after playing a few minutes. I have no problems with overlapping or unreadable font problems I've read on this forum.

I updated windows, did sfc/scannow defrag disk, chkdsk, try repairing windows, all don't work.
As it says, when using the aerolite theme for colored titlebars, it uses black colored fonts which are hard to read, my question is, how can I change these font colors? and also why the hell isin't this an option in the base windows 10 customization section?!?

Since upgrading to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit through an ISO file created by the Media Creation Tool, I noticed a font display problem. The screenshot shows the problem in Microsoft Edge (circled in red). The problem occurs in Internet Explorer and a few apps with browsers in them (like Steam) as well.

View 2 RepliesIn Win.7 you could modify the font for the windows, both size and font itself. Win 10 will not all me to modify size, which is stuck on 9pt, and there is no option shown to change the font to Times from Arial.
This means I have had to alter the scaling to 125% so that the icons on the taskbar are big enough, and the text on the windows readable. This, in turn, messes up the resolution on Skype and another program. How you can get the ability to change font and font size?
I installed couple of fonts and then noticed that one of them affected web browsers and changed fonts on certain websites. How to get rid of it, reinstalling browsers and restoring all settings don't work.

View 1 RepliesI just installed Build 9879 over Windows 7 on a spare machine and it went as expected except for the size of the Icon fonts and size of the taskbar. They both are much larger than they were on Win 7. I can't remember how to make them smaller. I make the icons themselves smaller (medium) by using View on the desktop but the fonts and taskbar are way to big. How to reduce them under Win 10?
