View 7 RepliesI guess I'm getting old but somehow i've missed how to print or capture a page. I can find nothing that tells me about printing. I have the win 10 download from yesterday.
View 6 RepliesI upgraded my monitor recently to a Dell 4k display. The issue/niggle I have is that the task bar at 4k resolution and relevant scaling within the Display properties is only showing on 50% on the bottom of the screen which is annoying...
View 9 Repliesunfortunately my Windows 10 experience has been ruined by the taskbar. The time doesn't appear at the bottom right, none of my apps are displayed at the bottom, I can't access the windows/start key, I can't use Cortana, if I try to use any of these nothing happens, I've tried everything and nothing works, my Settings button has disappeared also due to me not being able to hit the start button at the bottom left or using my keyboard to do so
View 1 RepliesChanged something and can no longer see Taskbar on bottom, only the sides. Also lost the search bar. Tried tuning off autohide and every setting involving the Taskbar. Even tried shrinking the screen through resolution. I have to put Taskbar on the side to be able to see it.
The more I try to customize anything in Win 10 the worse it gets. Can't even seem to reset everything to default.
All of sudden Application and even print window is opening full Page thus I am not able to click even buttons like Accept, Next, Finish, Print etc which are overlapping the taskbar and even I am not able to reach below for cross arrows to pull the windows above. Though with Auto Hide taskbar, I am able to click these buttons but I am not liking this Auto Hide feature. Is there any other way out so that these windows could be permanently kept small size giving ample space both above and below these windows.
View 3 RepliesSo the bottom of my monitor display is cut off. It is a Dell ST2010 monitor very old but still in working condition. It has nothing to do with screen resolution btw.
This is how it looks now, the problem started occurring like 3 months ago
This is how its suppose to look when i take a screen shot of it
New to Windows 10 from 7...Cannot find a print button for photos. Have tried right click on photo but it only offers share, copy or delete.....no print option.

I have the Get Windows 10 icon showing. When I click it, it takes me to the Upgrade Now button. So far so good.
When I click the Upgrade Now button, I get the starting to download screen with the circle dots. After a few seconds, it then takes me to the Windows 7 'Windows Update' page in the control panel, where it says that 'windows is up to date'. And that's it.
How to get Windows 10 to upgrade? I've done other laptops without issue.
I am still adjusting from IE to Edge and Windows 10. How do I add a Print icon (or something similar) to the taskbar?
View 3 RepliesWhen auto-hide the taskbar is enabled, the tooltip (e.g., "No new notifications") for the notifications icon covers the icon. This results in having to click twice to open the Action Center.
View 2 RepliesWhen I click on save button the contact page closes, but the contact is not created in the contact list. I am able to create it from people.live.com and sync it back. Hard reset is the only way? Soft reset doesn't work.
View 1 RepliesMy taskbar button is unresponsive. When I click it nothing happens so I am in effect shut out of the programmes. What is the solution to this problem?
View 2 RepliesMy laptop is LENOVO G510. It came with windows 8 single language. I upgraded to windows 8.1 single language a year ago. I updated it to windows 10 home by triggering the update. The upgrade went successfully. But the problem now is the start button, applications in the taskbar(only right click) and icons on the taskbar on the right side(time, battery, wifi etc) are not working. They work if I click them after a gap of ten minutes. But if I click them for a second time immediately, they won't work.
Is it my only problem or it occured to many laptops?
So, all of a sudden while watching YouTube (with Windows 10), my computer's sound stops working.
So to try and fix this, I restart the computer. But when I sign back on, the taskbar is completely clear of all my previous apps on it and the windows button refuses to work. Even when I right click the windows button, nothing pops up.
Also, when I open up apps on my desktop (like Chrome), there is nothing on the taskbar, so if I minimize anything, I can't get it back!
I'm having an issue when I'm in certain apps (Facebook being one) that when I click on a typing area the on-screen keyboard is actually covering that typing area and I don't get to see what I'm typing.

I'm running Windows 10 and have been since it was first released. This morning I was playing a game, and my sound stopped working, so I rebooted my computer to see if that would fix it. It fixed the problem, but I had no icons pinned on my taskbar, no time & date, and the search and start button would not work. After hard-booting the computer for a second time, there was still nothing. When I open a program the icon doesn't show on the taskbar.
View 5 RepliesNow & then when I start my computer, nothing appears in the task bar, the Microsoft Start button at the bottom left fails to respond to either a left or right click, the Cortana window "Ask me anything" & the Task View are also unresponsive'.
I then restart the computer either by pressing the power button for some time or by the Ctrl/Alt/Delete process. On re-starting everything is fine. What I don't know is how to prevent this problem from occurring again.
I have Window 10, just upgraded it was working great I turned my computer off and went to bed last night. Today I turn it on and now when I click the start button or windows key. The mouse just looks like it is loading, the taskbar flashes, and nothing comes up. I'm not able to use the Search Bar, however I can click my apps that are pinned to the Taskbar to open them. I can't right click on them tho to do anything with. I have tried to restart Explorer. It did nothing Also something else I think might be worth adding. I had Microsoft Edge pinned to taskbar when I turned my computer on and tried to open it is when all of this started. The Icon of Edge went black and then just removed it self from my Taskbar. Now nothing works.
View 9 RepliesI have tried everything under the sun to fix this. The search/Cortana button on the taskbar is unresponsive. Whenever I try to adjust setting under Cortana & Search I get this error:
ms-cortana://StartMode=Settings&QuerySource=Settings
The app didn't start
I have installed all updates on my windows 8.1 but I still don't see the little reserve windows 10 button on the end of my taskbar, how I can get it so I can reserve windows 10...
View 1 RepliesI upgraded windows a few months ago. about a month ago my search bar and my start button didnt work and no matter what i clicked i couldnt get it to work. I wasnt to mad about that but now i cant right click my icons and ive tried restarting windows explorer and ive googled alot. Its starting to bug me to the point where it may be better to go back to windows 7 or do a fresh install to get rid of all the problems.
View 1 RepliesI want jump lists on both taskbar and Start button, they are only showing on Start button. I have checked the registry key that controls this attribute and the value is "1" so both should show. The "Show recently opened items... " switch in Settings is set to ON. Something is supressing the jump lists on my Taskbar icons. I do get live thumbnails on the icons but that is all. Right clicking does nothing.
Windows 10 Pro is an upgrade install and did not clean install afterwards. In my opinion not needed. I have run SFC /scannow and got a clean report.
CORRECTION: The Start button is showing the context menu on right click, not the jump list, unless that IS the jump list.
Is the registry key value 1 to show the jump lists?
I found in seven forum a solution about this

How can I reduce the taskbar button icon width?
Something has suddenly changed on my computer (I used the AOL Computer Checkup program yesterday but this problem seems to have started today). When I left click on the Start Button, nothing happens. If I right click, I get a pop-up menu that is different than the Start page and is all in black and white. I don't know if the right click menu was there before because I don't think I have ever tried that. When I right click either the Word or the Excel icons in the taskbar, nothing happens (left clicking still opens the app as usual). In the past, if I right clicked the icon I would get a pop-up menu with the files that I had pinned to the taskbar plus the most recent files that I had used that weren't pinned.
