I just bought a new Lenovo computer with windows 8,
I upgraded to 10 as soon as I got it.
now when I'm trying to open a folder or save a word file or even open a chrome - the computer get stuck.
I cant tell if it's a computer issue or windows,
The upgrade to W10 has left me with a blue 'Welcome Back' screen and a 'Next' button. That's it! Clicking Next causes a reboot back to this screen. I cannot even open in safe mode and all boot options take me back to this screen.
View 4 RepliesI've been experiencing a bug that makes Library folders appear multiple times in the navigation pane. It is obviously the same folder that is displayed many times and I can get rid of them if I refresh the navigation pane by hitting the F5 key. I've noticed that it happens when I have an Explorer window open while another program is copying or deleting files in the background to a folder inside one of the Library folders tree.
I can easily reproduce it doing the following:
1) Open Explorer window
2) Open cmd.
3) With cmd I copy some file inside the Documents folder.
This causes another "Documents" icon to show up in the navigation pane.
In Windows 10, I can only merge folders with the library. I can't just add a folder to a library anymore, like in Windows 7/8. I wonder how can I add folders to a library, because I need multiple folders in a library.
View 1 RepliesI have my pictures, documents, music and videos organised on a seperate HDD and added them to the Librarys so that I get rid of these annoying folders which several programs add to documents/pictures in the User-Folder.
Now with Windows 10 I have got the problem, that the Onedrive-Folders and the User-Folders are always added automatically to the Libraries. I can delete the folders from the Libraries but after the next restart they are back again.
The standard Folders -> I don't use them for my files ... Just some programs save some files there. And these folders should be excluded from the Libraries!!

C:UserChristianMusic
The folders for my documents etc.. These folders are in my Libraries.
D:Documents
D:Pictures
D:Videos
D:Music
This folder should be excluded from my Libraries, too.

I don't know if it is a bug or if I do something wrong. (I delete the folders by right-clicking on the Library>Properties>delete.)
Finally found a use for a library. Can create it locally, but there's no share context. Can not use homegroup. Is shared/public library even possible?

View 3 RepliesI was able to do this in Win 7 however not having it anymore I can't figure out how I did it. In explorer the library icons on the left pane have the actual folder as a submenu item, that is if you expand a library you have to expand the actual folder to see the subfolders. I want the library icon to be the actual folder, and not have to expand it twice.

Then I click to accept that, and apparently the OS performs O.K.
What is the import of that failure in loading and how to solve it?
Every time I open Windows Media Player the program always starts to update media library. Why? I don't fully understand why it's constantly updating. I have a lot of music on my hard drive and it takes way to long to update. Anyway I can stop the updating and update only my new music when I add it to my hard drive?
View 2 RepliesI have a HP computer and I installed windows 10 about a month and a half ago. Now I cannot log into my computer because it continues to get stuck on a keyboard layout page. Windows came installed originally on my computer so I have no start up disc or anything. And windows 10 I got from the recent download so no disc for that one either. Is there anything I can do to get the screen to disappear? When i try to click on my keyboard or mouse while it is up neither works.

I managed to upgrade it to Windows 10 hoping that it will cure the problem BUT still it is a problem to start.
I checked everything and used every tool possible on windows 7 and windows 10 but nothing worked. (ccleaner and others failed)
So now I have a windows 10 PC that doesn't want to start easily.
Do you think that the problem can really be a driver ? After upgrade to windows 10 I GUESS that all driver files have been changed ?
I currently have Windows 10 and recently I've encountered some random screen noise appearing when I turn on or return from sleep mode on my computer. This does not happen every time, but It only happens every 3 days to a week. I cannot get this to repeat as this happening is random.I can only get rid of this when I force a shutdown through holding down the power button and then restarting.
I am using Nvidia driver 355.98.
Noise After some time the noise disappears and then I'm left with a black screen.
I have performed a clean install of Windows 10 Pro onto a new HDD I put into my desktop PC, with all my media still on a separate 1TB HDD D: drive.
I've subsequently organised the shared folders on my D: drive into the appropriate media library's in Windows Media Player, however, when I view the media library on my PlayStation 3, the D: drive folders aren't displayed.
Now when I view the various library's in Windows Media Player, all the D: folders are shown as "unresponsive". I've tried removing and re-adding the folders and re-building the library, but that didn't work. If I add a folder on the C: drive, no problem, but any folder I add from the D: drive shows as unresponsive.
I did some Google searching, and made sure they were being indexed, which they weren't, however, when clicking "modify" and "show all locations", D: doesn't show up as an available drive to index.

I was installing win10 on my pc with media create and got to the screen where it asks you for the keyboard layout. The computer does not respond and the hdd light stops blinking.When I kill the power and reboot, the computer loads properly into windows 7 desktop then says that windows 10 could not be installed and says this:
Error 0xC1900101-0x20017. The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation.
So today I tried to update to windows 10 from windows 7 through the "get windows 10" app on my desktop. Everything went well until reboots started. When my computer attempted to reboot it stuck at start up screen where you are supposed to either go to boot menu by pressing f12 or let your system boot like it should.

I started my windows 10 update around 10:00 last night. For awhile it seemed stuck in suspend mode (black screen, monitor light orange, computer light still on etc) and I was worried but eventually I got the update screen and it went from 30% to 56% in around 30 minutes or so.The bottom screen said my computer would turn off and on again multiple times. But then later it went back to the "suspend mode" again right before I fell asleep and now 9 hours later it's still stuck like this!! No update screen no nothing. Just sitting is a suspend mode (I think!) And not allowing me to do anything.
View 3 RepliesWhenever I on my computer after I wake up or come back from work, my windows sometimes do not boot up fully. it will load and then gets stuck on an empty orange screen (might be related to the fact that I have orange set as my colour theme for my windows 10). I will then hold on to the power button on my computer to force a shutdown. Right after that, I will power on again and the computer starts up fine.
This has been occurring for a while - I didn't have this issue when I first installed (upgraded from windows 8) windows 10.
I tried googling my issue, and I have turned off Fast Start-up under power options but it did not solve the problem.
Windows store won't open on my computer and most of my apps won't work. I first tried using this fix but it didn't work:

The system cannot find the drive specified.Obviously I have not included the actually user account name. My client is a long-time subscriber to Norton, and I would imagine his system is as tight as Norton can make it.
Excuse me if this has been asked before, I have a weird issue in This Computer. When I double-click a hard drive or other device, it tries to launch some unknown deleted application and fails with an error message (see below). If I right-click on the drive, I see that "cmd" is default instead of Open and I can proceed if I select Open. This issue occurs only in This Computer. Clicking any other folder on the desktop or elsewhere opens as expected. Could it be a malware? I'm now scanning with Malwarebytes Antimalware just in case.
