View 1 RepliesIt is impossible to add other clocks and time zones. The system shows only the local time.
View 1 RepliesYesterday I installed Windows 10 Professional on my Acer Aspire V5-573G laptop. I installed the English (US) version even though I live in the Netherlands. When I corrected the time I have set it to the correct timezone (see screenshot) but it has the wrong time connected to it. As seen on the screenshot the time displayed is 21:49 even though when I took it, it was actually 13:49. Off course I could manually change the time, but I was wondering if maybe this is part of some bigger problem and if there is a better way to fix it.
View 5 RepliesJust downloaded windows 10 and it freezes or reboots every time I try and login in for the first time, if u click on anything else on this screen like this isn't me it freezes as well, any work around this to maybe login or revert back to windows 7 without being able to log on?
View 1 RepliesThis has never happened to me before upgrading to windows 10. 2-3 times a day my internet connection simply turns off for no reason. If I unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back again it works fine like normal again. This seems pretty weird and I don't know why is it happening.
PS: I have a laptop and my internet actually works fine on my brother's windows 7 laptop even when it turns off for me, so it's windows 10 problem.
This weird issue started happening few weeks ago, when I turn on my computer in the morning, the time would still show the time before i turned off the computer at night, this happens a lot. Then i go into settings and check "Set Time automatically" sometimes the time is off by 1 hour.. it happens maybe half of the time . It thinks im in the wrong timezone or something.. even thought i have it set pacific.
View 5 RepliesNow that the new upgrades have been installed, I have to log on every time my screen times out. Before the upgrades, if I walked away and came back, moving the mouse or touching a key would bring back the desktop. How can I get back to that status? (By the way, the automatic upgrade hiccuped at 75% and locked the computer so it couldn't be turned on without holding the power key down for over 5 seconds--very inconvenient as I had to go to Geek Squad to get it back since I didn't think of that).
View 1 RepliesI like Windows 10 but it caused too many problems, so I used the option to revert to Windows 7. This has also meant a return to getting insistent messages wanting me to install Windows 10 again (and on one occasion, an attempt to install it without my permission). My question is, if I do reinstall Windows 10 and run into the same problems, will I have the option to return to Windows 7 a second time?
View 3 RepliesMy system time is correct (Central Time Zone + Daylight Savings Time). Cortana is displaying UTC -4 - it should be UTC -5. How do I correct?
View 3 RepliesWhy the following command does not work and does not change the time zone to -5?
Since when I set it manually to -5, the following key will be applied the same:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlTimeZoneInformation]
"TimeZoneKeyName"="Eastern Standard Time"
I am wondering about performance. All seems to be working. Last December I built a new i7-4790k with 512GB SSD and 16 GB memory. I am using Windows 10 Pro...64 bit and all seems fast. My video card is an EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti FTW. This should be overkill as I do not play games.
So my problem is that on the web, I seem to get a page at a time, instead of a smooth scroll. I use Firefox, but now I see it is NOT a web issue. I see this in multi page Office 2013 documents and even Quicken. Is there some setting that I am missing that will load all it can and provide smooth scrolling instead of a page at a time brief delay?
Win 10 and my drivers are up to date.
Since I upgraded to Windows 10, many things have been problematic. However, my issue currently is that the Date and Time keep popping up and remain popped up. I am referring to the one which shows and entire month calendar, along with the time, day, etc. It would usually occur upon clicking on the time and date in the lower left hand corner. Whenever I click that to get rid of the expanded version, it shows up again a few seconds later as if I clicked on it.
View 3 RepliesRandomly when browsing the internet I'll get bluescreen's 10-20 minutes in. I haven't tested many things but I have updated a couple of drivers in spite of what I thought may have worked..
View 1 RepliesI recieved a new desktop pc today (hp envy pheonix) I started the first time setup with windows 10 and reached the point where I had to put my email and password in, which I did. It took me to a blue screen which say "Oops something went wrong" There is no back button on screen and I have tried rebooting the pc and it just returns to the same screen, so I'm stuck looking at this one screen.
View 1 RepliesI'm having this issue since I upgraded to Win 10: when I click restart, my laptop becomes stuck on the restart screen for ages, even the hard drive doesn't show any signs of activity. Its only after like 15 mins or so the hard drive comes into life and the computer turns off. What could be causing this?Normal shut down and hibernate aren't affected.
View 3 RepliesI did a clean install to Windows 10 on my new computer on Feb. 12. I also installed Office 2016 at that time. Since then there were a few updates on that day, Feb 12 and two or more on Feb 14th. and then nothing. And nothing at all for Office 2016. Am I missing something or have updates really slowed down.
View 6 RepliesI don't want to have to use a Pin or password to log in every time. How do I overcome this.
View 9 RepliesWindows 7 and 8 gave the time and date on the lower right of the screen. Windows 10 only gives the time. I have spent some time researching and cannot figure out how to add the date.
View 8 RepliesIs there an easy way for an older person to get his HP laptop to bypass the welcome screen direct to the desktop in win 10? (I have already managed to stop needing to sign in etc every time I start the thing up).
View 4 RepliesI have a Windows 7 computer that's a few years old and I got the Windows 10 notification that I can install it so I did, now seems like every time Windows 10 gets a update it freezes my PC.. any recommendations how I can fix this easily?

Every time I fire up my laptop without exception I cannot connect to the internet via WiFi.
Power settings are High Performance and the operating system doesn't switch off anything to save power. I never hibernate or allow sleep. It's either on or off.
The device and its drivers appear to be good, a list of nearby networks are displayed for me to connect to. On attempting to manually connect I get a message "Cannot Connect at this time"
If I then reboot the laptop it successfully connects to my WiFi network automatically without delay or errors and continues to maintain a connection.
When I shutdown the laptop I have the same problem when it is started, I have to restart it.
This same problem occurs with three different wireless networks I have access to.
Switching off the wireless adapter and back on again doesn't work. Switching off the router and back on again doesn't work, I have to reboot the laptop every time.
On all three routers the routers give the laptop a static IP address. The routers give me a different IP address though.
I downloaded the Windows 10 Technical Preview build 10041 yesterday and have just started the installation today. It's been already two and a half hours and I'm currently at 23% overall completion. The setting up process is at 78% and I'm getting impatient. Is this how long it usually takes? Should I restart my PC?
View 1 RepliesI want to click on my shortcut and fire up Ninja Trader without having to click run as Administrator, which I am, and without clicking yes to the UAC pop up window.
How can I change a shortcut permission to open without jumping through all these hoops?
Even though it says I'm the Admin, do I need to go to the Elevated Admin to do simple things like saving a Power & Save setting, which I can't do currently?
I noticed my power options only seem to work once. If i go into power settings and set it to turn the monitor off in 1 hour it will work. Once I move the mouse and turn it back on it wont work a 2nd time until i change the time to a different number like 45min.
View 1 RepliesIt has been a few days that, everytime i go to sleep or afk, the time stops and I have to set it back when I'm back !
For instance, yesterday i left at 0:12am and today the time was stuck at 00:50 or something like that. So what I did is go to time settings to uncheck then check again the "set automatically" button.
I don't know what to do, I already tried to completely reset my pc but it didn't change anything to that problem ..
I would like to update the time once a day by way of the Task Scheduler. Is there a command to do this?
