A week ago, I got a new ssd drive and used EaseUS ToDo Backup to clone my Win10 hdd to it. Windows actually worked great for a week on the ssd after this, but then I thought it would be safe to wipe the old hdd to use it for extra storage.
Now, if I try to boot the Win10 on the ssd, I get error messages about "unmountable boot volume". I've tried unplugging other harddrives to make sure they weren't interfering (they weren't), and I've tried using a Win10 install disc to both refresh and reset the Win10 ssd (both failed due to a missing partition).
I've used another computer to backup the Win10 ssd, so I'm okay with reinstalling, though I'm not sure about reactivation (I got this copy of windows as win7 from a used computer and upgraded it months ago, so I don't have the original box code.)
After upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7 within the last week, everything was fine at first. Then this morning Everything on screen froze, and when I did a force restart, the following happened (and continues to happen ad nauseam):
Windows tries to boot as normal, but I get the BSOD saying Unmountable_Boot_Volume
It then restarts, saying it's going to repair the problem, only this time it flashes to a blue screen that says Chose Your Keyboard Layout. At this point I am unable to use either my mouse or keyboard. I've tried wireless, wired, all USB ports. Nothing.
I don't have Windows 7 disc (came pre-loaded from the factory), and I don't have a Windows 10 disc or flash drive. The only other computer I have to work with this is an old laptop running XP. I downloaded the Media Creation Tool, but when I try and run it on my XP laptop it says it's not a valid win32 application, so making a flash drive boot seems out of the question.
My original os is win7 then i upgraded to 10... After a while of using it... It opens the Blue screen saying unmountable boot volume.. Also i dont have win7 cd since the os was built in...
Next i rebooted it, it says "preparing automatic repair" i tried to wait.. But after it says that, it goes to a black screen and nothing happens
Then i tried dloading the iso from the site and then burned it to a usb.. Then it says
Press any key to boot from USB
*presses any key*
BOOTMGR is missing
Press ctrl+alt+delete to restart
Is the problem in the usb or it just wont open because of the error?
I only have recovery disks on win7
My laptop is Vaio SVE111A11W
Cant open my laptop due to this so i cant really attach the needed files..
I was wondering whether it were possible to open the volume mixer instead of the volume control when left-clicking on the volume icon in the tray. At the moment I have it set to open the old classic menu, but not the volume mixer.
my game volume and my chat volume are mixed so that when I turn up my chat volume, my game volume also turns up. when I turn up my game volume, it doesn't turn it up, but when I turn up my chat volume, it turns up both my game and chat volume. How can I fix it so that my game volume and chat volume are different?
I have a prebuilt PC with Windows 10 installed on it. I want to upgrade the boot HDD to an SSD. Is it possible to do such a thing? If so, how do I transfer the OEM windows 10 from the HDD to SSD?
I just got a new laptop with windows 10 installed (upgrade of 8) on the hard drive which isn't an ssd, and I'd like to use an ssd I have Is there a way for me to put the factory install OS on my ssd?
The laptop doesn't have a dvd drive, but of course usb ports And the laptop didn't come packaged with any cds or what-not like the old days And it's a Lenovo if that makes any difference.
I just finished installing windows 10 on my HDD that had windows 7 on it. I bought a SSD specifically for an operating system but when I put windows 10 on it is kept asking me for a key that I couldn't find? How can I get windows 10 on my SSD and I am willing to have to re download all of my programs.
I'm talking about one of the below transfer boxes. I no longer see one when copying files so I have to guess when it is finished. It seems to have started after my last weekly update. I'm running Build 11082 with all the latest updates.
My old computer was a windows 8 that was upgraded to windows 10. I just ordered a new i5 6600 which comes with windows 10, a 250G SSD and 1 TB hard drive.. My old hard drive appears to be a Seagate Barracuda 1TB SATA which seems to be the same as the one in my new Vanquish. My old hard drive is 2/3 full and is backed up often. My question is can I move this old hard drive to my new computer as a separate drive without formatting it and use the data on it (or transfer my data) or does it need to be formatted (thus giving me roughly 2 TB of space with the 1 TB provided with the computer). It was my C: drive in the old computer.
My laptop has a fan problem, so I need to transfer my photos to a memory stick. In my old windows I could easily "send to" any photo and transfer it to a disc or memory stick, but I am so lost and frustrated on the new windows 10. I have only gotten as far as clicking the box, but can't figure out what next.
Just set up new computer with windows 10 and am trying to figure out correct procedure to transfer old email, pics, documents, etc from the old computer running vista? I have an old version of a software called intellimover and a high speed USB transfer cable. Will that work ok with windows 10?
I just bought a new Dell computer. I created a disk image of the old Dell computer to an external drive, How do I move the disk image from the external drive to the new computer. Also I will not mind if I can be directed to a third party software that can do the job for me. I am using Windows 10 on both machines.
i want to upgrade to windows 10 pc, so do i have to transfer my existing files on C:/ and D:/ Drives or is it going delete every files from my pc while upgrading process?
What is the best and or easiest way to transfer my photos from Picasa that are currently on my desktop to my new laptop? My desktop is Windows XP and my laptop is Windows 10.
So, i've had windows 10 since the beta. I recently got 2 new 1tb hard drives. I was originally using one to store my files, as I have a 120gb SSD as a boot drive, and don't have enough space to store my 500+ gigs of games, after effects files and the like. When moving my files to a backup disk, it hangs like this or it says something along the lines of '0 bytes per second - more than 1 day remaining' I left it like that for quite a while (14 hours) and it hasn't moved.
I downloaded OBS on my pc and set up everything perfectly to stream and used it but I forgot my password to that account so I cannot access those settings. I had another acc on my pc and I want to get the same settings for OBS from that acc, I dont really care about any other files on there it was just random pngs for stream overlay and crap but I need those settings for OBS. How do I do this? I went to the c drive and users and picked the locked acc one but no applications are there???
I've got all my old laptop's bookmarks stored in HTML format in an email I sent myself. But I don't know how to get that whole list into my new laptop's Firefox bookmarks.
I don't know when this first started happening, I just assumed stuff was transferring fast enough for it to not show up (only really moved small things). However, I got a small-ish SSD as a secondary drive for a few important things and want to test the general speed of it... but I can't, because no file transfer dialogue is showing up!!
How do I transfer photos from my Win 10 Computer to an Amazon Fire 7in Tablet
Just wondering if I need an App?
My Tablet is connected to my Computer (Hard Wired) through the same USB lead used for Charging but its not showing up in 'This Computer' as an external Hard Drive Are you supposed to 'Cast the photo' from the Computer to the Tablet?
Since I updated my laptop to Windows 10 I can no longer transfer my photos from my phone to my Toshiba laptop using the USB port. It used to come up as an external drive and then I could simply view and download photos..
Do I need to do something different now, or am I missing something?
