View 4 RepliesI'm using a windows 10 TP virtual machine, the "Search the web and Windows" feature, can I get it to use Google and not Bing? I changed it to use Chrome and not IE, but can't figure out if there is a way to use Google search on it.
View 1 RepliesHave the wrong battery info when left clicking the battery icon? Mine always displays such a short amount of time until a full charge.
Example: 28% 03 minutes until fully charged
A guy in my office just upgraded to windows 10 and it looks completely different from other installations I've seen. The start button isn't the 4 equally-sized rectangles, the top left one is hollow and bigger than the other 3, if that means anything. Anyway, when "use small taskbar buttons" is unchecked in taskbar properties, the first few taskbar buttons are hidden behind the search box on the taskbar.
I found this out by accident because I opened one more window and it barely peeked out from the right side of the search box. What can be doing this? BTW this is not the icons in the notification area, these are the program buttons pinned to the taskbar. Also, his start menu doesn't have tiles, it looks almost exactly like the Windows 7 start menu. To me, it's starting to feel like a skin/theme for windows 7, rather than an actual upgrade, and he got taken in by someone, somehow.
Brand new Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) Dell Desktop.
Replaced old XP system (which ran like a swiss watch).
If I turn off the monitor (which I do every night as I need the computer on 24/7) when I turn it on all the desktop icons have moved back to the left.
This DOES NOT happen on a reboot or a shut the computer down and turn it on.
Medium icons, all power saving is turned off, auto arrange icons and align icons to grid are both unchecked.
After upgrade from windows 7 everything works properly. After o while it was not possible to open the START MENY by left click the windows 10 icon in the lower left corner. Right click works ok. What is the reason to that?
View 1 RepliesI left-click on the windows icon, but nothing happens. Right-click, though, gives a pop-up list. How to restore the left-click behaviour?
View 13 RepliesMy install to Windows 10 failed on a PC running 32bit Windows 7 Home Premium.
The error I got was that the NX feature was not enabled on the CPU.
I upgraded to Windows 10 the second day it was available and have had problems with not being able to use any Microsoft account features. When trying to sign in on the Xbox app I get the error 0x3fb and get a button that says try again. When I try to click "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead" it just sits there and does nothing no matter how long I wait or how many times I click it. The same issue occurs when I try to make a new local account or add a Microsoft account to the Cortana app. not being able to use the features of Windows 10 make the upgrade pointless.

View 1 RepliesI just noticed a lot of music in my collection was not downloading, when trying to manually download any "steaming" albums in my collection I get an error saying "Couldn't download to your library. Your library doesn't contain any folders that are not associated with a cloud storage service"
I don't recall having this issue before, but I'm pretty sure its because my profile's Music folder is stored in OneDrive. Does this mean we must have two music folders now? One for music stored in OneDrive, and another local-only folder for music downloaded from our collection?
So I have Windows 10 and want to get rid of the password protected login feature. I found some steps on this site which are vaguely "On your windows 10 Start menu window, right click at the Win logo > select Run option > in the Run box type netplwiz > OK > follow the prompts. Restart Win 10."
Did that. On restart, I didn't need a password. Naturally, I thought the problem was solved. Nope. When the computer goes to sleep, I need to enter a password to re-open it; when it is turned off or restarted, I don't need a password.
Have a Dell Inspiron 2200, was running Xp, loaded Windows Starter, run ok, tried to upgrade to Windows 10. Got error message "PC's Processor doesn't support a critical feature (NX)".

Before the latest Windows 10 build I used a method in order to put some colour on the title bars which was this one:
And I thought updating to the latest build that finaly included these colours would fix that issue but it's still there.
Microsoft Edge didn't come with a "Save As" feature when downloading something from the internet allowing us to change the name of the file as well as the location in which it is being saved. And I was hoping that with updates it would be added. However, I still don't see the feature, even after this November update.
Does this will ever be added? I have been using Edge since it came out, but if this continues, I will be switching back to IE.
A while back I successfully upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 10, and then reverted back to Windows 7, with no problems. Today, I created a new partition and attempted to do a clean install of Windows 10, using a flash drive. Install failed, with the message "This PC's processor doesn't support a critical feature (NX)." Has the Windows 10 installation changed in the meantime? What's the problem? I checked the BIOS, and could find no mention of NX.

Have duplicated event with several different accounts, not including my own. This is a serious issue for me since I'm using my computer for business.
Is there a way to put a shortcut on the taskbar that would perform a shutdown when clicked? And another one that would perform a restart?
View 4 RepliesRecently I have started to experience a problem with Windows 10.
The buttons glowing red below do not do anything when pressed anymore.
Things I've tried
- Going into Task Manager and Restarting Windows Explorer.exe
- Restarting the computer
- Doing a virus and malware scan with AVG & Malwarebytes
- Yelling at the computer
- Googling the problem
- Praying to the lord of computers
The above has not worked.
Another issue tell me if u can solve this . Iam having synaptics touch pad in which scrolling feature is not working in win 10 ,was working in windows 8 .
View 7 RepliesI was wondering if there was a way to change the look of the window buttons to something like Windows 8.
Here's what that looks like: [URL] ....
Windows finally bullied me into upgrading to Win10 from Win7 yesterday. Now some things that used to be clickable aren't. Like this little window, for example.... nothing on it responds to the mouseovers OR clicks.

View 1 RepliesI am having problems with me Mouse and key board, on boot up they will turn on for about 20 seconds then turn off. Then a error comes up,inaccessible_ boot_drive. But if I restart my pc the mouse and keyboard will do the same thing but instead of the error I get, choose keyboard layout, and a list of options but I cant choose them because the mouse isn't working. This all started happening after I upgraded my power supple but I when I put my old power supple in I had the same problem. I have windows 10and I have tried using different keyboards and different usb ports.
View 1 RepliesThere is a feature missing with screen configuration under Windows 10 and new Amd drivers Crimson, even the last WHQL ones (15.12). The Amd setting do not have the screen configuration, no more.
The driver choose ( I guess) the screen number 1 by its connection type Hdmi vs the screen number 2 the vga one (by default the main screen, in Italian "schermo principale")
It's impossible to change that order . And it can be a problem because if the screen 1, a Panasonic plasma through its Hdmi-2 port), is turned off (not the stand-by) the screen 2 do not became the active screen and no login screen is displayed on start. Obviously when screen 1 is turned on the issue ends.
So today my computer stopped running the apps in the start menu. I have reset a few times and nothing worked. Are my drivers out of date or is there a new update i need. Also the HP support assist says i have an update to need to install but when i install it nothing happens and goes back to an update that i need to download.
