I have a surface 3 and the type cover is working fine, EXCEPT that I can't click the touchpad anymore.
Well, i can click it, but it does nothing... so I can't select anything. Tapping works, and two finger tap works but the actual click doesnt...
Have i accidentally changed some setting in Windows somewhere or is it broken?
My start button looks like a 4 pane window. I click it and it opens ALL APPS, POWER, SETTINGS, etc. But there is no text box in which to type commands. Where did it go- how do I get it back?

Im not sure if windows did something as far as I know I didnt and I have added anything.

View 3 RepliesI use a HP laptop & since the last few days I am not able to open any files or click on something since the left (main) key & double tap on the mouse pad are not working! Although I am able to move the cursor/pointer over the touch pad & the right click is working fine as well! I searched the entire internet & nothing seem to work! The last thing I remember doing that might have caused this problem (earlier everything was working fine but sometimes touchpad used to get stuck) is hitting the fn+f5 button that I read in this thread Touchpad not working for windows 10.

Driver up to date, change mouse already, no hardware conflicts. Restored the computer back to 3 weeks and it works, but the update comes again and the problems also.

View 1 RepliesSo.. I upgraded to windows 10, and like usual, I had high expectations.I installed it, it seemed to work fine and all, then I cant click the task bar. Literally, cannot click into anything except for Steam and Windows Explorer. No start menu working, no internet applications working. So.. I go to reinstall windows 10, and I get the same shit. So now that I cannot open up the start menu, I cant even revert back to Windows 7.My only option now seems to be to just chuck all my shit on my external and do a clean wipe.. Which I don't really want to do but will if needed.

View 1 RepliesI have just bought a brand new Viglen Omnio 5 all in one PC pre loaded with Windows 10. Everything works fine except that when I go into file explorer and try to right click on a file to edit/copy etc it just hangs and locks the whole screen. The mouse works perfectly on everything out of file explorer. I know this problem has been around for a while but I cannot find a solution anywhere. Because the OS was preloaded I don't have any driver discs.
View 8 RepliesMy windows 10 left click menu doesn't bring up the menu tray anymore since after I shut down my system using the alt+f4 combination keys. Likewise, neither the running apps tray nor the network one opens up on left click. I also cannot multitask anymore as I can only open one folder, seeing as the non functionality of the left click options limits my ability to. I've had these exact issues before which forced me to reinstall the OS from scratch. But I can't always install the software as it requires time and some backing up.

Additional detail: Well the properties opened once. After half hour I clicked on properties.
Also Cortana wont launch. It takes several clicks to start. And after it starts it is unable to hear me. But screw cortana. I will probably never use it anyway.
I upgraded to Windows 10 a little while ago, and while it has mostly been smooth sailing I have encountered a small glitch.
Middle-clicking on things in the taskbar normally opens a new instance on the corresponding application. This feature works perfectly for everything but Firefox.
I am not sure if it is a setting within Firefox or Windows that is blocking this behavior, or if it is a bug.
I have discovered two workarounds.
1) Open a new Firefox window using the shortcut in the Start Screen.
2) Drag a tab away to create a new window.
I have upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. I had problems going into and out of sleep mode which seem have been resolved by installing updates for Intel Graphics. Now I can't get anything to come up when I left click on the Start button. All of the other icons in the task bar will only work with a left click of the mouse, nothing happens with a right click. Also, I did not get Cortana when I upgraded to Windows 10 on this device. I also upgraded another lap top and have Cortana on that one. With all of these problems occurring one after the other, can I reinstall Windows 10?
View 14 RepliesUpdated my Win 7 Pro x64 computer last night to Windows 10. Now can't click on the start menu items or really any windows menu. Some other random things won't accept a left click either. Chrome seems to respond just fine but not firefox. I'm puzzled. I have a Razer Naga 2014 but tried a Cheap little logitech mouse with same results. I also logged into my machine Via team viewer from work and left click still doesn't work on things.
I'd be totally fine doing a fresh install but not sure of the procedure yet to have it activate without installing windows 7 first then doing the upgrade again.
I cannot left click my Start Button, only a right click works, but does not give the same results.

However, since yesterday, I have not been able to type in the search bar. One clicks the mag glass or search box but nothing happens.
I tried, such as:
SFC/scannow
Windows powershell key "Get -AppXPacjkage -Allusers......."
DSIM /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth......"
Checked for any more Windows updates
None of this worked.
I then created a new user to find that it works with a new profile. It seems we are at the mercy of a user profile that could become corrupt at any moment and the only solution is to create another user.

Prior to downloading Windows 10, to access my emails I typically entered the word " ixquick" in my search engine and then type "century link home" in the ixquick search box. I click on Century LInk Home which takes me to the Century Link web site. I then click on the "Mail" tab to read, respond to, or create new emails. I have been going through all these steps and through ixquick for additional security.
Now, however, when I do this same process after switching over to Windows 10 I have discovered that I am unable to type any text in new emails, or type any text when responding to emails. I can type text in the Topic Title box with no problem but the system will not allow me type anything in the message box section of the email.
Is it possible that I just have something turned off, or a button that needs to be pushed?
