Oct 22, 2015My Dell laptop which is windows 10 only has a chronic problem with the adapter constantly needing to be reset. Searching for similar problems led me to the possibility of a USB adapter.

Aug 8, 2015So after 2 failed attempts at installing Windows 10 on an Acer Aspire Z5801 PC, I finally managed to succeed. However, a new problem appeared after installation.The Wireless network adapter went completely missing. Windows does not detect its existence at all, it's like the PC doesn't have one installed. It doesn't appear in Device manager + isn't listed as an "unknown device". It's simply not there at all.The wired network adapter is there, but not wireless.
Installing the driver from Acer's website - I had to select Windows 7 64-bit as the version is all that's available for my adapter.I used a USB stick to transfer the setup files to the Acer PC. It said it successfully installed but still didn't appear, even after a reboot.Used a USB wireless adapter (Netgear) to see if it was an issue with how Windows 10 handles Wi-Fi - nope, that installed and worked fine.Scanning for Windows updates after using the USB adapter. Some updates were found and installed (no driver ones though), but still no Wi-Fi.
In the end, I reverted back to Windows 7 and what do you know? The adapter got recognised again.The USB adapter isn't a viable solution since it's required by another PC. I just used it for testing purposes.

Oct 6, 2015I recently brought a new wireless network adapter for usb (Asus usb N14) and since I've started using it the connection is really unstable, I'm on the same connection on my iphone and it's just fine but on my pc it's really struggling, I've ran speed tests and it'll work fine when randomly it'll just go down, I'll still be connected to the router but have no internet. Right now looking at the wifi graph in task manager it literally going straight up for a few seconds then straight back to 0 when downloading a file, and I'm unable to download any large files because it'll just fail after about 30 seconds.
I've updated it to the latest version with no change in performance or reliability. One other thing I'm at Uni so other people will be using the connection and I've no access to the router unfortunately.
Wireless Adapter Is Up To Date But Can't Turn It On?
Nov 8, 2015... in Control Panel cannot turn it on... Troubleshooter says "Wireless capacity is turned off".
WLAN Auto Config Service IS running.
The web sites that say to remove a Registry Key results in the Key NOT found and then trying to run its' companion command line utility results in not found.
Before updating to Windows 10, the Wi-Fi worked properly.
Latest Windows Driver IS installed. How to get my Laptop Running so that I can use it Wirelessly instead of having to connect via Category 5 land line cable to the router.
Wireless USB Adapter Keeps Crashing - Internet Will Cut Off
Jul 31, 2015This error is why i could never run Windows 8.1 on my machine and it seems to of transferred over to windows 10 too. My PC boots fine everything's working but usually if i am doing something like watching a YouTube video or on my PS4 playing online my internet will cut off and my wireless with have the Square box with a red cross, if i unplug my adapter and plug it back in it comes back on. But its a bit frustrating when I'm playing a multiplayer game on my PC or chatting on Skype for my adapter to crash. I've had this issue with my old netgear wireless adapter and this one.
It happens around 2-5 times an hour, i looked it up and I've tried many fixes some of which include:
Setting power settings to Max Performance.
Setting the Adapter to not turn off to save power
Reinstalling drivers
Turning off Bluetooth
I have looked in the Windows Event Log and i seem to get 2 events every time this occurs and they say:
WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped.
Module Path: C:WINDOWSSystem32cmihvsrv64.dll
and
The network interface "ASUS USB-AC53 802.11ac Wireless USB Adapter" has begun resetting. There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while the hardware resets.
Reason: The network driver requested that it be reset.
This network interface has reset 15 time(s) since it was last initialized.
I like Windows 10 but i can't use it if my internet keeps cutting out randomly.
Networking :: Adding A Netgear Wireless Adapter To PC
Oct 19, 2015I have been connecting my PC to my router via a Ethernet cable and have had no issues but I want to move the PC to another room and run it off a wireless adapter. I tried a TP-Link USB adapter but it didn't work so I switched it for a Netgear one. That doesn't work either which makes me think there is something not right with my PC. I have installed and uninstalled multiple times, tired different USB ports but the Wireless Adapter doesn't seem to get an IP address and there are no Wireless settings in the control panel.But there are no Wireless setting and no connectivity to the Adapter.

Dec 16, 2015I just bought an ASUS PCE-N53 PCI-E adapter for my PC that I built several months ago. Previously, I was just using ethernet. Put the card in my PCI-E 1 slot, and installed the drivers from the installation disc, but nothing shows up in Device Manager and I have no wireless option in my Network Connections settings. why it's not showing up, minus it being dead out of the box? I can't try it in my PCI-E 2 slot because my graphics card is in the way.

Nov 24, 2015Not sure what I'm doing wrong but when I look at the MWDA reviews, everyone's surface is picking up the full screen.
My sp4 though, doesn't. there is a black screen around the screen when projected to the TV. I've tried it on my tv (old *** tv) and a newer Samsung TV.
The only way I got it to pick up the entire screen on the Samsung was by adjusting the picture size and stretching it. But it would never fit exact. Piece of the screen would be cut off on the top, bottom and sides.
It's annoying. I've tried changing the settings in the MWDA app but that only makes things smaller.

Mar 25, 2016This is all after upgrading from Windows 7 three days ago.
After two days of enjoying Windows 10, my internet just started going out. The pc would freeze for a sec and then id get a red x in the bottom and my wifi would be gone. In device manager, it always shows my wifi network adapter operation was unsuccessful. I switched to a different adapter and installed the latest drivers, which say are compatible with windows 10, and the same issue still happens. I also tried some CMD command I found online related to old VPNs and that didn't work.
Usually it only fixes if i unplug and replug the adapter. Disabling and enabling doesn't work. I repaired winsock and renewed tcp/ icp and that didn't work.. What can I do? I cant go 20 minutes without losing internet.

Sep 23, 2015My computer just won't sleep for longer than 15 minutes, I've disabled wake-timer in the advanced power options. I also disabled my keyboard, mouse, network, adapter, and everything else in my device manager that could possibly be waking my computer up without me wanting to do so. I also checked my cmd logs for devices armed to turn my PC on.Checked the Event Viewer aswell but in the log it says whatever keeps turning my PC on is 'Unknown'.

Sep 2, 2015Ok so got a new usb WiFi adapter. I installed the driver first which I downloaded on my phone then transferred to my pc via usb cable. Have tried reinstalling multiple times, still won't work. I'm guessing the problem is there's no win 10 drivers for it. NOTE: I did have a old usb adapter working with no driver before but not even that's working even with drivers uninstalled. The new adapter shows up in device manager with a problem indicated with a code 10.But not in network devices.

Networking :: No Network Adapter Detected - Deep Sleep Mode
May 5, 2015I decided to take the plunge and install win 10 on one of my machines. Used windows update to install build 10074 from windows 7.
Everything seems to have worked fine except my network adapter (onboard Realtek thing) isn't being detected.
Figured this might be a driver thing so I installed various versions of the realtek drivers both win 7 and win 8 ones and these seem to install fine but then cannot detect the card. The installer gives an error that the card may be in "Deep Sleep mode".
Once installed the Device "REaltek PCIe GBE Family Controller" appears in device manager with no issues or conflicts, but nothing is in the Network Connections window when I go through Network and Sharing centre.
I have tried booting to the trouble shooting menu and selecting load unsigned drivers but this has not worked.
I rolled back to Win 7 and the card came back and all connectivity was restored. Re-installed win10 and back to the same issue.

Sep 15, 2015I have DELL Inspiron 14R N4010. Automatic upgraded to Windows 10 Home. Previously I have Windows 7 Home Premium. After upgrade I didn't see the wired network adapter. However my wifi is working fine and can access Internet. I tried to re-install the LAN driver (Atheros AR8152 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller Driver); it ask for upgrade/repair/de-install means driver is already present in the system. In spite of that upgraded the dirver (got the upgraded driver setup from Dell). Unfortunately, the device is still not visible in device manager.

Sep 16, 2015I have a problem with Windows 10 Network Sharing feature. It assigns fine the IP address 192.168.137.1 to the network card that acts as the bridge to connect other computers to the Internet. But it's not working, and when one goes to the share NIC adapter and right-click on it and select PROPERTIES, and then from the list of it shows one select :
"Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then you see that everything is fine, the IP address 192.168.137.1 shows there and the subnet 255.255.255.0 also there. BUT ONCE YOU CLICK ON OK in that window, another Window POPS UP and a message saying:
"The IP address 192.168.137.1 you have entered for this network adapter has already being assigned to another adapter (in parenthesis it shows the same adapter that it's assigned in the SHARING tab in the main adapter), so there is not way to get out of that 'network card properties'. further down the message in that window says: DO YOU WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEM BY CHANGING THE IP ADDRESS FOR THIS ADAPTER? and the choices are: YES or NO
The command Line in an MSDOS window run as administrator: IPCONFIG /ALL doesn't shows any other virtual or real NIC with the IP address 192.168.137.1 except for the one that was assigned in the "Sharing" tab in the properties of the real NIC that connects directly to the ISP box.
I don't know if I have explained well this issue, but all I can say it's that no other network adapter has that IP address. I have a VirtualBox virtual adapter that it has an IP address totally different, the same as another Virtual VMWare adapter.
I even went to control panel > Device Manager > Delete both NIC's (the one that connects directly to the Internet and the one that acts as the SHARING network, and the issue remains the same.
I cannot use the Wireless Router to connect my tablets or WI-FI Cellphones.
I have several Operating Systems in the Same Computer to boot with, and Windows 8.1 for instance Network Sharing works fine in the same computer.
I'm running Windows 10 PRO 64bits
HP Pavillion G6 Notebook / WiFi Network Adapter Losing Connection?

Network adapters: Ralink RT5390R 8-2.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter (Date: 5/18/2015, Version: 5.0.57.0), and Realtek PCle FE Family Controller (Date: 4/01/2015, Version: 9.1.401.2015)
Problem: Every once in a while, I'll lose my internet connection. When I click the wifi icon on the taskbar, there will be no networks listed. The only way to fix the problem is to go the Device Manager, disable the Ralink Wi-Fi Adapter and then re-enable it. This fixes the problem anywhere from a of couple minutes to a couple of hours, then it happens again.
Solutions I've tried: I've tried doing a system restore but it failed and there are no more restore points. I've tried uninstalling the Ralink driver, downloading a new copy, and reinstalling it.
Networking :: Cannot Connect To The Wireless Network
Dec 9, 2015I started my PC in a new premises with a Wireless modem, I have two other PC's connected.
When I started the PC it saw the wireless network and the option came up to connect and there was a tick in the "Connect Automatically" box.
I selected OK but got a message "unable to connect".
I did not get the opportunity to enter the Password/Key.
Now the PC will not connect to the Network nor will and Diagnose and repair fix anything.
BTW the Ethernet adaptor has been disabled.
The laptop I am sending this from is next to the PC so the wireless signal is okay.
Why Is Wireless Network Slowing Down After Upgrading
Nov 1, 2015I have two 2008 Mac Pro computers running a bootcamp setup (OSX El Capitan/Windows) and have a 50 Mbps cable connection with Linksys WRT 1900AC wireless router. The wireless throughput on both machines worked flawlessly in Windows 7 but after upgrading both to Windows 10 the throughput dropped from 50 Mbps down to apprx 1.5 Mbps. Both computers use a Broadcom 5200 series 80211n chipset which are running the Microsoft signed version 5.100.245.200 driver. The wired network runs at full speed, and in OSX both wired and wireless connections run at full speed. I've seen a number of others report the same issue, but have never seen a fix that seems to work. I've tried updating the driver through Windows but get a OS message stating that the best driver is already installed. At the moment I have Ethernet cables strung across the living room floor, and would like to get back to wireless.
