View 2 RepliesEver since I've upgraded to Windows 10 there is an error message after startup that says: "Access violation at address 0046D0AD in module 'Wlakn Mgr.exe'. Read of address 00000002." I think it has to do with my internet connection-My pc (yes, pc, not laptop) came with an extra strong internet receiver becuase I have to do with wifi; no cable available here.
View 1 RepliesYesterday my sound icon disappeared from my notification center. I have searched the internet for a solution and the ones I have found have not worked. In the enable windows icons page, the switch for the sound icon is grayed out. I cant change my volume...
View 1 RepliesI've tried everything short of resetting my pc to get my action center icon on my taskbar to function normally. Right now it will turn white like a new notification is available, but when I click on it nothing happens. Also..when I press the Ctrl + A keys, nothing happens. This is occurring on my ASUS T100TA touchscreen transformer book. I've even added the regsistry edit that Brink has posted in the tutorial section.
View 8 RepliesThe Bluetooth icon is on in my Action Center but my computer does not have Bluetooth. This is interfering with my Wi-Fi speed. How do I turn off the icon when I do not even have Bluetooth capability on my computer?
View 2 RepliesWe can easily disable Action Center icon in Windows 10 via the following registry key:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindowsExplorer]"DisableNotificationCenter"=dword:00000001
But that will completely disable Action Center and its button will become gray, not possible to change its state. I don't wanna disable it, just wanna turn it off, like we do manually in: Settings > System > Notifications & Actions > Turn system icons on or off
For this one, I didn't find a registry key, also the following article does not work for Windows 10: System Icons - Enable or Disable - Windows 7 Forums
just turn it off via registry without disabling and locking down the Action Center button.
I can no longer use Search/Cortana as the Windows icon or Windows key are unresponsive and there is no way to open Search the web and Windows. Also, can no longer open Action Center.
Everything was working fine after upgrade from Windows 7 for awhile, then the above happened. (except for Action Center). After a clean install, things went well for awhile, and then started having the same problems again.
After last up date my volume icon said it was not working , I went to trouble shooter it said it was fixed nd to restart my computer. When it restarted the volume icon was gone , the volume works but the icon s gone.
I went to a wed site they said to trying below go to system in action center
go to System / Notifications and actions
click Turn systems icons or off /Volume its there on but turned off and grayed out
then I looked into
Select what icons appears on task bar/It’s there and turned on but in the box there is no picture
How do I get the volume icon back on my task bar ?
I'am unable to switch on the apps-notification switch in action center. The switch is fade out.
I'am not aware if this worked before, I just run Windows 10 for 2 days
I have recently installed windows 10 and am unable to load task manager when clicking on the icon on the task bar.
I need access to this facility to check if automatic update are still turned on.
I've been trying to upload pictures from my camera using the USB lead, however I try the Photos box comes up with some of the pics from the computer and a further box saying "we couldn't find any pictures to import "... I've tried changing AutoPlay to no avail...
View 4 RepliesI have this message at startup of my Windows 10 that I tolerate now since... a few years : Unable to load DLL 'setup_maclook.dll': The specified module could not be found (this is a translation of my french message).
What this is about : I make my Windows updates, I scanned with malwarebytes anti-malware just today, in fact my PC is running really fine, just that there is that annoying message I hope I will resolve someday.
What I did up to now : I did some research, it seems according to bitdefender that this is related to the virus boaxxe. I don't know if I already had boaxxe, but I've already had viruses about one year ago when I was on Windows 8.1, before my upgrade on Windows 10. This is all resolved now.
Other than that, I've passed through the steps of this interesting article : [URL] ....
But I'm not ready to re-install Windows, as I did many tweaks on it to make it lighter (but just recently, so this can't be related to my problem). I did the sfc/scannow thing, I have verified all my drivers using Driverbooster.
On my desktop, whenever I restart my PC and sumtimes randomly out of nowhere the icon "All control Panel items" appears on my desktop....
How to solve this - as I cannot Right click and delete as there is no option as such....
PS: Using Windows 10 Pro with fresh Clean install.
Image of the icon below:
The ICON for the volume control slider bar has suddenly disappeared from of my taskbar ??
I have tried looking in control panel - sounds - but that only puts a shortcut to a speaker on my desktop !!
I cannot find the volume control icon anywhere and I cannot find any reference in Programs to the volume control ?
I need to find this missing icon as when I am using SKYPE I have to turn up the volume to be able to hear the other peoples incoming audio ??
Unable to load media file to Sony Vegas Platinum 13.0 since I upgraded to windows 10 from 7, error message Unsupported Open GL version. HitFilm requires 2.0 or above. Current hardware GL 1.1 GLSL 0.0. This happened after the upgrade to windows 10.
How do I get the GL 2.0 or above?
I am getting the following message when I try to load SPSS.
"The application was unable to load a required virtual machine component. Please contact the publisher of this application for more information."
I have configured 2 languages - english and hebrew and set password in hebrew.
However, when trying to change language in lockscreen to login, i am not able to switch to hebrew.
Tried on screen keyboard via easy access but could not switch to hebrew as well. Therefore, i am not able to login now.
I came across a very annoying problem. In the rush of multitasking I copied a folder that was being deleted at the time and pasted it onto my Desktop. Now I have an empty folder icon on my desktop with no name and I can't do anything with it.
None of the options in the context menu work, pressing Delete doesn't work either. When I list contents of my desktop in CMD using DIR command it doesn't display any directories either, as if the folder wasn't there at all.
After a driver (I think one related to Intel graphics, but i am not shure) was unsuccesfully installed, I had a BSOD problem, hard restart, kernel error message (unable to reproduce it afterward). Some applications from taskbar partially work (Office, Skype), some not. I am unable to open the Start menu (but the right click still works). The Edge disapeared, I post from anothe PC. Restarted a few times, tried to restore to a previous backup of drivers - nothing works.
View 1 RepliesI have the icon for new notifications but when I choose to ''Open Action Center'' nothing happens, also the WIN+A keys do not open it either. What the matter is? I daily see the icon while hovering over with the mouse indicate that there are 'New Notifications''.
View 6 RepliesAll of a sudden I am getting stock market notifications on my action center. Where is that coming from and how do I change the action center settings to stop this?
View 3 Replieshaven't seen this before, seems pretty good
View 1 RepliesI have Postbox as an email application, and I would like to know if there's a way to have it register alerts in Windows 10's Notification Center? (Other applications I have installed will give alerts in the Notification Center, but I cannot figure out if there's a way to add Postbox).
View 4 RepliesCurrently, my OneDrive icon is sitting in the 'hidden icons' section. I have seen pictures of the icon sitting on the taskbar next to Edge, the store, and all the other taskbar icons... how do you get that icon on the taskbar? I have tried all the normal ways I can think of (click and drag onto taskbar, going into taskbar settings, etc) but I can't get it to be removed from the hidden icons area.
View 2 RepliesSo My computer is basically behaving as if quiet hours mode is activated, but quiet hours are NOT activated.
For example, if I get an email or plug in a new device, the only thing that happens is the icon for action center goes from clear to white.
This is only happening on my main user account, it is not happening on my admin account. I suspect that if I made a new account, the problem would not be present there either.
So because this problem only exists in one user account and not the other, it must be some system setting that was flipped for one account and not the other. But I have searched high and low for any notification settings and they all seem correct.
Still trying to figure out what it is that keeps waking up my computer from sleep.
I looked in the event logs and found this:
The system has returned from a low power state.
Sleep Time: 2015-08-30T03:12:34.409741300Z
Wake Time: 2015-08-30T03:30:51.010471500Z
Wake Source: Timer - Windows will execute 'NT TASKMicrosoftWindowsMedia Centermcupdate_scheduled' scheduled task that requested waking the computer.
What I don't understand is why is mcupdate waking the computer if Media Center was removed from Windows 10.
But more importantly how do I stop this from happening?
